guys, if i want to purchase a CBR, i want to know afew things -
- what is the top speed of CBR.
- how comfortable is the bike and its engine at speeds of 90-100 kmph. do you guys think that long distance riding at these speeds can hamper the bike's life in some way?
- how is the bike's handling at 90-100 kmph and above
- how is the bike's braking at these speeds (non-ABS), is there anything to worry about.
- since i have never owned a honda/hero honda bike, but i know that in general honda/hero honda bikes give a more comfortable and plush ride than pulsars which i own, i want to know how good the bike is in absorbing irregularities on road surface and potholes. since i will be doing daily commute of 160 KMS - 80 km to office and back with 55 kms highway and 25 kms hill climbing, i want to know, how comfortable it is to ride, will i get tired and fatigued in the evening, when i come back to home? how is the riding posture, ? what will be overall comfort level.
- is there anybody who does such a long distance commuting daily?
- i have heard that a lot of CBR have some problems regarding quality, are these things sorted out now, or still the same.

On recommendation from a fellow XBHPian Sushant, I visited Fortune Honda, Secunderabad (Hyderabad) last week to check out the ASC. Though better than the others- Pratul and Orange, these guys still don't have essential parts like brake pads available and said it will need at least a week to be delivered. Though the sales guy Rakesh kept on saying that everything is available off the shelf, the self check with the service guy- Veeraswamy was a revelation. Really disppointed as I really loved this machine....specially the the mid-range grunt. Not sure why the ASCs of Honda in Hyderabad is not upto the marks with the rest of India- Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi etc.
Susanth, thanks for your help and congratulation on your puchase. CBR is a brillant
machine.Triple S

If you are planning to buy please drop a mail with your name and number to [email protected]. Those people have spares stock in little number. So they give it to only people who bought bike from there showroom, and who knows big guys(Managers) in showroom and who push them. You send me your details and we will talk. My work location Raheja IT Park, if possible we will meet. This is India boss, people don't give you service until they are pushed.Originally posted by TripleS View PostOn recommendation from a fellow XBHPian Sushant, I visited Fortune Honda, Secunderabad (Hyderabad) last week to check out the ASC. I hope senior owners have replied to your post, i am also making my points being 3 months owner(so junior) of CBR250R ABS

what is the top speed of CBR.
I did max speed of 136 KMPH, i could not stretch for safety reasons and road condition. I heard people from CBR250R club from Hyderabad saying they did 180 KMPH etc. But i think 160 KMPH can be achieved
how comfortable is the bike and its engine at speeds of 90-100 kmph.
It is a bike meant to ride from 80-120KMPH(sweet spots).
do you guys think that long distance riding at these speeds can hamper the bike's life in some way?
Not at all.
how is the bike's handling at 90-100 kmph and above
Very stable on any kind of road, you can hit potholes(small) at that speed.
How is the bike's braking at these speeds (non-ABS), is there anything to worry about.
ABS is gem. suggest u ABS if you want to go fast in city and on hills.
Since i have never owned a honda/hero honda bike, but i know that in general honda/hero honda bikes give a more comfortable and plush ride than pulsars which i own, i want to know how good the bike is in absorbing irregularities on road surface and potholes.
Best(Read Number 1) bike for absorbing irregularities on road surface and potholes.
since i will be doing daily commute of 160 KMS - 80 km to office and back with 55 kms highway and 25 kms hill climbing, i want to know, how comfortable it is to ride, will i get tired and fatigued in the evening, when i come back to home? how is the riding posture, ? what will be overall comfort level.
This will be right bike for you(Only thing add little cushion to seat for extra comfort to your butt to do 150KMS non-stop for 80KMS its not required)
is there anybody who does such a long distance commuting daily?
Some owners already replied you for this question.
i have heard that a lot of CBR have some problems regarding quality, are these things sorted out now, or still the same.
First thing its value for money product. Second Honda has replaced parts which it found defective

Hello to All CBR250r owners!Originally posted by sushanth View PostI hope senior owners have replied to your post, i am also making my points being 3 months owner(so junior) of CBR250R ABS
To all CBR250r owners, SORRY for the slight OT.
To the mods, Please delete if found inappropriate.
Hello Susanth. Remember me? DrVENOM from R15 V2 thread, where you caused a huge rant because of all OT posts?
You claimed in R15 v2 thread that you got a CBR250r just some 2 days back. And now you have posted that you have been owning a CBR250r for 3 months.
No wonder you have been posting internet copy/paste photos of CBR250r as your own bike. I request you to maintain some truth and value in Xbhp forum. Do not mislead anyone by your false statements. Good or bad.
Hope no real CBR250r owners take any offense by my post.

@darkknight & aargee: thankx guys, right now the debate going on in my mind is - a small car like alto k10 or CBR250, the car will protect me from weather like sun/cold/rains etc, but will hamper my future bike upgrade plans for atleast an year. a CBR250 on the other hand will provide me fun, and keep my biker soul satisfied. though it will not provide me with weather protection, but i can live with that. only question of paramount importance is on doing 160 kms daily, i should not be tired and fatigued. although i used to travel to office the same distance on same road 2 years ago, but on doing so on my P150 for around 3-4 months, i backed off, coz i used to get pretty tired and bike needs servicing every 20 days. hmmn i need to think with cool mind.
btw, what is the service interval of CBR250Last edited by princesirohi; 01-10-2012, 04:19 PM.

For regular daily office commute 160kms, my vote goes to car.....as it provide all weather protection and nearly over 4k/month running my vote goes to diesel car as the de-regularize petrol price.Originally posted by princesirohi View Post@darkknight & aargee: thankx guys, right now the debate going on in my mind is - a small car like alto k10 or CBR250, the car will protect me from weather like sun/cold/rains etc, but will hamper my future bike upgrade plans for atleast an year. a CBR250 on the other hand will provide me fun, and keep my biker soul satisfied. though it will not provide me with weather protection, but i can live with that. only question of paramount importance is on doing 160 kms daily, i should not be tired and fatigued. although i used to travel to office the same distance on same road 2 years ago, but on doing so on my P150 for around 3-4 months, i backed off, coz i used to get pretty tired and bike needs servicing every 20 days. hmmn i need to think with cool mind.

else CBR need servicing 6k KM/6months interval in between,And CBR can easily handle such load.Last edited by Neel08; 01-10-2012, 05:10 PM.

Ah, a choice made tough by the passionOriginally posted by princesirohi View Posta CBR250 on the other hand will provide me fun, and keep my biker soul satisfied. though it will not provide me with weather protection, but i can live with that. only question of paramount importance is on doing 160 kms daily, i should not be tired and fatigued. although i used to travel to office the same distance on same road 2 years ago, but on doing so on my P150 for around 3-4 months, i backed off, coz i used to get pretty tired and bike needs servicing every 20 days. hmmn i need to think with cool mind.
for biking. Well I used to own a P150 few years ago and I used to commute for aprox 120km per day and did so for around 5 months. Yes it does become a tiring everyday run after a couple of months.
Now that I own the CBR 250 (bought it strictly for touring) I can feel the difference and can assure you there will be a lot to explore and it will not become an everyday tiring affair so easily. You might have to be patient in the beginning to get adjusted to the riding posture since few members in this thread earlier posted about pain in wrists and back etc. But that will vanish once you settle down (if you go through it i.e.).
A good buy and value for money.
A car on the other side will give you more benefits but I feel you will miss your passion a lot and regret your decision
Just my opinion
All the best buddy !
