This is as comprehensive as it gets. Though it requires some dexterity, but with the right tools and how to calculate, which is all explained in this, you can do it with a due diligence. Though discretion advised.

Remember if you want a little higher rider position, you can alter your seat and you extra foam to increase the seat height. Doing so, you must remember, the overall seat height of the motorcycle changes, so if you are vertically challenged then you might have find it a little troublesome to keep both the feet on the ground, or tippy toeing. But, that's one. If you feel the heightened seat suits you well, then it can be considered as a solution.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Yeah thats a common problem. Only complain that i have against my bike is this damn shim issue.
I got shim work done twice on my bike within 20k km on odo and that irritating sound came back after riding merely a couple of thousand kms after last shim work.
Now i have become used to it.
Regarding this issue i talked to their service manager and at one instance he accepted that this was some manufacturing defect present in very early batches of cbr.

Anyway 6k is too much for shim work + oil change.
AFAIK each shim costs roughly under 400₹ and there are four of them. This translates to 1600 even if all 4 are changed and then there is a gasket for tappet cover which again costs around 150₹. Rest you can do your maths regarding labour charges and oil change. Still it shouldn't cross 4k mark by any means.

Better enquire more or try to negotiate with them
Or if u decide to DIY do it carefully.
        All the best

Thanks Bro for the update. I do have the tools with me. But the main issue that I'm facing now is lack of motivation. still I don't want to step back. [emoji41] [emoji41] [emoji48] [emoji48]

The last shim change was in 45k and now its 76k. Talking about the red line, no not much. But yes when I did a Bangalore trip from Kerala couple of times I made her to feel the heat and kiss the red line so many time. Still I wonder how could it be such an issue for a honda engine even it reach the red line. [emoji29] [emoji29]

Yes it really is irritating and annoying. The reason why I decided to do it use of is, I don't wanna simply stand and listen to the SVC guys who are mostly unaware of anything about a CBR250 but only about the CB shine and Unicorn. [emoji51] [emoji49] I have the tools here with me and I thought why can't I? But the main issue that I would have to face when I do it is, if the tensioner chain is about to replace then its gonna be a problem for sure. Because it may require the special tools which will be only there in a honda SVC. Mine is a Yamaha SVC [emoji2]

Ok Guys here it goes. I took home a 2013 sparingly used CBR250R, in the limited edition colour which Honda called Pearl Heron Blue, such a beauty to see and will be doing my daily office commute of 44kms in Bangalore traffic. This is my 4th Japanese bike after YZF R15, Yamaha Ray and Ninja 300, all of which defines exceptional quality standards of Japanese engineering and I did not want anything other this time as well as I chose reliability over anything else. Took the bike to renowned Tansi Honda mech Karthik, who did a full service, along with handle change(one was rusted) and other periodic checks. Still runs on the stock Contigo, and I previously had enough of it on a friends bike when CBR was launched in 2011. Will change to Metz or Street Radials ASAP

Are there any aftermarket mirrors or ones from a different bike which can be retrofitted? The stock mirrors provide a good view of my elbows.

Bike stalled again today morning while coming to office. This happened just after I filled petrol. Even last time it happened when I filled up.
There has to some solution for this. Any idea?

Thats the problem. These guys cant even do a simple maths and most of the time right size of shim is not available in stock. That means your bike will remain with them at least for 10 days in a vulnerable condition where enthu cutlets will try tinkering here and there or in worst case it may become donor to other bikes.
Such incidents have happened in my knowledge.

Changing tensioner is merely a 10 minute job. I dont think any special tool is required for it.
Although if you plan to change cam chain then thats a different story because it needs complete cylinder tear down.

I have been planning to install additional light setup on my CBR250R. Since I have started to do a bit of touring on the bike, wanted to have a backup setup in case the headlamps fail.

                              My main requirements were
                              1. Since the stock headlamp was providing adequate lighting, wanted a back up during touring
                              2. Not too intrusive spoiling the front looks of bike
                              3. Decent throw and focus on road without blinding the other

I did a bit of searching for the mounting system and finalized on the mounting next to number plate as shown in the below configuration.

Aux Light : Purchased from GP Road (Cost Rs 1200 /-)

Switch : Amazon (Cost Rs 350/-) Since, CBR250R handlebar doesn't have space for conventional On/Off switch.

                              Wiring : Done @ FNG

I was a bit skeptical on mounting on the number plate support . If the support bracket vibrates, then the light would do more harm than help. However, my doubts were put to rest when I took for a trial run.

Just wondering why did you opt for that switch which costs Rs. 350/-? All the switches are overpriced on Amazon, I got the hazard light switch for 100 while same was available on Amazon for at least 170. Is that special switch?
