The vinyl won't come off the heat shield because it doesn't heats up...there is a gap between sheild and actual muffler which prevents the heat shield to get heated...so go on and get it vinyled!!!!
Not only is there a gap between the shield and the muffler but the underside of the shield has an Aluminium foil. Sadly if you buy a new shield from the spares there wont be any such foil in it.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Hi somen, To be honest its more of sound.... not a big gain in performance but yes its looks good and weights much less than the stock muffler.

I replaced my heat shield recently. Hadn't noticed if there was any alluminium foil or not.

I too have the same query but I guess the Duke hugger will fit CBR250 more easily since Duke has 150 section tyres. I think 200NS has 130 section tyre, not sure though.

                    • Mileage Query here guys...

Got my 250R ABS around 4 days ago with an empty tank, filled her with 600 rupees worth Shell (Appx 8.1L) - the fuel gauge indicated 4 bars.
After four days of riding (total 120KM on a reset trip meter) now my last bar is blinking!
AFAIK from the forum discussions - the last bar blinks when there's roughly 3L of fuel left in the tank - which means I have consumed 5L in travelling 120kms - which translates to a pathetic 24 KPL!

My riding style has been as suggested in this thread - No lugging, keeping the engine RPMs at 3500+, mostly riding at 4200-4500RPM, shifting at 5000RPM, occasionally accelerating to 8000RPM and cruising at 100+ for a minute or two. Primarily using it for commuting to office, moderate traffic.

Any hints as to why I am getting such a poor economy? How can I improve it? I have seen people reporting 34-36 km/L in city and 38+ on highways...
