    Ok go ahead.
Ha ha ha... Seriously funny. Almost farted trying to suppress my laughter in office.
One more thing, does the CBR visor retail for 360 rupees? If yes, I might just buy one for some customization.
    Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Will check with my conmen and let you know by tonight

2 hours later I get a call from the service guys:

HSS: Sir, your exhaust shield is dented beyond repair, it can't be painted.
Me: Ok, leave it and complete other tasks.
        (hang up)

        Two minutes later...

HSS: Sir, we will fit new exhaust shield for you.
        Me: How much?
        HSS: Nine hundred something
Me: No thank you, put my old shield back.
        (hand up)

        Again, five minutes later:
HSS: Sir, we can't fit old shield, the clamp is broken.
Me: (angry) What the hell...who asked you to mess around with it?
HSS: Sir, we will give you new shield for 600
        Me: (WTF!!!!) Make it 400
HSS: 400 not possible sir, last 600
        Me: Ok go ahead.

Now, that's the most effing, weirdest, yet hilarious thing I ever came across.
First, in all probability, they broke my exhaust shield before the first call itself.
Second, they try to con me with inflated rates,
and third, since they don't have the option to fit back the original part, they put across a fictitious "offer" of a lower price.
(I remember @theironhorse99 stating that the exhaust shield was priced at around 600)

        Conmen!!!

front hose going bust is really dangerous stuff. lucky you bro it did not cause any mishap.

regarding the exhaust sheild. it was indeed 583 rupees as i got it replaced for the black CBR ( prakash sir's ) bike now the new ones ( black ) they have hiked the price to 900 for god knows what reason. it costs them same to produce in bulk weather its silver or black paint.

however i assume they might have old stock with mrp 500 change on it which they got hold off and they agreed on 600.

.. sorry was away from forum since 15 days i guess. was busy setting up my projector and home theatre room....

its completely ok to wash the bike with pipe. and home wash dosent have enough psi pressure to blow off anything. WE RIDE IN HEAVY RAIN TOO. the motorcycles are made such way to handle light to heavy downpour. anything extremely abnormal might cause and issue. reat all is good. wash it. let it dry. just dont pressure wash the keyhole. even for the fule tank there is a seperate drain plug.

just keep the lady shining and ride safe.

          Bhai, can you confirm?

          Steps below:

First step is to procure a CBR 250R's wind shield. Its MRP is Rs 357 as on 05-10-2013. see below picture.

It didn't go bust suddenly, but gradually I felt the brakes fading. I checked the reservoir window and noticed low fluid levels, but the brakes continued degrading afterwards and further inspection revealed a leak from near the radiator.

Yes he is a crazy tourer same as me. the difference is, he keeps travelogues where my rides are just unplanned and impulsive. i go for a long ride whenever i want to or feel like it. there were even days when i wandered in nameless roads without food or water.

regarding the riding gear, i do have enough protection (jacket, gloves, boots, helmets) except proper riding pants. me and sandeep are facing same issues regarding finding good gear from here where we live.

on sunday we went to amaravathi. photos will be uploaded by sandeep hopefully.

Hello fellow CBR owner's, I need your insights and suggestions on this one.

Few of you must be already facing this, here goes:

After 8000kms on my odometer I started getting a distinct metallic noise like that of a woman's anklets.
Its present at all rpm's. As the time for which the bike was running increases the noise also increases.

I did consult the SVC guys on this issue. But they tell all CBR's have this sound and its perfectly OKAY..!!!

But now I can no more bear that sound... Its very distracting.
I did check other CBR's and they did have. But the bikes that clocked fewer kms on the odo had no noise.

Do any of you have why that noise and how to get rid of it?

Fortunately, not yet...touchwood. Inching close to 11k and haven't come across anything as bad as I have read here. Sometimes I do hear a jingle from the crank case, but it's momentary and disappears after a spirited ride.

I am facing the faint rattling sound. And the bike vibrates a lot at higher RPMs(sometimes more than my RTR. :P). It is the symptomp of Shim change. My mech says, ride it for another 1000 k. Rip it hard, then we will change the shim. And I came to know, Shims are not available readymade. They take measurements and make it. Takes at least 2days. Don't know, if he was bluffing.
Another thing is, it takes 1km to heat the engine to 3 bars. And it stays there for the next 50kms.

Sambit, The shim sound is different from rattling sound. It's a high-pitched jingling sound (as someone pointed out - like a lady's anklets/ghungroo!!!). Rattling is a different issue and not necessarily related to shims. Try tightening all fairing bolts and mount points and cleaning the chain/sprocket - that will help in reducing rattling significantly. Regarding the availability - yes, it is partially true - they will have to take the precise measurements for your vehicle and procure the correct size of shims. Some service centers have the required sizes readily available, some will make you wait.

....and it will ideally stay there till the next 500 kms of nonstop riding. Anything above three bars, and you have a reason to worry.
