Yes, the stock battery was fine, having a voltage of 13.2v, but I have a theory that a bigger battery would solve the hl dimming when horn is pressed issue, plus avoid early failure of electrical components.

Hello guys. I would like to know what's the true top speed(not the speedo indicated) of cbr250. On Honda website its given as 135kmph. It seems low for a 250cc mill, even if you consider it as a sports tourer.

The true top speed could be anywhere between 130-147 km/hr.

I have seen lot of YouTube videos. People pulling more than 160km/hr on the cbr 250R. But nobody knows how much of that is true.

It develops power in low and midrange and the top end is next to nill, hence post 8K rpm it starts to run out of juice.

So 140km/hr is a decent speed considering indian roads.

I used my phone as a gps and the indication was 139 when I was doing around147ish speedo indicated, could have achieved more if there was some downhill.

        Cheers,
        Sanjay

I think 140 is what I have seen and mostly what other people tell. There are people saying 160 etc but don't know under what conditions or modifications.

And what do you mean by seems low for 250 CC ?
Let me put some perspective The Bugatti Veyron needs just 250 HP to go speed of 150 mph and to go another 100 mph speed i.e 253 mph (the initial Bugatti veyron top speed) it needs a whopping 750 HP the reason is the faster you go the air pushes the car/bike more downwards making it more heavier. So even a 150 CC bike can do near to 110-120 KM/H for 250 CC 140 KM/H is just fine and it might seem low but that's just mother nature bro...

well initial batches only and not all bikes under r15 v1 came from Japan. this same applies to other motorcycles too.

I fail to understand being heavily localized why are they selling the cbr at a premium ? Or is the price justified ? In another thread i just now read that a refreshed cbr will be launched on 4th August and the prices could go north by 20 K .

Reason for my rant ! I am seriously interested in the bike but the ABS version is way above my budget. More than the rare limited edition car that i bought

Don't get me wrong for the "seems less for a 250cc mill. I am planning to get cbr250 in couple of months, mainly for touring purpose. Eagerly waiting for the revfest. So was going through their website and was thinking about its top speed given as 135kmph. Comparatively, rs200 being lesser in Cc, power, and torque(not to mention the fairing which doesn't seem as aerodynamic as cbr250) reaches 140kmph top speed( that's what bajaj and all reviewers claim).

I know bajaj is trying to milk the Max out of the 200cc and bajaj nvh levels are lesser than bajaj. I was just curious to know how the gearing in Honda have been designed.

No hard feelings on any brand am just trying gather info a about couple of bikes before I make a decision.

Hey bro, it's fine I understand I thought you said that in general like "why 250 CC's and not much faster than 150/180 CC?".
Anyways its cool but, I would recommend wait till Yamaha R3 comes out and not sure if new CBR will come or not...

Bajaj always had massive speedo error be it any bike.

Every bike has some speedo error, but with bajaj its way too much.

I have a pulsar 220 as well and the cbr250r. Once me and and bro rode the respective bikes and my brother was doing around 143 and I was running the cbr on 138, the figures could be up and down a bit but thats what my younger brother reported.

Both in the same boat buddy. Me too trying to get as much info as I can on this bike before i take the plunge. The RS200 pricing looks mouth watering the moment when you compare it with the CBR pricing. I am eagerly for the Revfest for updates.

The R3 if I read the news right comes via CKD which will bump up the price into the Ninja territory I guess. Huh !!!! Completely out of reach to the mango men like me then

Cool Bro! Yup, we mango men are in the same boat. RS200 looks compelling, but i am spoilt sport to the honda engine refinement and reliability(though i suppose the rs comes close), but, if the news of the price going further north by 20K is true during the new launch, i would be confused again.

Thanks for the suggestion, but R3 being a twin, will be priced near N300, so its way out of my budget for now. I already have to stretch a lot like Boomer bubble gum man(If you rememeber the ad we used to see during childhood ) to reach cbr250.

I was aware of the sppedo error bro. But, the claimed top speed of RS is VBOX tested(both by bajaj and by reviewers) and not the speedo indicated one.

On a side note, even for CBR150 honda claimed top speed is only 109kmph. Seems to be in the territory of 150cc air-cooled normal revving bikes, unlike CBR150 whose engine is liquid cooled and has stratospheric redline of around 11k RPM(i might be wrong with the exact figures of redline).

CBR250 easilt does 140kmph and goes upto 160KMph as stock and if any mods is done then 170+kmph is also seen.
CBR250 is one of the best touring machine, and much better than NS or RS200.

I guess you meant speedo indicated figures. Real world figures are from 135 kmph to 145 kmph.
Change the gearing and you *may* see 150. Other mods like FFE, big(ger) bore, air filters, Iridium plugs etc won't give any increase in the top end, though one may reach there faster.
