  • Got my third service done. Engine oil change + oil filter change + repainting engine + adjustment in the steering + another problem reported.
Apparently chain timing device (or whatever it is called) need to be replaced but they don't have stock at the moment. Sigh.
A short ride on the highway and the bike feel more planted now but will need to check this on a longer ride. Put in full synthetic oil finally after 11.5k kms. Eagerly awaiting for sunday to ride

              • ^ you din mention if you liked the work!....
I designed the thing in CS5 and got it printed. :-)
i covered up the 250r... initial plan was to remove the whole cbr250r decal on the fairing, but then the jaw decal would end up too big..

EDIT: i painted(spray can) the exhaust cover cause it was too much scratched.....

How effective is the mud flap on the front?

My ride needs one badly. It would be the most useful mod. Where did you get it done?

@Srivaatsav, @Shivaprasad.ms, @Sasikirian_bs : Hi SSS trios, thanks much for all of your feedback. Rightly said, TBTS peaks in comfort but feels a bit lazy. With my odo reading 14K+ just after 6 months of purchase, you should be knowing that i drive it fair enough. Had done two round trips to Bangalore and one to Coimbatore so far. Planning for Yelagiri this weekend and Coimbatore again by last week of this month . My bike doestn't even feel like needing a break, rather it was me who badly needed a bio-break/water/food. What I am badly missing is the Adrenaline rush in acceleration and a decent top end (Mine does a max of 110km/hr only ). With constant high speeds (95 to 105km/hr), i get a worst figure of 32kmpl. Just shared a brief experience just so as to enable you all know what i would inturn expect from a CBR 250R (as you all would have already had enough bite on her).

I am not willing to sell away my TBTS, giving it to my own brother and thought of replacing my gladiator with this revvvyyyy one.

Bye now, i have emptied my wallet to pay up my debts in one shot, would needs couple of months to have a decent sum in hand (for the downpayment of loan, atleast).

Its for good, with new ones coming (thunderbird 500cc, CBR 150R) and few ones awaiting (Suzuki GW250, Yamaha Frazer 250, Pulsar 250), i feel i will find some peace with my TBTS and gladiator for a while .

                          Next ???

                          • Hi Everyone, am facing a dillemma with my new CBR (2 odd months). The bike just refuses to go beyong 115kmph and feels sluggish (more revs than acceleration). Have done 2200 kms, 1st servicing at 650 kms with oil and oil filter change, second paid servicing at 1400 kms with oil and oil filter change. Got the replacement kit fitted as i got a call from venetian honda (mumbai) and since there was tappet noise, i got the 4 shims replaced (100 kms done post shim replacement). The SVC guys at venetian honda (mumbai) were the most ill-equipped and not up-t-othe-mark at all. After a lot of pleading and hue-n- cry they procured the shims and the guy tells me that the fourth shim is not the perfect size (they put 205 size instead of 208) but the bike should do fine, there is still some noise but has reduced by about 75%. There have been instances when some 150cc bike overtakes you riding a cbr and you cant catch up, maybe i am not the most skilled rider but i have been riding bikes since last 10 yrs and consider myself well above average. Off late i have been thinking of seriously selling the bike off. Spending a decent amount of money and yet bothering so much about the upkeep is not acceptable. I would like to connect with any senior XBHPian in Mumbai who owns a cbr 250 for his views post riding my bike before i make my decision. REQUEST FOR HELP Pls.

                            • ^^^ Looks like the shim issue that can be fixed by a competent ASC. Selling off is not a solution to the issue.

PS - Had you been following this thread, you'll know how important it is to obtain the valve clearance readings before & after replacing the shims & as a customer, you deserve to get it on demand.

                              • Issues with the Continentals...

                                Hi all,

Am not sure if this has already been put up before, but are people facing issues with the stock continentals offlate. I have had a fed sliding instances, even on straights while braking hard. Though not that hard as I should proactively consider my bike to slide. but still at times it does it when supposedly it should not be doing it.

                                ny feedbacks/comments are appreciated.
