Hi guys, Got a question. Can someone confirm if the new CBR250 are coming with some MRF 140/70 tyre ? I recently heard it's the upsized Revz series. Or is it still the Contigos..
    Thanks

      Hi,

I have got 8 punctures in the rear tyre so far. The CBR is about 10 months old with 13800+kms done.

How long should I keep patching the punctures? Or is it better to get a new tyre? Although the tyre still seems to have a lot of thread left on it.

Also my chain slider came off hanging again. This is the second time this happened. First time around 7000kms. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

Can anyone explain me in brief, what is cone-set ? My SVC guy tell me that it needs to be checked. Bike has done only 8K. Googling didn't answered my question, thats why posting here.

Google "steering bearings" you will get all the answers.

Coneset is also called as ball racer kit else locally charra katori by mechs. The t clamp that holds the forks is connected to frame at one point and for it to pivot it needs round ball bearings. If they go dry/rust/broken the handle gets hard or bumpy and jerks on bumps. Gives a very uneven unstable feeling.

chain slider are very stupid stuff.. it can last 20,000 km and 200 vice versa.. you can put it back with glue and a zip tie else get a new one for 120 bucks.
mine first came out at 1000km and second one broke the next day for which they gave a free replacement and since then touch wood it has done 25,000 km with the same one.
              you never know.

You can opt for r15 v2 rear tire

                    It's 130/70 - 17 , 10mm less width might not bother much

But it's really a good tire
Very good grip . Good life as well
                    Mine lasted 30k kms

                      30 k on r15 or cbr ???

130 wont make much difference to be true.

but any tyre with 15k+ life on cbr is a good tyre for me...

On r15, but it should last at least 15k on CBR
Plus it's a pretty grippy tire

Search for it (mrf revz s 130/70 17)

Thanks for the input. Will get the slider replaced then. Hopefully it will not give up again in the middle of a highway run.

Regarding the tyre, I want to stick to the specifications. The thread looks okayish to me. Could last another 4K/5K kms. Was just wondering if too many puncture repairs degrades the tyre or something.

Am planning to opt for a well used Cbr250 and would like to know the following things

                            4. Normal paid service cost without any additional estimate.

Paid service will cost around 2k-2.5k including engine oil, oil filter, chain lube, washing and other checkups.

I guess other questions have been answered by other members.
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

There is no fixed rule. If it side wall.. replace asap else if the tyre loses over 10psi under a week I guess its time. Else you can keep running until you are fine..
