lets see what the ASC does.. also check for other nuts and bolts.. sometimes the vibes creep from somewhere but felt at the other point.. ( if it creeps from engine it generally is felt maximum towards the ouer loose ends.). some thing like oscillations... travelling of waves..
I will keep you informed. BTW did you complete your service? What about the fork oil?

I used to ride my bike in Pune after I had bought it in May 2011 (yeah, first batch blah blah). The first time I took my wife on the pillion, she was all praise for the comfort etc. Then, she asked me a question that had me speechless - " Maneesh, this is such an expensive, hi-tech bike. Then why does it sound like a Sumeet mixer? You know, when you increase the power (=pulling revs), it is EXACTLY like my mom's mixer being switched from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. That tak tak rrrrrnnnnnnggggh sound is just like the mixer knob moving to 2, 3 and 4 and back to 2. I hope the engine is fine. Such a nice bike with a Sumeet sound. Very nice. I am sure women would like this bike".

2 years of flawless service have taught me that my bike is fine with its Sumeet mixer engine vocals. Vibes are normal in a machine, esp in a bike and esp more so in a bike with a short stroke motor. Some can be removed, others have to be lived with. Remarkable similarity with marrying a woman, I must say...

Well, feeling is mutual here. I have a pre ride ritual of starting the CBR for warming up about a minute before I ride out. By the way it sounds very similar to our BBMP garbage pick up vehicle sound, I guess an Ape - Piaggio. Wife and kids think that, it makes neighbors come out with trash bags. Though I have not seen anybody coming out yet, I too feel that they may be considering it . I am planning to put an after market slip on exhaust, but should have done that when CBR was new. Now that everyone knows the sound, changing the sound (most slip-ons are louder?) a bit difficult. By the way, a good traffic police acknowledges me
about hundred meters from my home, just before I rev up to destination. Don't want to disappoint many with new sound yet.

Even my bro is visiting Blr around mid-may and the CBR will be a great shocker for him (He wouldn't ever dream that I bought one ). I just wanted everything to be butter-smooth when he is riding (rather, raping!) my ceeber. Yesterday I opened some 4 hours on her as the ASCs were all closed, and I could no longer live with the creaking tank.
Removed all the bolts associated with the tank, prepared some washers (had to cut an old silicon cover belonging to an old phone), and inserted a washer underneath every metal layer. That shut her up for good. Rode her for 30+ kms y'day on average roads and again on my way to office today. No sounds yet.

My clutch seems to have lost it's travel, need to get it adjusted. Chain cleaned and lubed. The engine still feels a bit rough, I think it's because of the oil. Change in fuel didn't improve the smoothness.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!
