• Re: Honda CBR 250R

Guys need immediate assistance from you.

well it was an usual day I filled for petrol for INR 500 in BP.

Currently the ODO is at 4,200 Kms. So I was riding at 40 - 50 kmph in 4th gear and sighted a speedbreaker so slowed down and popped in the clutch and immediately engine shuts off. So I dragged the bike to side of the road and tried starting it.

Heart attack, Engine doesn't want to start.

I was stranded in the middle of the road with no mechanic shops around. I called up my friend for help, he said he is in office and asked me to let the bike cool for 10 minutes and asked me start it.

Tried as he said and started the bike, voilaaa Engine started running like nothing happened. I just left the bike to idle for few seconds and the bike was perfectly normal.

Can anyone tell me what's this strange problem?
Should I go for earth wire mods??
Or is there any other problem

Second service is due in a month... Pass on your valuable comments.

Well, according to the manual, this is a symptom of a flooded engine. Next time this happens, thumb the starter while wringing the throttle back and forth.

Should I need to do something to prevent this from happening again bro?

Actually you dont need to to cool down your engine. I have faced this thing several times and few other fellow owners too.
Though i cant confirm the exact reason behind this. Few senior riders have pointed towards earthing issues.

I was baffled when same happened to me for the first time but gradually i figured out that engine wont start unless you give it a bit of throttle while cranking it up.
So,

As told by leech you just need to open your throttle while pressing the starter button and engine will start with a bit of coughing..
Burn the rubber, they said
it would be fun, they said

Mention this to SVC. Honda hasnt given any solution for this other than to restart the bike. There is no need to wait 10 minutes to start the bike again, you can try restarting immediately itself with opening and closing throttle at the same time. Thanks to arvstreetracer for this solution.

PS : Hearing this, our Aditya will downgrade cbr250 reliability below RE now. [emoji6]

Hello guys..

Today i did a oil change on my bike and i noticed a small leakage near the oil filter cover area. I retightened the oil filter cover bolts but the leakage is still there but it is very small. I suspect it to be the oil filter gasket. I have never changed the gasket till date and the odo stands at 20k kms.

Any suggestions what could be wrong here?

Change the gasket every time you change the oil filter bro. Its SOP.

Threebond Silicone Gasket maker

I changed the oil filter gasket for first time on last filter change (ODO reading about 35XXX km). Till then, Threebond/Anabond each time on same old gasket while replacing filter. Never had leakage.

Try at any auto shop in your vicinity.
1. ThreeBond 1215 RTV Gray (Costs around 100 Rs for a big tube, not sure of quantity but around 75 gm)Or
2. Anabond 666T (Costs a little more than 100 Rs)

They work like charm! Actually become like rubber once dried up!

Will give it a try since the oil filter gasket is also not available at nearby svcs and it will take minimum 4 days to arrive.

Yes if you ride hard it will give you around 20 to 25 kmpl but if you ride around 100 in sixth gear it will give you easily around 35 to 40kmpl

I use rynox optimus M though I dont have a DSLR. The bag is expandable so it will fit.
