Grip is fine fine, not extraordinary. Haven't had the chance to test them in wet. Older Conti's ones were abysmal in wet, especially after squaring off starts after 8k -9k kms on the odo. Details below.

Thanks. Overdrive used to publish kmph/1000rpm values for bikes when they tested them; they don't anymore. Along with power and torque curves, these values give us an idea about optimum up-shifting points. As far as vibrations are concerned, I think they are tolerable up to 7k - 7.5k rpm beyond which they get pronounced (through bar end weights and foot-pegs) and you have to back off the throttle once in a while to avoid your fingers going numb.

I did approx 200 km highway trip yesterday. With most of the cycle parts and fluids replaced (tires, chain set, oil, oil filter, shims, brake pads, coolant etc) recently, the bike was as good as new. I up-shifted at 6k - 7k rpm throughout the ride. Vibrations through handlebars and foot-pegs were apparent after 7.5 k rpm; which is approx 120 kmph in 6th gear. Red-lined too a few times, reached 120 kmph in 4th gear. Couldn't go beyond 130 kmph due to traffic. Long curves is where I expected a better grip from new tires, especially rear and they disappointed every time. Doing the long curves above 100 kmph, I ran wide a couple of times; backed off for the rest of ride to 80 - 90 kmph in curves.

That wouldn't actually help, as we are facing the wind which is blowing sideways and not head-on. Leaning & Ducking is only useful when you have winds hitting you head-on and you want to go against the wind to achieve top speed.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

This diagram should help in deciding wind terminology. Remember, it is relative to the wind on your nose i.e. the bike's nose.

If what you are posting is correct about the traction of Contis then I can surely say that PSD which is supposed to be better in wet is definately better even in dry also,on our groups last ride I was easily taking long turns in excess of 120,even though I am having 130/80/17 PSD on rear.Front PSD is also on the way from Ahmadabad a dear friend has shipped it from there, will post about its grippy nature after 800/1000 kms.

To all blessed people who ride CBR250R,
Today - my addressing this lucky group says it all - quick early ride back to home was amazing with shifts at about 6K for lower gears. It was like Cringer turning to Battle Cat (hope some of you watched/read He-man)
When I reached the destination- was feeling like a GP rider wining his home GP (thanked everybody for that, just like winning lap).

Now back to earthly things -
              Beautifying the CBR
Like all you kings who want to massage and maintain their elephant and horse, I am also there with my mount.
Usage review : I am using Motomax Dash board polish - for CBR head (cockpit), ear back, ear stem (ear = mirror), rubber parts near handle, plastic control covers and all other matte finish parts.
This gives good shining look that lasts for about 7-10 days - depends. Soon after application it is slippery but dries in 10-15 minutes. Can't say that his attracts dust - but dust appears more clearly as after dash board polish - the surface looks new and clean.

                Talking of motomax...

If I say I used the cheapest of all on the cbr ...

Waxpol.. dabba polish for painted surface. . And waxpol vinyl for matte finish parts.. and after a fresh polish job its better than the new ladies parked in showroom...

I dont deny that expensive polishes arent good but somehow.. 12 years with waxpol has won my heart. . Fromm my rx to cbz and bull to now cbr....

And the after effects on 11 years of usage on the cbz... is here. ..

the 1:18 finish is certainly better than this one.. i have a few cars of 1:12 metal models...

however this runs on 4 AA batteries and the motorcycle needs to be charged.. has a rechargeable battery inbuilt..
also it works on a gyro so runs in a straight line on 2 wheels without any support and also take turns without falling.... thats the most amazing part...

the remote has a turbo button that actually boosts the speed of the bike...
