Thank you... And can I expect better mileage after 2nd service?
What is the general mileage figure others are getting?

If you maintain 65-80kmph at 6th gear you can expect 35-40kmpl highway conditions, cities 30-32kmpl if you keep the revs below 6000rpm.

Progressively as the engine clocks in more kilometers, you can feel the engine getting smoother and smoother. Usually, just service doesn't determine the mileage, it's how the engine is getting bedded in during the run in phase. Mileage also depends on the the speed you're going and the throttle, wide open throttle usually will result in mileage drop. The CBR returns a good 34+ ridden at around 80 to 100 in highways, and being prudent on the throttle. Stretch her wings and you can expect a rough figure of 24 to 29.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          THE END

Guys I will be doing a 600km trip soon, pending a service, I want to know how does one check for the life of the battery? I don't want to be stuck if the battery fails.

Check the voltage. Should be above 12.6v with the engine off, and 14.2v-14.4v with the engine running.

Change the battery every two years. Batteries, in my experience, last 2-3 years only. In colder climates, they can last 4 years with regular bike usage, but down south, in hot and humid conditions, I've gotten only 2-3 years max.

Even in the bad light these pictures shines a lot. Thanks for posting. I always search for travelogue threads with CBRish mood. And what could be better than a original cherry red colored CBR. This is my favorite CBR color till date.

                    Great. Keep posting such photos.

I am quoting one of my answers here..

Secondly check your throttle cable/tube since you had a fall, the plastic notch might be cracked/broken causing the ball end on one the cables not getting properly seated and can cause notchy throttle cable response, do check that too.

Find out the VIN - Vehicle Identification Number stamped on the steering stem/head.

                      9th character - A - January, B - February, C - March........M - December10th character - A - 2010, B - 2011, C - 2012, D - 2013 .... G 2016

My CBRs battery is still the stock one i.e exide and I have never charged it, never ever. Bike still starts on a single crank and even though I have left my bike for about 30-45 days quite a few times but with terminals disconnected and it never failed. Still i doubt, exides lasts this long?
