Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hey guys,
any of the Michelin(front tyre) users felt a kind of jerkiness at low speed roll on ? I had mentioned about this previously, thought of it as cone set or shocks issue. But recently heard about someone facing same issue with the michelin front tyre. So just wanted to confirm if any such occurrences were faced by anybody else ?
Cheers

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have an r15 and till last week this was a major pain in the a**. What I did was spray the key hole with lots of wd40. Once I got it open I also sprayed inside the mechanical part of the lock. After 10 minutes I cleaned up the residue. Now the fuel cap is very smooth and no problems so far. Hope this works [emoji3]

Happened with my cbr also. Used wd-40 generously and the problem is gone.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostMy Fuel tank gets stuck most of the times.
Every time I enter petrol station I will have to wrestle with the fuel cap to open.
has anyone faced this issue and is there any way to fix it ?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi guys. I know the topic of tyres for the cbr has come up a lot in the past but I need some input from those of you who have used the revz c as a rear tyre. I'm planning to change the stock contigo's (lasted 22k btw) to the revz c at the rear and the revz fc at the front. Just wanted to know how this would change the dynamics of the bike ie handling, top speed, fuel efficiency etc etc. Any help will be appreciated

Hi blinx99,
It looks like you are going for a size "150/60 R 17" other than stock for the rear, hence I cannot comment much about it.
But revz fc being radial the difference will be noticeable from the front end. I found that revz fc being little lighter zapper(non radial).
The bike will be little more planted than the Contigo, both in straight line at triple digit speeds and during cornering.
And the difference will be huge if your current Contigo is either Bald or Loosing air constantly.
(My stock Contigo was loosing air like 10PSI/Day, so my tyre change had a huge difference in handling.)
Others who have similar configuration of "150/60 R17" for rear and "110/70 R17" for front may give you exact change in dynamics of the bike.
Please note the changing tyre will not reflect in top speed(especially in CBR250R) as the speedometer reading are taken from the transmission output than at tyre, But you might see the changes in the way the bike is accelerating.
you can check my post #16207 in page 1621 of this thread about my tyre change experience.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks for the input Ram. The only reason I am considering the revz c is because it is a radial and of the same rubber as the revz fc so it seemed like a good combination. Apart from the PSD and the michelin PSR I dont think any other radials are available in stock size. Will it be ok to pair the fc at the front with one of these at the rear? My requirements are that the tires should have good dry and wet grip and not be prone to punctures. My rear contigo has a huge nail implanted in it from a recent highway stint but thankfully it did not puncture and surprisingly its not loosing any air. Both of them are on the verge of going bald though hence the change.
Btw any updates on how the zappers are performing?Last edited by blinx99; 09-01-2015, 12:08 AM.

I am learning(leaning [emoji6] ) to corner now in the new tyres, it has given me huge confidence over older tyres to do that. And it's retaining the air even after 2 weeks so everything is good so far. Have not ridden it in heavy rain but grip is good on wetter roads.
Regarding the radials, I am not exactly aware of the advantages of it over the cross ply tyres in our normal roads for our bikes. My decision was made simple as I wanted to stick to the stock size.
Based on my little knowledge on tyres, radial or cross ply will not matter much for the speeds we are doing with our bikes on our streets. But it's better to have similar construction tyres on both the wheels.

Honda CBR 250R
I think, a few months back, I posted about how HMSI is providing low quality parts as replacement (under warranty or in general).
It took six months for me to get headlamp-starter-switch-assembly replaced with OEM, the one which comes with new bike.
HMSI and ASC kept pushing me to accept low quality part, but I kept saying, I wouldn't accept anything less than what comes with bike. It is unfair to offer low quality parts as replacement. I would probably post whole story later.
I have realized, HMSI sells and gives us low quality cheap parts by default unless we know (and keep asking them) about high quality OEM parts. We really don't know OEM part numbers; part numbers published in their manual or one of pdf (floating on web - http://tyga-performance.com/cbr250r/...S%20MANUAL.pdf) don't seem to be OEM part numbers.
You wouldn't find 35150-KYJ-711, which is OEM SW assembly part, anywhere (now - except one site which doesn't sell it anymore).
Manual lists 35150-KYJ-972 as SW-Assembly, you would see below, it looks cheap and is of low quality build and material.
Interesting or shocking part: the unit price for low quality and high quality seems to be same.
See for yourself:
Top Row - High Quality OEM part,
Bottom Row - Low quality part:
The part number and price of high quality OEM part:
The part number and price of low quality part:
Here is another pic (left column original stock part, right column low quality replacement given):
If you can't figure out what's wrong? Pay attention to plastic color (orangish red - high quality stuff) and quality, copper thing where bolts/screws are tightened, well coated screws, and good build inside the switch assembly.
BTW! I have verified, ASC was using the same part they were sent by HMSI. I had HMSI guy involved, and his role is sketchy. There is something wrong going on.
Can we really believe HMSI with any replacements? I can't. I now know they provide low quality parts and charge same price as they should for high quality. Had they been transparent and offered us choices at different cost, that would have worked. What they currently do is wrong.
What they do now, is unfair practice and probably they can do it in India only. Most of companies take us granted for anyways, and sell low quality stuff to us. Why? Because we don't know our rights, and we don't pursue, and fight for those.Last edited by tensor; 09-01-2015, 03:16 PM.
