there are many things to check the oil..
stickiness test.
thickness

colour. and as i have seen all these pointers post 3000 km on honda oil adds to what i said above. i don't ride like a maniac but not sedate either.
also shell holds very well for my long rides where i keep the machine 100+ for hours at times.

I guess this explanation was for leech or maybe wrong post quoted :P

CBR with 2 up is the best bike in the price bracket.

And if ever there is some uneasiness in the seat, the CBRs plush suspension will soak the bumps very nicely.

Cool, I read reports that the cosmetic upgrades were just to sell of the old stock of CBRs. I think they'll discontinue the bike sometime in 2016 especially to make way for the 300R, hope spares and bike value won't be an issue then!

I guess the manufacturer has to provide spares for 7 years once the bike is discontinued. So spares availability should not me much of a concern.

And even if CBR300R is making way to the Indian shores, plenty of components will be same for sure as the bump is only of 46CC.

No Idea about bike value after few years, but as of now a decent 2012 model sells for around 100K.

There's a 2013 ABS white for 93K that's clocked 35K kms. Still on stock tyres. First owner, if the bike feels good what should I offer? Is 35K already much for 2013 bike?**

If the bike is accident free and is well maintained then the price of 93K is justified.

If you are going for second hand bike, look for the below things :

1. Number of ownerships
2. any major work done on engine except shim change.
3. take a test ride of the bike and look for unwanted sounds after the engine has heated up fair bit.
4. Check for the service records.
6. Look for noise in cold start.

Tagging @ishan2290 and Kiran.jagtap here they might help you on the second hand thing.

Yes 35K on stock contigo, that's a huge achievement. applause: to the owner, Remember contigo have a bad reputation.

Get those tire changed to MRF rev-z (5-6K for set) or Michelin pilot street radials(9K for set).

Cheers,

35k is high for the tires, not for the bike. I have done 26.5k km in a year, hence that shouldn't be a problem.
Rather you should be concerned about clutch plates, sprockets, tires, brake pads etc. If interested, try to negotiate citing the above replacements (whichever needed).

He's a dealer in Mumbai, I offered 85K and it stalled there.

One should usually stay away from dealer bikes/cars. Good that you didn't proceed further. How difficult is it to ride a GJ bike in MH? Give GJ a try.

I never knew he had contacted a dealer for the bike, would have said a straight away NO.

Ahh, I see, what's the main bad thing about buying from a dealer?

Cool, cause I got a used car from a dealer too and it was perfect. In fact, called Maruti authorized service centers too and what was on the book was in their computer records too! But I do get your point. Is it that easy and cost effective for a dealer to tamper with the ODO of a Fi bike?
