The CBR 250/350rr is totally different bike, its a twin cylinder, more focused for track riding and with a twin can expect anywhere between 36-42ps of power. The 300r is basically the 250 r given a facelift, slight power upgrade a few changes like dome, exhaust, etc...surely looks a lot more stylish than the current model... But this bike should have come out a year or two year ago...

Rightly said. 300r is basically 250r with slight power bump and few changes here n there.
And yes it should have been here a year ago. Design language even on the 300 is almost a decade old. I mean look at ninja 300 and yamaha r3. Even if they launch 300r now and price it close to duke 390 , sales will be disappointing.
Adding insult to the injury will be the BMW 310 launching in October. Competition in this segment is tremendous. And 6 month down the line it will only grow more fierce. And honda guys are still in slumber. Happy with their activas.

Yep.. But I think the 300r should be priced with the old model.. The 250/350rr could be priced with the r3 n n300 because of the twin nature. Honda are mostly only bothered with the 100-150cc segment, commuter and scooter. The CBR 150 and 250 are the least selling bikes this year

The BMW won't be free of niggles either. Add to that, the service network wont be as good as Honda's.

Basically, you must see what is more important - looks, style or the practicality. Most benelli or r3 owners would cringe at the thought of even a small crash. I took my CBR through tight gaps where a TVS 50 barely fit. Scraped my exhaust on 3 cars and 1 truck. Fell down and changed levers thrice. Handle bar twice. These repairs cost me 2.5k, if it was a r3 or ninja, it would be 10k at least.

You have a point. Any repair will cost you a bomb on the ninja especially. R 3 on the other hand i hear is acceptable.
CBR 250 is a very versatile bike. Jack of all trades.

True that, the CBR is tried and tested, the amount of service centers are ample. But I'm not sure about parts cost of r3... It sure is cheaper than the benelli 300, but difficult to compare a single with a twin. The 250/350rr is rendered, have not seen any video or test ride video abroad on it yet... Also is it possible to power our current CBR to the 300r?

Guys, If i ask service center guys not to change the engine oil, will it void my bike's warranty?

I am tired of lazy svc mech's who make excuses not to change the oil filter (it wasn't even changed during my first service). I am thinking about changing oil filter and oil (motul 7100) myself. My next service is scheduled on 10 august. By that time i would have done only 700-800kms on the new oil.

If oil change is necessary during each service, can i bring motul 7100 myself and ask them to use it instead of honda throttle?

Honda throttle holds well till 4000kms. I want to experiment with other brands now.
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

Not changing engine oil at the time servicing will void your warranty and don't give the ASC a chance to decline a warranty claim. Also if they don't change your oil filter, you buy it from other ASCs and provide them.
Oil is not a thing to experiment, so go with tried and tested brands and grades if you don't care about Co. provided oil. But it is mandatory to change oil and oil filter @ each servicing if warranty is needed. Otherwise you can go with full synthetic oils by Shell, Motul in the recommended grade.

I had mentioned what other brand i am planning to experiment with, ie: motul 7100. Wanted to see if it outlasts honda throttle. I was late by 6 and 4 days on my first and second service respectively so they already have enough reason not to honor any warranty claim

Spares of CBR is by no mean "cheap". You should see the quality of replacement parts, and their quality. . Compare the part cost of duke, you will know. If BMW priced at under 2 lacs, even it will be more vfm than CBR. Hoping BMW sticks to their quality. Barring the ultra smooth & reliable engine, nothing justifies the price tag of CBR in today's time. But, I still rate CBR as the best 'under 3L' tourer in india.

According to a dealer abroad who happened to leak the price of BMW 310 have quoted the price lower than the 390. If it's true then it's gonna be a treat for enthusiasts😃

Yes, you can ask them to change the oil that you have brought instead of stock oil, and inform this as your first point and mention the same in the service sheet that they used to fill.
And as per every senior/sensible riders suggestion, be polite when asking such demands. And if you have a good rapo with service center, 6 and 4 days outside the service due date will not be a problem during warranty claims.

I changed the oil filter and oil, but while removing the oil filter cover, one of the bolts broke, with three fourths of it stuck inside the housing.

I fixed back the remaining 3 bolts along with new filter and washer, but I have a slight leak from the oil filter area. It's very minute, noticeable only after wiping the area, and running the engine for some time.

What can be done about the stuck bolt?😠
