Been a silent reader on this forum till now.

I have some issue with my baby ceeber.

When I take it above 6k rpm, there is vibration from the engine. Its like two metal peices are hitting each other ( inside the engine ), this happens when I shift very fast.

When I deacclerate and then accelerate gradually, there is no noise at all.

P.S : the bike is 7 months old and 5.5k done on the odo.

I spoke to people at sai point honda ( mira-bhayander) and preetam Honda ( andheri east), both of them say there is no vibration and no issues.

I dont think so they really want to look into this issue.

Please help me out, or suggest some decent mechanics in mumbai (A.S.S) where the issue can be rectified.

    Cheers,
    Sanjay

The Vibes in any bike , other than the accepted levels of the design, comes from the following..

    1. The chain and sprocket...If the lubrication is poor, uneven ,and or the chain tightness is wrong severe vibes will be felt.

    2. If the AFR is lean also the vibes will be more.

    3. If the engine mounting bolts are not tight .

    4. The Spark plug gap is more than recommended.

    5. Poor quality /grade of Engine Oil.

If you need a third opinion you can take your bike to Vihaan Honda, Thane. The Service there is good for CBRs.
    ---------------------------------------

Could it be the vibtations from shims or any issue related to valve clearence.

Please see : this vibration only comes when I am shifting upwards very fast.

When I deacclerate and then accelerate gradually, there is no noise at all.

When shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, there is a thud sound. It doesn't happen with other gears irrespective of downshift or upshift.

The chain is perfectly lubed, but then too it makes a squeaking sound.

Sorry to be a noob, but experienced people can please put up some lights.

    Cheers.

      Hi All,

Due to one of my over enthusiastic action when lubing the chain , I was unable to use my Beast for 3 continues weeks with 2 bars of fuel in tank.

After that the engine had not been the same till I refuelled with fresh tank full of fuel.

Now I have decided to use a fuel addictive along with the normal petrol I use. As one of the expirenced riders have suggested I would like to try system G to reduce the usual(but very low) tik tik sound from the engine. The problem is I have tried most of the fuel outlets in GST road(chennai) but none have system G. But I found that Indian Oil have their own product ADDON in their outlet.

So anyone from chennai can let me know where they have system G in stock(Almost all the time, as I live in outskirts) or is the servo ADDON good to try??

Need ur help guys.... (as usual )

I got few question to ask please advise me.

            1. Gear shifting up/down is making noise. I asked the Service center guy he told for new bike it is common after 500kms it will automatically rectified. Is it true?

that's just initial clunk. yes gradually it will decrease however ask them to adjust the clutch free play and try to pull the lever till the end and then change gear.

            2. While riding in 3rd/4th gear for little long run (usually in traffic) my legs fells more heat from the engine.

its a new engine and making more heat. it is normal for a new bike. gradually the fan kicking in will reduce. nothing to worry.

            3. While applying brake and rpm reaches from 5k to 2k I feel more vibration than normal.

as the engine is new there are more vibes however they can be due to poorly adjusted chain and also can be dry. get it checked.

            4. After a shot ride when I turn on the ignition and engine switch on I see the radiator fan is running continuously is it normal.

as soon as you stop the bike and again start ignition the fan does kick it. its normal as its there to cool down the engine. don't worry.

speaking truly I don't have any previous experience of riding bikes above 200 cc especially imported bikes because neither me nor my friends no one own such a bikes. so help me soon.

            Thanks in advance.
nothing good in 2-3k if you buy those Chinese el cheapo projector mod job for 3k .. the projector is not UV protectact coated and will make your headlamp glass dark gradually.
also the optics are bad. if you plan to use just the HID bulb again they are not designed for our reflector and will be useless for you and trouble for oncoming traffic.

Led bulbs are nothing less than 3-3.5 k for starters..

the 5500 rpm is known issue. ask the ASC to retighten the fairing and ask the mech to enter a rubber tube patch between the headlamp top part and meter console.
most of it will be gone. for 5.5 you are nearing the second service. it will also smoothen out a bit after that.

I was expecting for an answer for my query , Anyways here goes the embarrassing story .

Usually I use cloth to clean the chain and sometimes clean the sprocket (mostly back and sometimes front) with a tooth brush to remove the grim. On that D day I had a planned small ride of 60+ kms.So as usual started cleaning using chain cleaner spray and the cloth for the chain, Then i did a bad decision to clean the rear sprocket with the same cloth , and eventually had my index finger and the middle finger( of my Right Hand) between the sprocket and the chain while moving the tyre.

Had a puncture wound in the both the fingers. The next day the fingers got swollen and I am unable to use those fingers to ride the bike for complete 2 weeks and that’s when I have regretted the decision the most.

Still i cannot fold the fingers completely as before, but its very much back in action for me to do all sort of activities.

So lesson learnt from the story "either do it properly or postpone the activity".

And as the 'After Effects' i have 3 weeks old fuel mixed with a fresh tank full of fuel. so i thought this will be right time to start using System G or other equivalent fuel additives to have a little bit better engine than i already have.

that's real sad bro. get well soon mate... btw was the engine started and slotted in gear when you were cleaning it ???

system G has been widely discussed in different threads and acts as a good cleaner for fuel lines and injector. use 1 ml per litre.
I have used it with positive results..

                  Hi IronHorse,

The tire was moved by hand and thats why only two fingers were injured, else who knows what might have happened.

Regarding System G, i cannot source it in my area. Have enquired in around 15 fuel stations but no one have it in stock, They are either unheard of it, else they say its not moving so they dont stock it. The problem is am on the outskirts on chennai, so would need some information on where to get System G in chennai.

WCR was one the best ride of my biking ...........
Encountered multiple types of Roads ......... Smooth Buttery Roads, Busy City Roads, Ghat Roads, Sandy Roads etc....
This all was in ONE RIDE....... A Rider Can't ask for more than that ........

Planout started 4-5 months back ........

Had prepared the bike since then ..........
** Changed both Rubbers with MRF ( Had completed above 18K kms on Conti and was never happy with the rubber performance ) .....
Rear tyre was downsized to 130/70 ( Same rubber of R15 V2.0 )
** Got both Alloys painted to Matt Black from Honda Service Center
** Got bot Disc Pads and Coolant replaced.

While riding from Maduari to Munnar a strange thing happened in bike ........
I was riding very aggressively in hills and braking very hard during down hills .....
After riding approx. 45 mins, the front brake stopped working ..... No fluid pressure ... Brake lever was coming full back
Stopped the bike immediately and checked the front brake system......
I found that the brake fluid had become very hot ........ After letting it cool for next 15-20 mins.... things came to normal
Brake started working normal ....... It was then, when i realized that the brake fluid had just lost its "VISCOSITY" due to high temperature.

This sent a CAUTION to all other fellow riders .........

Thinking of replacing brake fluid with higher grade for better high temperature performance.....
