That's what I did after waiting at honda SVC at alappuzha for 1 hour. ( I fell asleep in the customer lounge because I was having a rough day due to high temperature outside [emoji51] [emoji29] .) Nobody took the motorcycle in. They didn't even mind that I was waiting there. Then I purchased the air filter and did it in a local workshop (only because I forgot to take the tools with me, my mistake[emoji56] ) Otherwise almost everything like oil, radiator fluid, brake pads are doing myself. Rattling noise from engine, smoke from silencer at high Rpm, engine kill switch functioning, oil residue inside silencer, cracks on alloy wheels, and the very important thing is to match the engine and chassis number with the original blue book.

I recently bought a 2013 CBR250R ABS variant and got it serviced from a local Honda ASC today. As per the service centre tech, the bike is mechanically good and they only had to replace the air filter apart from regular service. I have been experiencing a strange problem where the bike upon cold start blips and often conks off. Its only when i increase the throttle, the occasional blip vanishes after a while and the rpm soon settles at 1500 rpm at idle.

Also the engine feels quite rough at low rpms and throttle feels choppy at low speeds. The engine oil was checked during service and i was told it doesn't require immediate replacement. My query is what could be the cause of these issues and are there any suggestions to make the bike feel more refined? From what i have heard and read, the CBR is quite refined and engine is quite stress free so these issues have got me worried. Just for info the bike has done about 16600 kms. Any help on this would be appreciated.

[MENTION=27068]Sp!tfire[/MENTION] - try changing the fuel filter as well.

And do a highway run at full throttle, it will help clear out any carbon deposits in the engine and related areas.

First of all congrats on your new CBR. Like you said the CR250R is refined and is one of the best beginners motorcycle in India. I suggest you to do an oil change with shell 10W40. Don't always listen to SVC guys because the bike is your not their. Change the oil along with oil cleaner, cleaner gasket, and drain nut washer just to make sure and to avoid any kind of leakage in near future. I recently changed the oil with shell (thanks for advices from Xbhpians) and I am getting superb results in minimum engine noise and better smoothness. Do check the small hole inside the gas tank opening (which is to drain water and to avoid getting inside the gas tank) wether it is closed with dirt. Most used motorcycles have this issue and the truth is no one cares about this simple but important thing.

              Need suggestion.
Down shifting gerars has become hard after the rain started in my city. Odometer is showing 3100kms.
Should I go to SC for it as planning a ride in next week or not to worry much abt it.

I guess the gear lever needs a WD40 treatment.

Mate, just lube your chain. :P It should solve the issue.

Get your clutch lever free play checked.

Thx a lot Wilson n Madhav.
Let me use WD 40 first as upshifting is smooth.
Only downshifting, specially 2-1-N is very hard.

Will be getting the fuel filter checked and replaced. Any idea about the cost of new filter?

Will be taking the bike to SVC again to get the drain hole cleaned. I am suspecting the pressure water wash yesterday at SVC could be the culprit. As for Shell 10W40 engine oil, are you referring to Shell Advance AX7 10W40 semi synthetic?

Not sure If oil filter and fuel filter is the same, but then oil filter and air filter both costed me around 310 each.
This is the oil. I was going to change but then since my bike under warranty, I was advised not to. But then since I got it, thinking I'll change it now. And then next time again I'll fill it with Honda throttle 10w30. 😜

Is it possible to do that? Filling 10w40 for once just to see how smooth my bike can go and then again keep using Honda oil till warranty.?

Hey guys, I went to see a CBR 250r (all red) yesterday which had a running of 18k kms and its a 2014 model (ABS). It's kept in good condition. i went through all the papers including service record. The last service bill was a whopping 15k which surprised me. Though I'm a noob but 15k bill in just 18k kms. Im attaching the bill, please guide me if any of the changes done is not mandatory after 18k kms or so or if anything is suspicious. Will ask the owner same
