Re: Honda CBR 250R
Just got my bike back from svc. Changed the rear disc rotor along with the pads. Here is the cost breakup:
Disc rotor rear, non-ABS: ₹1333
Rear disc pads: ₹865
Is there anyone on this forum who gave his black 2016 edition cbr for service at Saphire, Jayanagar? Just a thought that the person might be from here
Waiting for the rear pads and rotor to bed in now
Odo at 10,060kms.

Cheers! Ride safe!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thing is, the back pain comes and goes. Scans done long back, nothing definite came out of them. One week I'm pain free, next week, bend down to pick up a shoe and then bam! Even a girl sitting on my lap too long hurts my back.
Sanjay - is that paint peeling off your alloys? Custom paint or OEM?
About the 650F, yeah it's a good one. But touring at 200 kmph? Way overkill. But, being human, greed>need. [emoji4]
Just 38k in 4 year on the 250, most guys with my age and energy would do 80k. No point dreaming about a 200kg bike when the 250 causes problems.

No one is going to tour on risky Indian roads at 200 kmph. [emoji13] [emoji13] [emoji13]Originally posted by leech View PostThing is, the back pain comes and goes. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello guys. Just got back from svc. I opened the air filter cover and kept it aside to see what difference does the sound have. And I must say I love it. That brawny sound my Lucy makes is so amazing. People literally turn their heads to look at me when I open my throttle. 💕

Thanks mate. Just one question though. Will removing the filter cover affect my bike in any way? Apart from the awesome sounds it make. 😋Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostGood to know you are loving the bike mate!! 😃 Ceeber is a head turner for sure😄 Lucy looks amazing by the way!👌😃

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Don't do it mate! Removing the filter cover will attract more dust. Your bike is brand new so I would advise you to put it back ASAP! The bike has awesome growl which starts from 4.5k rpm. Enjoy that!Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostThanks mate. Just one question though. Will removing the filter cover affect my bike in any way? Apart from the awesome sounds it make. 😋

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hmmm 10 k km and already rear disc change,? I'm at 32k km will be changing my disc soon , front brake pads n service, but I'm confused about oil, should I stick to motul or go for Honda throttle oil... Will be doing already 1 or 2 tours the coming month. Both are good oils in my experience.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostJust got my bike back from svc. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes buddy! I didn't know that disc pads would wear out so soon so i noticed a bit late. Till then the pads had scratched the plate badly. And moreover the tyre shop guy bent the plate further more. So changed both the pads and plate today.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostHmmm 10 k km and already rear disc change,? Re: Honda CBR 250R
Nothing's gonna happen to your engine as long as the air filter is in place securely. All that's gonna happen is that the air filter will get dirty soon, so you gonna have to change it at 10k interval instead. I've been riding like this for the past 20k kms.Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostThanks mate. Just one question though. Will removing the filter cover affect my bike in any way? One thing I don't like about KTM is that they have A filter Package(or something like this) .It costs around 485 where in every 7500 KMS the air filter, oil filter and some more filters. Its a madateOriginally posted by leech View PostNothing's gonna happen to your engine as long as the air filter is in place securely. Sort of like a combo aloo bujia, bujia sev, and moong dal pack by Bikanoo, eh?Originally posted by xplod566 View PostOne thing I don't like about KTM is that they have A filter Package(or something like this) .It costs around 485 where in every 7500 KMS the air filter, oil filter and some more filters. Its a madate
Honda had some ridiculous service interval for some parts like 18k for air filter, 48k for fuel filter, 12k for oil filter. In my XP, air filter only lasts 10k with cover removed, and the fuel filter 20k, after which I experienced random shut off.
Ofcourse, I run <12k kms a year, so I have to change the filters every year, which is not bad.

No point dreaming about a 200kg bike when the 250 causes problems. The bike isn't a jet engine that you take off straightaway to 400 KMPH. It's how you transition both as a biker and bike itself. The power is a decent 83 odd BHP and it isn't gonna make you feel underpowered nor make you gun it like a maniac. It's having a calm head, riding within your limits, on a highway the 600 can cruise at 140 to 160 with absolutely no drama considering one doesn't t behave like an idiot inside city limits. You can lose your life in a 100 cc going uncontrollably at 95 KMPH and you could do the same in a 600 going at 85...It's just a thin line.Originally posted by pinkesh2703 View PostNo one is going to tour on risky Indian roads at 200 kmph. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END
