On topic, I upgraded to Nightbreakers and lovin' it - highway illumination is a charm and especially enjoying that moment when some cager is approaching me with high beams on, and I flash my high beams at him - I can literally see the 'wtf' expression on his face!

BTW...I have 2 ultra-bright 3W projector LEDs lying around. Bought them off ebay to use as pilots, but they have a very narrow/spot focus, so not much use when fitted in the stock assembly. Any suggestions how they can be better utilized? Posting a pic for reference...

Both NB'S & extreme vision bulbs provides great illumination than the stock ones but when comes to the reliability philips scores the best. My friend has NB'S in his 220 they performed well for just 4 months after that started loosing its illumination capabilities now he is planning to install HID kit.

^^ Well I'm driving car from 4-5 years so have a decent idea about gear shifting and all, as well as I have decent cycling skill. So bought a bike which actually suites me and learning on bike like CBR 250R is far better than low cc as it has much smoother Clutch and all. Of course its my very own personal opinion.

on a precautionary note.. if you want to learn on a cbr or a 1000cc thats upto you.. just ask someone who can handle such a bike to be along side and also try learning over an empty stretch and not regular roads... as power dilevery is lenier and quick a small twist that might kick you cpl of meters on a splendour will be like 5 times on this one.. plus the added 70kg weight...

ride safe.. practise on deserted roads.. apply for learning license.. avoid going on main roads till you get your permanent license...

and just one thing in mind " people who think they are god on roads are always one a way ride "

you are young... but be matured.. its a powerful machine and typically an extreme class for learning vehicle for roads in india...

before you master the art or acceleration... master the art of braking first...

initally after running 28SMD's in my pilots i was bored and wanted something more powerful but the housing does not have space for a 38 SMD or bigger.. i assume.
i was planning the same route to pick up these high powerd LED's however after seeing in one of my friend's bike it was a turn off..

what now my light looks like is a complete white eyes on either sides with 28 SMD's as they have a beam throw everywhere and looks cool
however with these they were shining bright from front but no light seen from side neither good looks...

sadly nutin much can be done with these besides you can just pass them on to someone or just sell em off locally..

this time go for a 28 SMD ..

mine is 28 SMD plus Osram NB's.. probably one of the first NB's in CBR.. and going against what people said.. my NB's are still going strong as ever. touch wood...
bright as before and loves dark tarmac...

and yeah the dipper to oncoming traffic must be mind boggling for them...

Well said buddy. I will definitely follow those steps. For now I only take out my CBR on open road on early mornings. 5.30AM to 6.30AM(Max). Max speed 50-55km. Just querying a bit about the License procedure here in Kolkata. ASAP I will get my Learner license.

And for me safety is first preference. Anyways keep correcting me wherever I'm wrong.

No idea about Extreme Vision, coz I never used it. Osram NB is my 1st upgrade from stock and it's nearly ~25% improvement over stock with better spread of beam compared to stock.

Are the Philips bulbs better in this aspect? IMO, companies (Philips/Osram) are trying to squeeze as much light as possible from a filament drawing the same 55W of power. Reliability will definitely take a hit!

As i said earlier philips scores best when it comes to the reliability both are good & has same illuminating properties .
Both comes as H7 (12v55w) which is the best replacement for the stock ones & for the 220 projectors the illuminating capabilities are further improved say 40% more than the stock ones.

That needs lots of hunting around for the right parts...that has to wait some months.

Today was my leh trip in Bangalore.
[To contextualise it I am a bit of a house mouse who rarely goes out in the elements, so the worst element I did face was dust]

So today[19/7/2013] I had to go the state public library for some research work, so I don my deni jacket helmet and scoot off.

Stuck in the busy Bangalore traffic, all I did was strike a tune in drumming my fuel tank and exchange remarks with the passing aut drivers.

                            Then it happened.

Like the awaking of a sleepy bear the cloud burst and released tons of water over the hot city.

Me? I was still drumming a tune when the rain hit me in the face, flipping my visor down with its force, hitting the engine block to be promptly evaporated with a nice frying sound.

So the water starts pooling around my feet and the traffic ambles by, I follow. The water trickles down my clothes and steam arises through the fairings.

Reaching a nondescript bridge, the traffic wears thin I gun my engine and tuck down, my visor clouds up.

Upon a curve the contigo tyres slip a little bringing me to a drift like position, I put my foot down balancing myself,

The yellow stock light reflects back from the rain drops, like stars of the night sky. The city is below me

Towering above me are the skyscrapers and as in a valley, I drift through them on the bridge.

I was able to source a single piece of the Philips XV at a local shop. One has to look around for shops selling car items. The ones selling electrical stuff will usually have boards advertising the same.
I searched the philips website for dealers in my city and went to his shop directly though, so I didn't have to search around.
