Yes, i have that in my mind. There are some things on the list which I'm planning to source once I get the bike.

    How much would it cost?

local welder can make a decent one for 700-800 bucks.
I'll check with a vendor on this. If bought, how much would it cost?

It is the exhaust contracting after expansion due to heat produced when the engine was running.

If its from near the exhaust, its the cat con cooling down and is perfectly normal.

You should tell us from which part the sound is coming. And if its coming from exhaust after killing engine the sound must go on for few minutes depending on riding distance not 15 - 20 secs.

I asked Honda SVC and they said the cost is around 3.5K. So if you can manage you can build one from your local welder shop as suggested. Also the same thing was suggested by the CBR mechanic to me.
Actually Im looking for a same kind of paddock too. I need to visit SVC for chain lubing as I don't have one.

I'll speak to some mechanics over the weekend.

What should be used for chain lubing?

Just a dry wash with cloth and chain lube spray. At ASVC they use clean cloth to wash and blow some pressure air to clean then lube it.

at my SVC they generally clean the chain with diesel and then pressure wash it . dry it with pressurized air and work out the slack of the chain followed by lube.
dry rubbing the chain wont get the complete grime off the conenctors also the fresh lube wont penetrate to the o rings deep inside.

So a pressurized air/water wash followed by lubrication would do?

I guess I would have to learn how to do it myself by watching the service centre guys do it during regular servicing...

at home.. park the bike.. put old newspaper below the chain area.. use a old tooth brush and some diesel.. dip the brush and start scrubbing the chain all around.
clean it thoroughly. once done. tilt the bike and start in 1gear. give it a bit throttle in 1st/2nd gear. it will throw off all the loose muck/grime and extra diesel. let it dry for sometime and then lube it well. if you can pressure wash it after cleaning it will be better.

Do you own a Paddok stand or welded thing to hold the rear of the bike.

I've booked my CBR and i'm expecting delivery in the coming week. I've heard that the stock tyres aren't good on wet surface and I've been advised to change to Pirelli Sport Demon or Michelin Pilot Street. What would you suggest?

hence cursed abused and threw the tyre. moved to dunlop at rear and IRC at front. not sure or michelin however few folks managed to get Pirelli sport demon. i would suggest use the tyre for 10k or so and then swap to a better one. nothing major unless you are little too harsh over the throttle..

I have the 2012 model with contigo tyre and man they were so scary. Fishtailed a lot of times on dry tarmac on speeds around 60km/hr. Still managed 17k kms before I could change front and rear to Michelins and now I am too happy. Good grips in wet condition as well. Don't know the reason but feel that the bike picks up speed quicker than contigos. May be Michelins are lighter. The tyres sticked to the tarmeac even after hard brakng at around 80 kmph. So that should tell you the story about Michelin's grip. Some people have got PSD. PSDs are expensive and puncture prone as they are soft compound.

And as theironhorse99 said, be easy on the throttle since you are new to the machine. She will provoke you to wring the throttle but keep in check.

How much did you buy the Michelin for? And which one are these?

I didn't like the stock horn and its the first thing I want to change. Do I need to be careful about the electricals?

I got the Michelins for 9k for both front and rear from Karol Bagh. I also have bosh horns. Prev CBRs had one horn. If i am not wrong the current generations have dual horn.

And if you get to know of any reasonably priced paddocks, do let me know. I might be interested to take one.
