When the pads wear of sound wil come from he pas of it scrubbing against the plate. Another metjod is to inspect the assembly. There is space.for checking the pad life.
If you are having spongy breaks chances are air in rhe system.

Screeching noise will be there & U can always make visual inspection after certain kms, also one of the signs is the low level of break fluid,if there are no leakages.

Keeping my brakes tied overnight has helped in improving the performance somewhat...got a chance to open up on the ring road today, and the brakes did perform well.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

          Engine and Performance
th exclusively and to some extent 5th gears are meant only for highways, and that too once you are in sweet spot of 6k and above. Highways are effortless. 110/120 kmph cruising is possible even though I remain in 90-110 kmph zone (depends on individual comfort level).

          Radiator Fins
          :
As soon as you get your bike, get a radiator guard installed. Never ever allow the person washing the bike to use pressurized jet to wash the radiator. This will instantly bend the fins and reduce cooling efficiency.

              • I have a question, does the bike pull off by just releasing the clutch in 1st gear(like on the Duke) or does it require the rpms to be in 2~3k range when pulling off from a stop?

It requires the rpm to be above the 2k range AFAIK.

I have read people saying that the CBR has a very 'forgiving clutch'. What exactly do they mean by that?

I guess that's because its a cable clutch and not hydraulic. I'm not sure though.

I guess thats because the rear does not gets locked up even at very high rpm. Suppose i am riding the bike at 60-70 in say 2nd or third gear and i downshift to first then the rear wont lock up due to high rpm. I find the clutch on cbr250r very smooth.

Pls donot check if the rear locks or not, the bike surely locks up rear, even for acceleratoring if U drop down a gear or for engine braking U drop down without matching with revz, it surely locks up.
Forgiving clutch must mean very user friendly clutch, the one like ours with smooth action.
