@ princesirohi - Looking at your height & physique, I feel that either CBR or Ninja is not really suitable for you. You need a bigger bike so why not opt for a car right now and then upgrade to a larger (read as 600cc) bike later on?

Nothing to abuse, I too was tempted to suggest him Nano/Alto in similar lines, but then it struck me then that, he's concerned about FE & maintenance for 160 Kms a day. The cheapest Diesel variant (like Neel says) would start nothing less than 3.5L (excluding taxes), but the question is, is he prepared to shell so much on maintenance?Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostDisclaimer : Before people...about suitability of bike size.
Prince - Since I know the kind of situation you're in, I'd suggest something totally different & practical; one of you move closer to other's work place so that you can avoid 160 Kms everyday.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Just to change the line of thought, I recently had a chat with a Mumbai cabbie who was driving a CNG Hyundai Santro.Originally posted by aargee View PostNothing to abuse, I too was tempted to suggest him Nano/Alto in similar lines, but then it struck me then that, he's concerned about FE & maintenance for 160 Kms a day. His car returns 19-21 km/kg of CNG in Mumbai traffic.
CNG costs 31.75/kg in Mumbai
CNG is also available in Pune(though not widely).
Edit: Sorry for OTLast edited by antz.bin; 01-10-2012, 07:18 PM.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I'm sorry for OT, but + to the above post, i didn't know CNG was so cheap, it's a really good option in this case.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostJust to change the line of thought, I recently had a chat with a Mumbai cabbie who was driving a CNG Hyundai Santro.

Nothing to feel sorry; this thread is full of junk & OT's rather than ownership experiencesOriginally posted by antz.bin View PostEdit: Sorry for OT
Like I said before, cost works out much cheaper (than buying a car, refuelling, insurance & maintenance) than moving closer to workSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

There is nothing like nailing here. Discussion between buying R15 V2.0 vs CBR150R or CBR250R, went on till using bad mouth against each other. Few posts from few people were deleted by xPolice because OT and using abusive language. And i deleted all posts by me in R15 V2.0 ownership thread. Attached a pic for info.Originally posted by aargee View PostIts not at all a OT!!! Its an eye opener!!! The dude probably deleted all his posts after you've nailed him.

I hate it when the ASC people go all Ninja(no pun intended) on Me.
They act like they are on a secret mission to save as many spare parts as possible :/
I have been running to them every week for the kit for more than a month, and i didnt bother to do it post Jan1st
So today i visit them and they say "Yes sir, the kit has arrived last week"
ME: " But i never got any call and you guys said you will arrange one or two day for all the CBRs?"
ASC: "WE dont call them sir, whenever the bike comes in for service we replace all those parts then and there itself"
I need the bike for tomorrow so i said il be there on Thursday.
Will get a paid service done too, Finally!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Makes much sense.Originally posted by aargee View PostPrince - Since I know the kind of situation you're in, I'd suggest something totally different & practical; one of you move closer to other's work place so that you can avoid 160 Kms everyday.
Even a car at 2L + CBR 1.65L works out to 3.65L which is way more than cost of a CBR. So this solution may not work in the parameters specified by Prince Sirohi.Originally posted by rachitkohli View PostHow about getting a second hand small car around or within 2L, plus getting a Bike.. maybe a CBR for 1.65..
