Paid a visit to JC Road for some nifty mods on my c'beer to make it something of a better tourer.
1. Added twin panniers (sideboxes)
Rs.1100 + Rs.200 for fitting.
Make: Studds Vault.
Colors: Available only in matte black (no color choices - bad!)
- They're pretty small but look good on the CBR. Tried a couple of bigger boxes but anything bigger than these sideboxes spoiled the sporty look and made the rear seat uncomfy for the wifey. Anyway, these 'Vaults' fit my bill perfectly - One box holds my camera, chargers, sunglasses, gloves and the Xena alarm snugly, the other box happily carries a lunchbox, a 1L bottle of water, and a can of coke to boot. The fitting is very sturdy but installation is slightly tricky on the RH side - it required a small slot of 30mm X 5mm to be cut on the black matte plastic underneath the grabrails - though it's not visible unless you are looking specifically for the cut.
PICS:
This is a pic of the slot cut on the RHS to fit the panniers:
2. Added platform footrests for the pillion (detailed photos coming in a few hours)
Rs.140 (Rs.70 x 2) + 100 for fitting.
Make: Jugaad!
Colors: Black
- This one was on request from wifey! Had to made a jugaad arrangement from a Super XL foot plate, which was bolted on to the existing footpeg with an arrangement of clamps. The result? A sturdy platform-footrest. The trade-offs? The rear foorpegs can no longer be folded away - which doesn't bother me anyway, save for the tacky looks.
PICS:
This is how the footrest looks:

3. Added twin horns (Minda twin horns)
Rs.450 + Rs.120 for fitting. Had to be extra vigilant lest the ignorant mechanic screw up the fins on the radiator.
@gopakumar: If you want a pic of the assembly - will click later once I am out of office and PM you.
4. Extra padding and Seat covers
Rs.550+ a set of grips free!Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

since i have bought CBR250R.I am thinking of putting some vinyl stickers on it. So i made this.what do you suggest.
You may also consider re-painting the alloys and silver cowls to Orange - a perfect match for the Repsol decals? (Don't have access to PS now so can't create a mockup)Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

That's very close to what I meant! Though you could a lighter shade of orange...but again, that's entirely my personal opinion...others are free to suggest their own designs!
Twin horns won't be too much of a drain. Afterall, horns are used barely for a few seconds. My 2008 Gladiator had a twin-horn setup on a 5AH battery - never felt a difference!Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. @bbsrailfan: are those panniers waterproof..?? and do you also use saddlebags..?? because if you are going on a long tour (double seat) these panniers will be too small, and you may need something bigger to hold the luggage, so i wanna ask is it possible to put saddle bags over them (since they are small), u know....just in case...

The panniers were marketed as waterproof and come with a rubber gasket inside - though I haven't actually tested their efficiency.
Another shocker for me was when I checked the studds website - they have Matt Red, Matt Silver and Matt Black colors available to buy online - I had always wanted the red ones
Regarding saddlebags - I never actually used them, as I mostly wear my backpack (if it's light) or tie it using bungee cords to the rear seat (if it's heavy).
But these panniers are pretty slim and don't protrude too much on the sides - I guess saddlebags meant for wide bikes can go over them easily.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!
