I recently switched from the stock 10W30 oil to Motul 10W40 and the vibrations have increased 10 folds. Which is the best oil for the CBR? Should we simply stick to stock?

It should not happen so. I had used motul in my zma. Got smoother gearshifts. Also got 7100 for my CBR. Are you using ss. I remember 5100ss also comes in 10W40.

arjunb25 : it is not a good idea to top up one side fork and replace oil of another, because-- (1) you before topping up you dont know how much oil is inside that, unless you drain and refill the same oil... (2) old oil in one fork and new oil in another fork, not good bro.

its better not to create and imbalance, fork oil does not cost too much, its better to always replace oil in both forks together, even if one is fine.

I will be changing my Ruby Red CBR250R's panels to the Tricolor ones in a few days. If anyone wants the red panels I would be happy to courier it to them at a negotiable cost plus shipping.
I need some help with getting the Tank painted in the Heron blue color since the fuel tank itself costs 8k and I dont want to buy that. Has anyone got their bike's panels painted from Honda? How good was the finish? Worth going for?

You can get it painted. However you wont get the sticker with a gloss coat over it. With complete different shade it becomes road illegal. . You will have to get the rc re-endorsed..

The resale value will drop too.. if you wanna try visual mods try in what you have. . No point giving it a complete change. Why tri color when spending money
. Try something unique...

1st mod : go for PSD 130/80.. better grip than conti's and mrf + extra 10mm tyre height..(total circumference changes (more distance per revolution)) it will make a noticeable diffrence in
the rpm..
Won't the less width of the tire lead to lesser stability at high speeds?

Remove both fork leg, throughly clean them, install the kaput oil seal, assemble the fork & while dropping the springs inside ensure that the tightly wound side is at bottom.Fill 330 ml oil exactly and you are ready to ride. These bottles come with 350 ml oil priced @ 128/- per bottle,U might get 10% discount on it.Also oil seal is consumable & not covered under warranty.

Which oil you used ,Motul india has recommended 7100 10w40 FS but if you have poured 300V 10w40 it is also good.If it is among these 2 & you are not satisfied with the feel of the bike then get in touch with Motul India.

I was also under same misconception but then N250 capable of doing 170 kmph on speedo atleast is also comes with 130 section tyre so went ahed with it.Besides it is PSD having soft rubber compound which is much much better than stock Contigos.

This is the oil I'm using.

The vibrations have increased for sure. I compared it with a stock (oil) CBR. My mech claims that my engine is knocking (due to probable piston damage) but it seems to be running fine. He although wasn't sure and said could only confirm the same once he opened up the engine, which I'm weary to do based on a hunch. It's just that the vibrations have increased a lot ever since I moved from stock oil to Motul. It no longer goes above 8.5K rpm in the 6th gear (135km/hr top whack). All other gears (1st to 5th) it goes up to redline though. Not sure what to do now. Currently I'm just letting things be, unless it becomes obvious that something is messed up.

Thanks. Let me rephrase the question -
Basically, I don't want to ride with a brake engaged for obvious reasons. I am riding with rear brake pedal slightly pressed (it happens when I rest my foot) with brake light is still off. If brake light is OFF I am assuming that brake(s) is not engaged. Hope I am OK?

At the risk of being ousted from this thread permanently, I must say your stance is wrong. Place the foot ball on the peg and not the ankle/middle portion of the feet.
As far as your perception goes, with your feet position, you run a risk of jabbing the rear in case of an emergency.
