Re: Honda CBR 250R
The cooling efficiency will be dropping in such cases.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostHI,
So today I noticed the radiator it looks pretty messed up but I don't feel any difference in driving.

Shall I change it or is this ok to operate ?
P.S. My bike is 2011 model I don't recollect changing the radiator before.

Mohan
You can try straightening it out using safety pins or blades and all, or anyways its taken 6 years of abuse, might as well get a new one.
Cheers

Well it never crosses 3 bars under any condition that's why I'm skeptic.Originally posted by leech View PostIMHO, change it only if you experience 4+ bars on the temp gauge.

My bikes radiator is worse than yours, I did check with mech in SVC. If there is a problem with cooling change it is what he said. Temperature doesn't cross three bars for me.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostWell it never crosses 3 bars under any condition that's why I'm skeptic.

The only difference I feel now is that the fan spins for a longer time compared to before once I stop after a long drive.
I will be visiting the SVC in the next week sometime and see what could be done about it.

I second that. Even I found around 7000rpm to be the sweet spot on the highways.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostFor me its 111kmph at exactly 7000rpm I feel this is a sort of sweet spot, for my weight n height 6ft 2 , 95-100kgs.

Though the temperature bars won't increase per se, you can see the fan working over time or kicking in frequently as opposed to the normal cycle. Though the radiator indeed is gummed up pretty bad. First I would suggest you to use a tooth brush with soft bristles, dampen the radiator with water and let it rinse for a while, say 2 to 10 mins, splash water generously on the radiator and then start scrubbing slowly. This is a tedious and a time consuming process to get good results. This should reduce the grime baked in and allow the radiator to transfer heat better, which in turn reduces the event of fan kicking in frequently.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostHI,

Though I would recommend a radiator change, considering the age.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Am waiting for past 5 months for a bike.. Also am not interested in picking up dual tone cbr, more interested in Repsol edition only..
Took a test ride of the new 200 NS, compared to what i had previously, new NS 200 has been tamed down a lot.. the engine grunt is not there and also the exhaust note is dull not pleasing.. Previous NS had a unique exhaust note...
Anyway its going to be the same CBR 250r, there wont be any changes to the performance department.. only the exhaust and AHO feature will be there.
Which is not a big deal for me..
No face lift will be there.. So no point in waiting for it.Last edited by bondarun; 02-10-2017, 05:39 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
There is no economy range here, but as always sedate riding gives better fuel economy.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostWhat mileage will you get when riding at constant 7k RPM?

If you are looking for mileage, you could keep it at 80@5k rpm in 6th gear. People have got more 40kmpl with that. Anything more, it will drop down. You could except around 30-34 around 100 speeds.Last edited by kannanmr16; 02-10-2017, 06:30 PM.

Is CBR250 a very tall geared bike? Especially the 6th gear?Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostThere is no economy range here, but as always sedate riding gives better fuel economy.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Sedate riding ie between 90 to 110 kmph, on highways yields 40+ kmpl for a good condition CBR.Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostThere is no economy range here, but as always sedate riding gives better fuel economy.
