Looks like your engine is burning oil. Try to go for more viscosity oil, so the oil burning comes down. If your engine is burning oil, try to get a 3L/4L can so, you could keep topping up whenever you need it. That would be cheaper than buying 1L bottles.

Engine oil consumption is specific to individual bikes and how they are ridden, so keep topping up whenever its needed.
I been using 300v for 5000 kms, checked my oil level and it's still at 1.5 Ltrs, my riding style is not too hard or not too soft, my oil should be good till 6000 but there's clearly a change in color but will see the condition in another 1000 kms will probably change to shell as many have mentioned not sure the exact one but it's a 10w40. I feel like 300v is suited for intense summers, bike feels absolutely fine, smooth as ever, but my oil interval duration change has definitely doubled upon using 300v, the Honda throttle oil, motul 10w40 showed signs of wear n Tear at 2000kms itself.

Performance was still good as I didn't notice any hard gear shift or excessive engine vibrations.

Now I have filled Shell advance ultra. I used this oil an year ago as well. That time I had to drain it at 4K km because of low oil level(maybe because of riding mostly at high rpm). I Would like to know about the drain interval of this oil from people who have been using it. Thanks in advance.
Though I am not against the use of Motul 300V on the CBR, the performance on all the bikes I've used Motul 300V hasn't been satisfactory, and it's always kept me pondering as to the oil level that diminishes just like Lighting does. Secondly, Shell AX7 Ultra is if not better when compared to 300V when it comes to the overall feel, the vehicle delivers. Primarily, Shell solves the riddle of getting those gremlins as to keep topping up every now and then.

Drain interval depends on riding pattern, the ambiance the motorcycle rides on (i.e. dusty, heavy traffic infestation etc). A good ballpark would be 3.2k

The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Motul 300V will last 4X? That's like 28,800 kms.
kris123456 Are you sure buddy? Any links you can conjure to help us absorb this fact?

Check Mobil 1 video on 20000 miles challenge on YouTube. Used on cvt gearbox I guess (automatic) which has no clutch plates. Also pistons should be in good condition.

It’s for a car, but can be applied to bikes, which are much smaller and don’t get exposed to extreme weather conditions like cars.

Damaged clutch spoils oil though.

Hello Owners and Members,

My bike face some problem which can be read in this

Which leads to this Complete Shutdown

Once the Festival season over in W.B - I drop my bike to the nearest SVC by pushing it for 3 KM seven days ago which is 03-OCT-2017, Today I gave a visit to SVC and found my bike was ready and parked inside.

According to them the Tank and Injector were clogged with garbage, once they cleaned bike comes alive and Mech Drove it for Test....and as per my instruction they did the regular servicing.

Now when I asked about the engine noise describe in the post no 22129, the mech said he didn't know the fast 10km engine noise problem and due to very low fuel he not able to drive much because he used all of them to clean the Fuel injector etc.

I said OK when I approach Service Manager (Useless person) he was like if you want to solve the engine noise you have to spend some serious amount of money when I said I like to know how much he refers to me Service Head (CBR250 Owner) - Now according to him

A. The said noise will not harm the bike or not stopped the bike
B. If I want to pursue the Engine noise problem and seek for the cure they open the bike engine entirely and change one by one component which will be cost in total 5-7k...Once they open it is better to change things cause most of them are worn for past 6 years of usage.
C. According to him as well mechanic Go ahead and ride Engine will not shut down, if anything happens you know where to find us.

In the meantime, the mechanic came and show me a thing where is the problem on my bike which I find is a 'Cam Tensioner' - which shows in this post <---similar item from Unicorn.

Now, Guys, I want to know is this thing adjustable for CBR? Or do I need to change it? Or do I continue as it is? If I continue is there any chance that timing chain will tear or similar things (I don't know) ---- Please suggest what to do?

I'm looking for Truth....Please let me know.

Guys need help..

Today while riding my bike suddenly switched off.. it was like no power to engine.. more like complete shutdown.

Cranked the engine without stopping the bike but it did not work.. was hold the self for 5sec and no luck.
Then Turned off kill switch and ignition off and ON and turned ON kill switched and cranked the bike..
It started..

But at the time it started it was like the bike was out of fuel.. Where i had more than 4ltrs of petrol.. :\

Neel08 - you can go ahead and change the cam chain tensioner. I had mine changed at 25000 kms, because I had a stitching noise from engine at startup every morning on cold engine. It costs ~600 including labor.

After fitting that, check if the sound persists. Don't go for engine opening now itself.

bondarun - whenever the bike doesn't crank, always crank it with throttle half open. Rev it hard while cranking; this will clear a flooded engine.

Cam chain tensioners are not adjustable, they are replaceable units, and they cost 350 odd bucks. And indeed, a faulty cam chain tensioner coupled has been linked to many instances where there is a stitching noise reported by many users. Start off with CCT. I'd suggest you change your timing chain, CCT and get your shims checked for clearances,

Flooding. And the thing does it in style, either first start of the day or during the mid way, it just happens. In such cases open the throttle wide open and start the bike, for 5 to 10 secs the engine will spin but won't fire. Post which, start the bike normally, she would start without any fuss.

Cheers!

Hello all, need some help. I have ordered abro fuel injector cleaner from Amazon, all I need to do is, just mix some ml on next refueling. My bike is 2016 model with 12000 km in odo, frankly I don't expect anything here but thought let it be clean. Has anyone tried this? Any suggestion or standard process to follow

I'm using this one. Just add 1ml/litre of fuel before or after refueling.

Yes, I'd suggest you empty the contents fully. Though they mention 3 ml or 10 ML per liter. Let the bike reach the least fuel level, empty the injector cleaner, and tank up. Personally haven't found any drastic experience or haven't noticed anything if any. The exact ABRO FI cleaner.

Cheers!

Yesterday when i was doing my valve clearance adjustment. I decided to see that how the liqui-moly fuel injector cleaner has worked and I was surprised that it has done wonders from only one bottle use. Before using it my bike was kept without any usage for 6 months in which i think it had accumulated lots of carbon deposit in the whole thottle body and the intake valve area before injector cleaner's use the whole intake area was black covered with carbon deposit even the valve itself was covered in it. After using it you can see in the attached image lot 90% of it has been removed i have also attached my throttle body image so that you all could know how bad it was.

Such incidents have happened in my knowledge.

Changing tensioner is merely a 10 minute job. I dont think any special tool is required for it.
Although if you plan to change cam chain then thats a different story because it needs complete cylinder tear down.
Yea, that's what I'm worrying about the SVC. The sad thing is there isn't any good videos in you tube which may possibly help me out with ideas. Bummer!

Sorry to hear that you are having bad time. Well the power issue may happen with more than one reason. Give a check up on what the SVC has said and do some checkups by yourself too.
1. Check weather the air filter is too much dirty/replace it.
2. Check the tyre pressure
3. Make yourself sure that you are filling good quality fuel on your bike.
4. Keep the chain adjusted and well lubricated.
5. Check if the clutch lever free play is fine and also check the clutch unit.
