Re: Honda CBR 250R
But u cannot retro fit it, I wanted to do that on my CBR but the service center said its not possible, but its a matter of changing the brake caliper setup and sensors right? I mean retrofitting on bikes should be a option and should be available in the future I hope... But I know the quality of getting abs bike from the factory will have a gap, they have to bridge that gap...Originally posted by Pruthviraj View PostUnless and until you use it, the stability, the safety provided in rains, the peace of mind it provides is incomparable. ABS is going to be made mandatory for 2 wheelers in coming couple of years.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I second that. But the guys who use the fz filter have no engine problems.Originally posted by Pruthviraj View PostIf going with manufacturers recommendation about oil change interval then why not go with manufacturer's provided spares and instead go with which is not made for /not recommended/not made by the manufacturer for it ??
Btw, this rumor about the 300r, is it true? Coz that is one sexy bike.[emoji7]

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Oil change is totally dependent on your riding style, the manufacture would say 5000-7000km but its completely down to how one rides, if your always ripping the oil change interval will be less, if its moderate ripping I'd say 3000-3500kms is ideal if ur going to be below 6000-7000 rpm all the time then the svc oil change interval is advisable I suppose. But oil needs to be changed according to viscosity, smell, and colour, its done to prolong engine life.Originally posted by leech View PostI second that. Buddy, sometimes I think you are a bot. You've been repeating the same thing every time somebody types oil in this thread. Btw, aargee once changed his oil at 8k kms, and his engine is still running fine, last I heard.Last edited by leech; 06-27-2016, 12:47 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I am facing issues with the fuel pump now - at least that is what I think it is.
Bike refuses to start once in a while - and takes lots of cranking before it starts up once again. Today morning the bike started in the first attempt, but after 10 kms of riding, the bike stalled when I slowed down for a speed breaker, and then I had to fiddle with the bike for 10 mins before it started running once again.
This is most likely a fuel pump issue - as, from my personal experience, I have seen similar modes of failures for cars. Have to check with the Honda service guys if they can clean the pump for me once, to give it a try as an interim action.

250rr, 300r are definitely not coming. Honda India is totally driven by accountants and not passionate engineers now days and only Activas and Shines are in their good books unlike CBRs.Originally posted by leech View PostI second that. But the guys who use the fz filter have no engine problems.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
CBR's ABS setup is combined type, if you press rear brake padel the front caliper also gets operational along with the rear, it is quite complicated system to retrofit. Infact ECU might be having different programming for ABS bikes. So it is better if it is HONDA installed.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostBut u cannot retro fit it, I wanted to do that on my CBR but the service center said its not possible, but its a matter of changing the brake caliper setup and sensors right? Re: Honda CBR 250R
Truly said. Honda is truly ruin by "munshis". They are happy with the sale of 100+cc segment. They don't give a rat's ass about enthusiasts. They have just one 250. Take it or leave it. Same is the attitude of the sales guys.Originally posted by Pruthviraj View Post250rr, 300r are definitely not coming. They don't listen. They just show the one on display, which by the way they use as their test mule.
They were literally going head over heels for guys looking for shines and activas and there i was standing in the middle wanting to ask for color options.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
That's Honda attitude in India atleast. But hey, if you had bought a Benelli you would have gotten cake, and keychain. Then after a year you will be looking for aftermarket parts for your Chinese bike with Italian stickers, because the Chinese spares are too expensive.Originally posted by themachinehead View PostTruly said. That's slightly ignorant of you to say that. If it was in a funny way, then it maybe alright, but if you meant it, that's utterly wrong.Originally posted by leech View PostThen after a year you will be looking for aftermarket parts for your Chinese bike with Italian stickers

Well, the Benelli guys do complain about the quality and cost of the spares. I personally haven't ridden one.Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostThat's slightly ignorant of you to say that. If it was in a funny way, then it maybe alright, but if you meant it, that's utterly wrong.
About buying a benelli, no, I don't see myself getting one. It's going to take more than cake and exhaust note to sway me. I want a retard friendly bike, and I have one. Next upgrade is either a 650 from Honda/Kawasaki or the hayabusa. Which I will use to buy milk, give a ride to school kids on the way, and other activa like activities. And occasional touring.
