I agree. Thanks for your inputs sir.

Feel sorry for the rider everytim I watch this. Partially the showrooms are to blame as they apply tire shine to give it the looks. Oiled tires + cold rubber meeting a cold road = slip-thud-crash.

Was initially thinking of removing the text decals and leave only the Orange/White/Black paint scheme on the Repsol, but now I'm thinking twice about it. But I dont see if it will be worth all this.

One more option is sell the rear Conti to some friend having FZ16 or Fazer, this tyre behaves much better on them.
Thanks for the idea, I might give it a try.

Guys, one doubt, do spare me for now searching, accessing from mobile right now, if we were to change the contigos , which would be the best pair for the front and back.

IRC rear & Pirelli front is available at few places like Ahmadabad & Delhi,if not MRF front & Dunlop rear as MRF rear is still not tested by our tyre gurus.

wow, congrats man. I also love that new tri-color on CBR. You'll still keep ur 220f right. and what made you pick CBR 250R over KTM's offerings. 390, or even 200. Could've waited for the reveal of next FF Pulsar!

Thanks mate, refinement surely will be out of the world, i just hope it doesn't get too boring coming from the raw 220.

                          Thanks mate,
well several reasons not to go for duke 200/390

For starters, i am not a fan of naked bikes for riding, i love to sit and drool over it, but when riding the excessive wind blast and the wide handlebars make me uncomfortable, 10k kms on the fz gave me more than what i needed, and more over, the duke does not cater to my needs, I need a tourer machine which is good for other aspects as well, Duke is mainly in my views a fun machine, something to fool around with..for that it is perfect...especially the 390.

Coming to 390 , most will be tempted, heck even i was, with those killer price tag, but then when i thought of the cost of consumables and maintanence(mainly tires and chain) , it din't turn out to be so good, with the way i put up miles, i might need to blow 25k (a set of front and rear tyre) every 3-4 months, then the chain and all, and then the first point of all, I don't like riding naked bikes.

As of now , the 220 is still with me, just at a different location, she will be there for some time , if i can do something about it, it would never exchange hands at all.

                          Cheers

                            krish2778,

                            You're welcome

Nice choice for the color. Co-incidentally, this was the choice I made today too! After a long time deciding between Red and White. Unfortunately it will be some weeks before I can book this baby.

I travelled down to Chennai from Bangalore, to visit a local showroom again this time with parents. Also had a short test ride that left me grinning with enthusiasm like a madman.

Some snaps of the 2013 colours from the showroom -

Random 2013 models seem to have MRFs. I haven't tried pushing them too hard to give me an option to choose MRF but I think they will oblige.

The one on the left is MRF Zapper S, right is Contigo.

For the valve clearance check and shim replacement, did you have to leave the bike overnight at the ASC since the engine needs to be cool for this? My bike looks to be due for a shim replacement as well and not sure if the bike is to be left overnight, or is it enough to bring in the bike to ASC in the morning and get this done by aound 3 or 4 PM...
