IMO, your current ASC doesn't seem to be properly trained in diagnosing issues. As suggested, you should try a different ASC and avoid the current one. Also make sure you are not complaining about the usual vibes (with no rattling 'tic tic' metal pinging sound) because no ASC would acknowledge it as an issue. Let us know how it goes.

Went for a short ride today. Noticed that my top speed has dropped somewhat. Previously i used to touch 130 with ease, even with a pillion. But today, hard I pushed, she wouldn't cross 125. I am at 4k now so 2nd service is still 2k kms to go.

Check the chain slack and rubber air pressure. . Major culprits for above mentioned symptoms

            usual vibes ?
i have vibes which exist from idle. as revs increases till 6k i feel tingling in my hands and legs. At this point the bike asks for gear shift as if i reached the top rpms. If you continue to push vibes increases atleast three folds and starts in inner thigh region too near tank and below parts.

what point do you fell vibes and how are they felt ? can you give a clear description how normal vibes start and how they increase. This would be very helpful.

This happened to me as well. I could not cross 128km/hr(on speedo) with a pillion. But then I got the chain tightened and ensured I had correct air pressure. I found the difference - touched 136km/hr(on speedo) with a pillion. So I guess tightening the chain and correct tyre pressure should do the trick for you.

Thanks guys. One more question - just to be on the safer side, should I replace my oil till the next service? I have covered around 3K kms and still have quite some time to go before the next svc. I am thinking of using SS oil which will last me around 2k kms after which, I can go for my 2nd service.

to be true honda oil is just fine till your next service.. get done with your free services and later move to a better oil in same grade.. FS only.. no need for SS now when 3k have been done with FS already..

rest your call mate.. a few hundred bucks wudn't be worth the utility...

The case with my bike is that:

                    1) The engine is smooth till 5000 rpm, no vibrations of any level (except the first gear; I always up-shift to 2nd at 4000 rpm).
                    2) At 5000-6000 rpm, you start feeling some (easily tolerated) vibrations (buzzing to be exact) and also the feeling that the engine needs you to up-shift (but its just our mind wanting to limit).
                    3) After 6000 rpm, the vibrations start to become more noticeable but still tolerable if you hold the bars relaxed.
                    4) Going beyond 8000 rpm, it becomes severely intense and intolerable for a relaxing ride, no matter what you do. This is when your fingers go numb, feet uncomfortable, gentleman's area no more gentle, and the ride no longer enjoyable.

I am not a speed freak and I don't like my engine fully stressed up, so 7500 rpm at top gear is my limit on highways. For everyday city commuting, 4000 rpm (lower cutoff) to 5500 rpm (upper cutoff) are the sweet spots.

In a nutshell, my point is that the usual vibes are purely mechanical (you need to understand how it varies with engine speed) and definitely not accompanied by any noise.

                            Hello,

I am about to purchase my CBR soon, so as a quick query what can be the checklist before I take delivery of the bike?

                            my personal check list is
                            1) Ensure mineral oil [not sure of the technical term used by the service guys]
                            2) Ensure electricals, tire balanced wheels, coolant etc.
                            3) Check engine? but I am not sure how, many members have posted about valve clearance etc, I am a complete noob in this, please help me
                            4) anything else?

Sorry for the rushed message, spent the whole week arranging the funds.
after that any additional tips? [I am kind of spending serious hard earned money and I do not want to be cheated at the last moment]

p.s any good SVC's in bangalore?
I know ananda honda in hosur road

CBR comes with FS oil as standard. If you want to switch to mineral oil during your run-in, you can do so after a few hundred kms on the odo. Atleast that's what i followed.

You need to check for abnormal sounds and rattles from engine and body. Ensure that the fairings are tight. Also ensure there is no free play in the throttle and clutch.

Valve clearance shouldn't be an issue in new bikes.

Regarding SVC, Saphire Honda and City Honda are reliable.

Thanks, regarding the mineral oil, can start using it from day 1 of run in? I am a complete novice in the run processes, and given the danger of FS oils glazing the pistons, I rather avoid that. But this will cost be correct? If I request for mineral oil? if so, how much?
