Khat, thak, katak sounds when braking or going over a speedbreaker emanating from the front end means two issues, on a new bike it means the forks are loose, meaning your lock nut needs to be tightened to an extent -- not overtightened. On an old bike, it means a conset replacement is necessary. If after adjusting the lock nut and the sound sshall stop, we have absolutely no problem. If we have the same sounds emanating even after the adjustment, steering stem bearing replacement is necessary.

    (3) riding & seating is superb. even pillion ~ my wife liked the seating & felt so much less shocks compare to my old activa.
    (4) 6th gear makes u feel like a king. Rode the bike under 5k Rpm & in btwn 65-70 km.
    (5) Seating posture is superb, u really have feel of riding a sport bike. Stability is another amazing thing.
    (7) Horn is superb.

    Also have some queries.
    (1) ABS indicator light got off, is it normal ? (Pic 1)
    (2) Is temperature in the pic normal ? (Pic 1)
    (3) Is this showing oil level ? {Pic 2 & 3; pic 2 showing level when bike is standing & pic 3 when bike is on side stand}
    (4) Planning another 250 km ride in 2 days. Should I go or wait till first service ??

Sorry fo some que, yet to get Manual
Your bike is absolutely perfect. Everything is as it is supposed to be. Though your engine oil seems to be filled a little on the higher side; though this might vary on the way the engine is positioned. If the bike's tilted towards you making the bike lean towards the oil window side, the oil might appear high. Keep the bike in center in a plan road and the oil level should be exactly halfway between the sight window. If you see all the way, it's overfilled.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks for the response VJ! Will get it done. Gonna go in for first service tomorrow!

On other news, Bangalore is getting stupidly hot again. ATGATT is getting tested heavily! Especially with the street boots I've got. I went on a night ride on Saturday to Nandi hills. First 100km long ride for Suzaku. He was calm and composed and performed beautifully. The ODO currently stands at 620 odd Kilometres. The engine gets progressively rougher by the day and I feel need to get the oil changed. Also, I noticed that the bike veers right if the handlebar is left unattended. What could be the reason for this? Wheel alignment? The mileage from varied usage on Suzaku stands between 30-31kmpl. Since it is still the run-in period, I never ride for too long at a constant speed. Speeds vary between 30-100kmph. Took the bike to 120kmph once on the ride and I didn't find it relaxed as everyone says it is at 120kmph. I attribute this to the need to change engine oil.

That's all for this update guys! Planning to get a tank pad soon. Any suggestions and recommendations?

PS: After 500km, I've upped the RPM cap to 8k RPM. I'm staying in the 4k-8k RPM instead of 4k-5kRPM range, with the occasional burst to 9k RPM.

Do you guys have any recommendation for LED blinkers? I absolutely hate the big old halogen indicators on this good looking bike.

If you aren't against cost and importing stuff, I'd recommend TST industries' flush mount indicators. I personally love them and will get my friend to get them when he's coming back next year. Pair those with their integrated tail light, the bike will look kickass.

                  Hey guys,
Hope you all are doing great!
Finally i've completed 10k kms on my ceeber!
Tomorrow i need to head to the svc to get the bike serviced. Does anyone know the cost of rear disc rotor for non-ABS version?? My disc rotor was scratched because I didn't notice the pads wearing out on time🙁 i have changed the rear pads to 220 ones but after that i had to give it to a tyre shop because the rear wheel had 3 nails in it😬 For some reason he decided to remove the wheel from the bike and during that he bent my rear rotor😡 Now i have to change the rotor so if anyone has changed it before please let me know. And is it better to replace the pads to honda ones so that both pads and rotor can bed in? Or is it okay to use the same pads?

Nice progression, Madhav. Keep her steady at 6 to 7k that's her sweetspot. Handlebar veering to the right isn't supposed to be happening. Try slightly loosening your fork lock nuts and see if it solves the bike. I hope the tire pressure is not either over and above nor lower than normal. But, in either case, the vehicle should absolutely stay still in center line and not pull either ways. It ain't big deal, but if you feel the intensity of the drag is high, meaning the bike immediately pulls to the right when you leave the handlebar and you have to expert subtle pressure on the bars to keep her straight, get it checked immediately.

                    Cheers!

Those big fat big halogen indicator s are for a reason and that is for saving our life in Indian highways. It's a tourer so good illumination is vital. It's 21 watts per bulb where as most others are 10 watts or small Leds. Just saying.

                        I disagree!
LED have better illumination in all conditions while consuming just half the power.

                          Agree!

LED vs halogen headlamps maybe a valid debate, but LEDs fare 10x better than halogens when used as indicator bulbs.

Well no, it doesn't start veering straight away. In fact, above 60kmph, the bike stays steady. As it slows down from 60, the veering starts. I have to put some weight on the left to keep the bike steady. I was wondering if I have to get this checked tomorrow on first service. It's not an issue, but it will surely be causing loss in mileage and unnecessary and uneven wear on the tires. I don't know if I can fix it myself. I'd rather not(I do have the service manual because the bike is new and I'd like to put some mileage on the bike before I start my tinkering. I'm also planning to get the headlight bulbs changed to Philips H4(60/55w) tomorrow from a trusted workshop near my house(these guys work on liter-class bikes regularly). Is it recommended or should I take the bulb to the service centre itself? The headlights are indeed pathetic on the CBR.

I never told led s have bad illumination. I tried to say the stock indicator assembly is one of the best in comparison with the competition. That kind of illumination from a oem product is really great. And the charging system is really robust. If you are looking for led s cool looks then it's a different story otherwise the stock indicators do a really great job.

Also in case the bike falls while standing or crashes , those LEDs maybe a costly affair if it's imported, also doesn't battery usage increase with LEDs at least headlights., Not sure about indicators.
