Re: Honda CBR 250R
CBR 150 chain comes with masterlink, so no need to remove swingarm for chain replacement. We can use Paddock Stand for chain sprocket kit replacement of CBR150.Originally posted by Iam_Hoodi_CBR View PostPaddock stand will be of no use to change the chain-sprocket in CBR. The rear swing arm has to be removed to replace the set. So the support has to be given somewhere apart from swing arm

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hey all, I have joined xbhp for some time but my I'd was not activated, so I was unable to post anything, well I am good now.
Well, my self yathi, here working in bangalore. I am pretty much mad with these mini sports bike and was searching desperately for a good bike. I like calm and powerful bike which have good reliability. Frankly I have gone through all bikes in the range between 2-5 lakh and finally bought a used 2016 Honda CBR abs 2016 Jan registered model. Vehicle has ran near 9k and yesterday I did the fourth service on anada honda, hosa road, Bangalore. While checking the job card, I was able to see that they didn't replace the air filter and oil filter. I was thinking about oil filter, it supposed to change in each service right? I went there again, but they are saying not required. Vehicle has 3+ year Honda warranty, so I believe I can't switch to any aftermarket synthetic oil. Also I can see that after their service, some stickers are peeling off. What's the best I can do on that? Which is the best Honda dealer in Bangalore. I also need some help on buying a radiator grill and if possible an indicator integrated rear view mirror. Thanks a lot in advance

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Butting in on this:Originally posted by madhav766 View PostSir, is it necessary to clean the chain every time before lubing it? I know that our roads are pretty dusty, but what's the standard "dirtiness" required for cleaning the chain? I lube my chain every 300-500km based on use. If I'm riding long distances/hours/speeds I do it every 300km. If it's regular city use/short rides/sedate riding I take it upto 500-700km. I've been told 300km is too frequent, yet the benefits of the scottoiler systems, which constantly lube the chain, is apparent.
In monsoons, I clean the chain during every alternate lube session. Now the gap between lube sessions isn't defined by the kilometers you cover, but by the condition your chain is in. I don't let the chain run dry - ever! In heavy rains in city traffic, I have had to lube in as less as 100 km because of rain water and grime washing away all the lube/grease.
So, I clean the chain every alternate lubing session.
In drier seasons, the ratio is 1:3. I clean every 3rd lubing session, just because grime accumulated is far far less.
I usually see up to 600 km in dry climates with grease and 400-450 km with a lube. Highway rides don't see me lubing the chain during the ride at all. I carry some lube but I've rarely used the same during a long ride. I just lube the chain at night and let it settle throughout the night before taking off.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Divya Sharan thanks DS! That gives me a standard to judge by. I've been lubing the chain a lot since I experience vibrations creeping in during the ride. The thin oil may be the culprit there. And the last long ride I went on, there was some pretty heavy downpour. No wonder the chain was dry when I checked the next morning. I was quite taken aback since I'd just lubed the chain the previous night. Now the whole experience makes better since. I didn't think rain would wash lube away. Thanks!Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

You have to replace the oil filter every time you change oil. Even Honda says the same. You can use FZ16's oil filter if you wish to save some cash (but not in warranty duration).Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
So what shall I do now? The mechanic was saying he checked the condition and its good, need to replace only next time. I can go to another Honda show room and ask to replace and top up the oil, if required. Kindly advise, also if anyone knows a trustworthy CBR service center in BangaloreOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Please change oil every 4k km if you're on the OE spec 10w30 oil and city usage is the primary usage. And stress on changing oil filter every time.Originally posted by yathi View PostSo what shall I do now? The mechanic was saying he checked the condition and its good, need to replace only next time. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Wow, as per this the oil change is every 12k km. This is wrong or could be taken from a bike that's in foreign country.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View Post

The manual with me shows the oil change as every 6k km and oil filter change in every alternate i.e, 12k km. Let me edit the post once I have a picture of it.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
You're right. CBR250R has 6000 km oil change intervals. I got this pic off google. Please share the same page from your manual for everyone to benefit. That way we can validate if these SVC guys are even remotely right in bypassing oil filter change between oil changes.Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostWow, as per this the oil change is every 12k km. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks guys, I did check with another Honda service center. As per them they are changing air filter alternative only. It was raining here in Bangalore today, one single drive, the vehicle is damn nasty...rear tire is throwing more.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostYou're right.
