Only turning the ignition of would the fan turn off. The engine kill switch is to kill the engine not power to the entire electrical circuit. Secondly, if you feel a small twitchy thing under your leg that feel a little vibey when the engine is off means your radiator fan is probably on.

The fuel pump primes for hardly three seconds and they aren't any source for vibration at all. The fact that you mentioned you stopped the bike with the ignition on and the with the kill switch off and something vibey is nothing but the humble radiator fan doing its work. Nothing to panic about. Since you were used to riding the REs, you'll get used to riding your more technically advanced bikes in the days to come.

Same with mine. Fan goes off once kill switch is off since day 1. Many of us can't have faulty bike having same experience with the fan being on and off.

Actually, in my case the fan was running as I stalled the engine with the "kill switch on" and ignition on, just entering my portico, the clutch stall. Usually, I always stop through the engine kill switch and then proceed to the ignition turn off sequence. Since and because the bike had already stalled with the fan running, I might have misjudged the fact that the fan was indeed running with the engine kill switch off. Thank you so much fellas, else I would have been still under the impression I did turn that kill switch off. How did I miss that one. Deathwing that's a Fireblade, darling.
      @sanjaynk15 @RedWingRider appreciate it guys.

Thanks Everyone, Yes the radiator is not running if the Kill switch is OFF. I feel that little twingy thing only when the engine is HOT and both the Igntion Key and Kill Switch is in ON position. I got used in my RE that, in signals kill the engine using Kill switch and immediately switch it to ON position and waiting for the signal to turn Green.

Now another question. What is the best way to deal with this situation. In the signals leave the bike with Kill switch ON or OFF. Keeping it ON will obviously reduces the engine heat but wont that put load on your battery?

Don't keep the kill switch on while waiting in signals. It is not necessary. I just turn the kill switch to on when there are 10 seconds left at a signal. The CBR has one of the best cooling systems. Even if you keep the kill switch on, keep the fan running with the engine off, it won't reduce the temperature because the coolant won't circulate from the engine to radiator and back when the engine is off. Only the hot coolant which is inside radiator will cool down to some extent. So there is really no need to keep the fan running, just turn it on when you have 10 seconds or so.

You're right on the battery part. Yes, though the fan kicks in, the fan draws the power from the battery, which is a drain on the battery, if the engine is switched off. My pattern varies from signals to signals but usually what I do is I never turn the engine off if the signal is like 10 to 15 seconds. Upwards of 20 seconds, I turn the kill switch off.

One simple trick to reduce the load on your battery, if it bothers you is, if you feel the radiator fan is running during or at a signal, keep the engine running, and once the fan stops, proceed to the kill the engine with the kill switch off, depending on the duration of your signal. If your fan is running at a signal with less than 15 seconds, there is no point, switching off and then turning on. Let the engine run and the radiator fan do its job. Above 20 seconds, irrespective of fan on or off, turn off the engine, it's more than enough to give the engine some breathing space.

          Cheers!

          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Guys, is a radiator guard necessary for this bike as the front fender is a little small? I also found about fender extender for the front fender. Any input?

The cost of the radiator is around 5.5 to 6k , cost of the guard ranges about 1.5-2k , I'd say it's a good investment.

                Hi Guys,

Planning to replace my 7year old P220 with a CBR250R. Couldn't get a TD bike, so I am raising few questions here.

                1. Riding posture - In comparison with P220, is the posture too forward leaned or is it like P220?
                2. Do the CBR150R and 250R share the same fairing or the 250's is bigger?
                3. Are there any new CBR250 getting launched anytime soon. I Liked the paint schemes of the previous gen CBRs much than the current stickered one, which is a huge turn off for me.

                  Coming from the 220 days.

Yes, the riding stance is sport. Remember the term sport cruiser
Unfortunately, no the CBR 150 and CBR 250R's fairings cannot be interchanged.
If my "prediction" on this would be true, the CBR can see a slight bump in pricing and rolled out with a new BS IV spec variant.
Spares are not easily available for the most part, and it only aggravates if you happen to stay more than 80 kms one way from the ASS. Make sure the dealer you source it is from is at least a reputed one. Don't ever get a bike from standalone or branches of the big showrooms. They are as good as Bank of Busted ATM with no cash.

                  Cheers!

The seating position of CBR is more towards sportier as compared to P220 but not like an R15. CBR is a sports-commuter.
And about 150R and 250R well both shares a lot plastic parts but not all, i have seen many 150R in my city with repsol and pure black scheme.

Honda has been very quiet and secretive about the new cbr. Cbr 150 might get a new fascia. And about 250, can't tell. Who knows they might continue with the same models too.

Hey all. Just completed 900km. A worrisome sound has cropped up from the front disc. Sounds like the pads are slightly scraping against the disc. What could be the reason for this? Should I go to the ASC? Get it checked out?

Might be due to rains in Bangalore. I have experienced this many times but it just has been mud particles on the disc plate. If it is caused by mud, the sound will fade away after few kms of running.Try pressure washing. Even pressurised air will help clean this.

I took my CBR 250R Repsol delivery today and drove to office for about 15 Kms.
I am not sure if this was discussed already and wanted to share my observation. After driving about 20 mins I stopped at a signal and killed the engine using kill switch but leaving the ignition key ON. After few seconds I felt little vibrations on the bike. I turned off the ignition Key they were gone. They came back immediately after turning ON the key again.

I suspect it to be the radiator fan running. But here are couple of questions from a previous RE owner.
                            1. Does the fan run even after engine is killed using the Switch?
                            2. Is this normal with all CBRs? or should I get something checked?
Is this kind of sound is coming ??

I also have Repsol edition, bought last month. Whenever I start the ignition (engine kill switch is off), this sound come with vibration.

It's completely normal buddy! It's the fuel pump priming the motor. Nothing to worry about it. Comes everytime you turn the kill switch to on position.
