Dealer ?? which dealer [details plz]?
my case is exact reverse , i got CBR ABS and i am literally bored with it, a very boring bike, it may be due to i owned earlier R15 and GT250R .
now i am planning to sell this CBR, like you i also waited for R3 and due to its over budget of 1L i dropped it. now waiting for HX250R , from latest news it might launch in next 1 year hopefully.

what a disheartening comment from a owner to a gonna be owner i am done waiting for HX250r, i am buying CBR250 as an interim bike only as i am planning for an adventure tourer after this. you can pm me with details of your bike if you were really serious when you said "i am literally bored with it, now i am planning to sell this CBR"

He just stated what he felt like; there're so many owners who're not just satisfied, but very happy with the practicality the bike offers & it certainly is a fun to ride motorcycle like R15 or Ninja. But where C250R scores over others is the sheer practicality. It can do offroading without breaking the rider's back, give some tough competition for few cars, returns excellent FE, very light on wallet & reliable. This is what I learned from my 85000+ Km of ownership.

Adding more to what was said by Aargee.

Yes, it might be a boring bike for the performance enthusiasts, but man this bike can handle any kind of condition and protected by a bullet proof engine with Honda's trust. And being a sports tourer it has a very comfortable pillion seat which you won't get on R15 / GTR / Ninja. And overall this bike is for mature people, not for Kids who showoff their R15 here and there.

I'm not criticizing anyone, but I feel this is practicality with R15 beacause of it's sharp look and lower price tag. But on the otherhand I personally like R15 / Ninja anytime over CBR in terms of X factors.

I am a follower of this thread from 2012. Here am adding my opinion just from 5 months of ownership.it's an all rounder in all aspects. Since u own a comfy bike, u can enjoy a comfy ride on cbr too. Pillion will be comfortable with its seat and suspension. Refined engine and descent fuel efficiency. Liquid cooling is just great and allowing hours of cruise @120. Reasonable maintenance cost. Overall terrific highway bike which matches with Indian road conditions and traffic. Worth paying for the abs model...

Hi All,

At last after 19380 Kms, and 1 Year, 11 Months and 20 odd days, I have got rid of both the Stock ContiGo tyres and given the beast MRF in stock sizes . The front tyre still have around 2000 Kms of life left, but to be on safer side for this monsoon I have changed both the tyres at once.

Rear - 140/70-17 66S NGP ZRS TL = Rs. 3144+taxes(Rs. 3600)
Front - 110/70-17 54S NGP ZFY TL = Rs. 2183+taxex(Rs. 2500)
Fitment charges - Rs. 100.

Both are cross-ply tyres. Got it changed from JAYEN TYRES(AMBATTUR) CHENNAI.

The front tyre has one more option of choosing Radial tyre with stock size at cost of Rs. 2800(Rs. 300 more). I have not opted this to make both the front and rear tyre to be of same type, and also their stock of Radial tyres was manufactured on Jan 2014 which is more than one and half years old.
When checked with the store manager, he said that they do not know how to calculate the manufacturing date. If they want to know, they will send the reference number of the tyre to the manufacturer to know those details.

When inquired about wheel balancing, the shop manager said that MRF management is under the impression that their technician does not have enough technical skills to do wheel balancing for two wheelers(even though the balancer machine they have supports two wheeler balancing). And under my request the manager said that he will do follow up with MRF to get the 2 wheeler shaft attachment(for motorcycle tyre balancing) and the required training.

So I have still not got the wheels balanced.

Coming to the Beast, as every one expects its eager to change directions than earlier, the floating feeling is completely gone as in the older tyre, the pressure reduces to 10 psi after 1 day, and even the Engine is running smoother(due to reduced friction from new tyre due to its more rounder profile).

I have also seen a marginal improvement in the fuel efficiency.

Completed around 200 Kms under the new tyre. but having so used to older Contigo's, I am still reluctant to push the bike little further

Ram.

Today morning I started it and the needle did not move below 1.5K rpm. I don't know wether the behaviour of the tacho needle at traffic signal was normal as it was hovering.

Idle RPM of the CBR is 1400 plus/minus 100 so I don't think there's anything to worry. It's perfectly normal, unless you see fluctuations which are beyond normal, significant increasing and decreasing engine RPM, there is absolutely nothing to fret.

Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks for the valuable inputs aargee, hypheni & Harisankar. I know its a wonderful machine to live with and an easy to maintain (compared to other bikes of same class) , fill-it, shut-it, forget it kind of a bike except for the ASS (blame the morons of Honda ASS) as i owned a unicorn for 4 yrs before ZMR. I took a TD in Dhruvdesh Honda today while returning from office and the TD bike was a 2011-12 model red-silver combo bike, the bike pulled effortlessly with a pillion(compared to the bike i am planning to buy) but while maneuvering a turn the front tyres was swaying heavily in either direction(as if the tyres have gone completely bald) the bike was uncontrollable. Again i rode the bike which i am planning to buy and that too behaved in a similar manner, the tyres are still new and straight line stability was pretty ok but the moment i turn the handle to left or right the bike pulls in the same direction and i have to put all my energy to pull it back to straight line. I assume it is only due to low air pressure in the tyres and not an issue with the cone set or bent forks please throw some light

He charged me 220+80(labour). He also told me that these pads are for aviator.

Actually it was not about cost difference but actually i was not getting time to visit asc. But now i know where to get spares for cbr. I saved around 500 last month on chain set from the same shop.
this seems interesting. see if you can post a pic..

Hi all,
Just a small query. I've read somewhere about the ZMR's rear view mirrors are a direct fit to our CBR. Is this true?
And what will be the approx. life of both front and rear brake pads? and about the rear pads, P220's rear pads are a direct fit? Just curious to know.
Thanks.

I am using ZMR's mirror and yes its a direct fit. But you have to make adjustments as the stem is shorter than CBR's mirror and ZMR mirror looks hot

Nobody can define the life of break pads. It is your braking habits which defines the life of brake pads. Some folks needed change at 6-7k kms some at even 3-4K kms and some have clocked 13-14K on stock. my rear pads lasted for 14K kms and front for 8K kms.

And yes P220's rear pad are direct fit and they are from same make "bybre" and about mail2vasant saying aviator's front brake pad are direct fit in CBR's front pad. I highly doubt that because of the below questions :

1. is the composition of brake pads same across all Honda scooters and motorcycles manufactured in India. If it was same, then why use bybre exclusively for CBR. There will be seriously some difference be it the composition, stopping power and life.

2. Why to risk life with aviator's pads considering we already have a VFM offering for rear pads from bajaj and for front its ok to spend those 800 bucks.

Cheers,
Sanjay

How much did it cost to get a ZMR mirror? and just DIY?

Do post pics if you have. And i think the mirror will be the same for all the ZMR versions if i'm not wrong.

Relax, its the riding position that matters , as you are owner of ZMR you gonna love it, as of for me i feel very uncomfortable with CBR riding position. i like to have pressure on my wrists rather than my back directly.
as others said only 2 things i liked about CBR is , one its much more comfortable for pillion , and other you can do lil of-roading without worry.
i also got CBR as interim bike. its served its purpose now.
