  • IMPORTANT- Owners please check if possible

    folks,

for CBR NON ABS the pulsar 220 rear disk pad runs just fine.... costs 190 bucks compared to 800+ of OEM and has lasted me 9000 kms compared to 6000 of OEM with moderate use.

now the big query is.. i did see a suzuki Gixxer today and the front unit is indeed BYBRE and the calliper assembly is golden but its looks like exact set that of a cbr but do we have a chance or getting front replacement pads for cheap ??

any guys who have a suzuki showroom/service center nearby to confirm the same ??

it can be of great help if the pads are interchangeable and will cost us less for sure. atleast half the price of HONDA OEM pads.
i have no suzuki showroom nearby.. heck i do not even know of any suzuki service center.

now this second set is done 14k and bike have already become wobbly at 90kmph and above. very slight but cant bear it. i like it to be perfect and its dangerous. i have a query to you guys. your bikes dont wobble ?? inspite of having the rear center strip flat..
I know, my tire is loosing its sheen. Yes the wobble is being felt at low psi. But not a big deal. I will change them during next service. Heres a pic.

Using the P220 pads since last 10K kms. Interestingly, it lasts longer than OEM, which costs more than double.

see if you can check out a suzuki service center in your vicinity. i am sure the Gixxer front pad is the answer for our prayers

hey coming back to my old stupid query. i still did not get my rims painted.. and again comnig back..

did you paint them yourself ?
did you remove the wheel ?

the only reason holding me back was
i did not wanted to do it myself
the road side ones say no need to remove wheel
if i want the wheels to be removed i need 2 stands to support the bike while the wheels go out for paint

else i take it to the SVC and then again carry tyres in car to paint shop and wait for them to dry and again come back and get them fitted
        too much mess..

First thing is, The distance between my SVC and Paint shop is less than 1 KM.
The wheels were taken out in the service center(I Have a good rappo with the mech u see ) The whole process started at around 3 PM. bike was there the whole night. refitted the wheel in the morning. Frankly, its not the way it should be done. After the primer, the paint should be applied after atleast 8 hours. Mine was done within 2 hours.
I would recomend you to get a paddok stand, remove the wheel at your home. You will get more time.
And funny thing is, during the whole process, my bike wasnt kept on a paddok stand , rather on a wooden ramp. There is only 1 stand in the svc.

Same question as above , for ABS which pads fit ???
as per i know the only solution is stock pads , which costs ~2000 INR .

but on personal note, i really not happy with the breaks , not sufficient bite

If you are not happy with the bite with the stock brake pads, alternatively you may source out Galfer sintered brake pads for Honda CBR 250R. @gopakumar s pillai sir has used it extensively and has found a drastic transformation with the brake bite being very progressive and strong unlike the usual complaints with ABS bikes where initially there is lesser feel and then the brakes start responding to your application of pressure on the lever. Though if you intend to procure it from India Performance Racing Store, Mumbai is currently looting customers by charging 10k for a front and rear set. Abroad you can get the whole set for approx Rs. 4500/- vis a vis same cost as OEM stock Nissin brake pads.

Plus if the bike you are riding is older than two years then the brake fluid should be replaced with fresh DOT4 as brake fluid is hydroscopic in nature i.e. it absorbs moisture which will degrade the braking performance over a period of time. Also if the brake pads have worn out, you may get a similar lack of feel on the same.

                Hope this helps

                Cheers,

Good suggestion, i will look in to that .
fact is i spoiled by my previous bike GT250R braking , i had soo much confidence in that 2 front brakes , but here i never go above 80kmph due to less confidence in brakes.

Though some of the Gixxer's spare parts are already available at the SC, brake pads are not available now.
From the picture in the spare parts list, it seems Gixxer's brake pads are the same that of GS but I am not sure about it as the parts number is different.
Here is the picture of it. If a clearer picture is needed, please wait up to tomorrow.

galfer is your answer. they come in varius flavours..

                      organic - similar to OEM
                      sintered
                      carbon compound
                      race grade - best

price will be little higher of the OEM but the bite will be far better and they will last longer..

after you said that you dont find the bit of ABS pads good... you have made all of NON-abs owners sulk... the NON-abs ones are like half the bike of ABS. i have ridden both side by side
