Spelling checked & edited in the previous post;
Cost I don't know; it was all in the bill; BTW, is there any motive behind asking the cost? Like, if its more than Rs xxx then you wouldn't opt to change
?
Let me see if it can be source here, but, take me word, nothing reaches in South before it crosses Delhi. Quite surprised you couldn't get one there. May be try with other ASC who've good rapport.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Cost is not a factor at all. Asking just out of curosity. Yeah ill try some other asc also. Although my asc is very helpful but most of the time they dont have parts in stock and arrange them from somewhere else.Originally posted by aargee View PostSpelling checked & edited in the previous post;

^^ lovely.. Shahbaaz, please pm me how i can add myself to the group
Updates: i still continue to be one of the unlucky owners. Facing vibrations and the rear suspension is too too stiff. Gave the bike to ASC couple of times, but they are just unable to fix it. Meanwhile, the bike once went into a minor pothole at speed of around 60kmph, and the rear magwheel got bent
. The bent was so much that the tyre immediately lost air (i think the stiffer rear suspension was the culprit here). And all this at 2am, 30kms away from home. Got the bike home somehow and the ASC replaced the rear magwheel in two days after claiming insuarance (had to pay Rs.450). Also got the rear tyre replaced from continental guys as it had cracks (as mentioned earlier) and had to pay Rs.820 as the wear amount. I gave it to a tyre dealer and swapped it with dunlop of the same specs for some additional amount. (searched a lot for pirelli sportz demon, but its out of stock everywhere). Waiting for the delivery of the bike after fitting the tyre.
You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

Well...don't think so; I'd attribute more to the tire pressure; mine is at softest, but have gone through bad, real bad, potholes at 3 times the speeds you mentioned; touchwood still; though, the tire opened up sometimes a week ago for no reason on super 6 laned highway on greater speeds.Originally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View Posti think the stiffer rear suspension was the culprit hereSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

//Sorry for the OT//
what should be the asking price for a <2000 km run 2011 CBR 250R (Non ABS) - Bought in Sep - Oct 2011 / Owner not using it at all.
Checking the price for a friend, if the going rate is high - may as well ask him to buy a new one. Thanks in advance.Photo Gallery[/B]

Sorry for jumping inOriginally posted by Mail2vasant View PostThanks for replying. Btw it's Vasant not Vasanth. How much did it cost? It's not available at my asc(as always).
the Air filter costs 200-250Rs . I got it changed after my last Mt.Abu ride and just after clocking 9000kms the Air filter was full of dust .
- For those who is doing Touring / Highways Runs on this bike Keep an eye on Coolant Level do check it periodically or before every ride as my Reserve tank was almost empty after 9k kms .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

You are right. The wheels cannot bend for a stiffer suspension. There is a lot of room for the suspension to move than the force required to bend the wheel.Originally posted by aargee View PostWell...don't think so; I'd attribute more to the tire pressure; mine is at softest, but have gone through bad, real bad, potholes at 3 times the speeds you mentioned; touchwood still; though, the tire opened up sometimes a week ago for no reason on super 6 laned highway on greater speeds.
Moreover the tyres are soft compound. I have to cleanup/atleast check for particles once in a week. I have removed glass pieces, small nails. Till now they have not run deep
. My tyre pressure is intact. Think this will be a problem when the tyre runs.
Leave way and then accelarate ... then overtake ....

A depreciation of about 10k for 3-4month vehicle should be alright considering its run 2k kms
But again, if the difference is so small, id rather ask him to buy a brand new CBR instead for a peace of mindGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Hey everyone.. I am back on this thread after a long while again, got caught up with other things..Will try to be regular from now on. I am going through all the posts now.
My ownership experience: I have clocked 13150 kms so far and am very happy with my CBR. It is performing really well
I ride it mostly fast & service it regularly, also use only stock oil (Honda Throttle Synthetic 10W30).
QUESTION: Can someone tell me when the SHIMS are to be replaced as I remember it was 16000 kms?
Please Don't listen to your friends only ask your Honda Dealer/Mechanic,Originally posted by Bipr15 View PostGuys i juz did my 1st servicing but in my area it was unable to find oil filter thats why mechanic juz cleaned my old oil filter i didn't replace my old oil filter but some of my frnds saying fzs oil filter can be use in cbr they said it's similar plz advice something
Only use Honda parts or you will repent later and also ruin your warranty. I remember I had to wait for 3 weeks for an oil filter just to get my first service done. I would also suggest you to source an oil filter from some other city and replace it to ride your bike as oil filter change is MUST after FIRST service.
I too had the same problem with the screws and I had mentioned a Tip/fix on this thread a while back, I can't find that post. Anyways all you need is a Plumbing Thread sealant (PTFE) tapeOriginally posted by Nithesh View PostNo hissing sound here on my ABS.
Just got my bike back from servicing.
Even though i have placed order for the hex screws at the ASC in the first week of Dec, they arent taking it up seriously for some unknown reason.
I enquired about the oil along with kit and they said there was no such thing - yes i know theyre lying but i was more pissed off about the hex screws not being available.
I tried contacting HMSI via multiple emails but to no avail. Back then only one screw had fallen off but on Tuesday one screw from each mirror fell off and i had to tell them to take one mirror off for now and use the two screws on the same mirror instead so i can atleast ride around with it.
The scratches in the pic were my own mistake since i tried to fold the mirrors upwards till i got to the ASC
Now i know about those touch up pens but will they work on this deep gash?
Is there anything i can do about it apart from repainting the whole thing?
Also the regional officer isnt for some reason picking up any calls. Ive been calling them up every 3rd day to enquire about spares and they never pick up.
So is there anyone down in this state who can actually answer my call for HMSI?
Anybody got any contacts?

Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more
You can get it from a local hardware or plumbing/Sanitary Store as it is commonly used in taps.
This worked wonders for my bike as I was dealing with the same issue, just roll the tape around twice or 2 1/2 times on the groves of the screw and then screw it once you get the screws from your dealer, it would not get loose anytime soon. Also I remember I had used the screws from stunner and they worked fine but I am not sure if I had changed them again as this was back in July-Aug. Also, I too had scratched the same portion as shown in your bike's pics but only a small part and my Dealer had the paint and did the touch up job in 5 mins, although it was not perfect job but 80% was fixed I could only see the border of the scratched area. I will try to upload an image.Last edited by Guest; 01-16-2012, 02:37 AM.

Thanks for the tip harryhunt7
I was thinking on the same lines earlier today but more hardcore stuff
instead of the tape i was thinkin of using fevibond

but if ever i had to remove that part off id have to destroy the body part as well so il stick to the tape
As for the screw, i enquired almost every garage, hardware shops, other manufacturer's ASCs and everybody gives out a flat NO!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
