Re: CBR 250R MILEAGE and TOPSPEED
No i don't feel any vibrations after 5000. There are some vibrations and slight clinging/buzzing noise between 4000-4500rpm though.Originally posted by Sundar_karthik View PostThanks.
I went on 1200 km trip but still I feel mileage didn't even touch 30kmpl
I rode at 100km+ all the time.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
My mileage and top speed is same as yours.
Do you feel any vibration after 5000 rpm? There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

CBR250R engine oil.
Hello guys, I'm riding a 2012 model Honda CBR 250R and recently I noticed that the engine oil level came down. I don't see any kind of leakage from the engine or any oil burning issue or oil presence inside the silencer. I've done 4k kilometers since the last oil change and 6k is the oil change interval recommended by Honda. The oil I used was the Honda 10W- 30 fully synthetic. I have already done a top up when I noticed the oil level is low. It's a bit confusing what's the issue is and I'm pretty much wondered. [emoji33] Anybody has any Idea about whats goin on? Please recommend me a better oil than Honda (One of my friend suggested me shell fully synthetic and Mobil 1) thanks in advance. [emoji4] [emoji4]

Re: CBR250R engine oil.
Try the motul 7100 10w40. One of the best oils around. Cost you close to 800rs a litre (try checking on amazon.in since they regularly have a good deal on it)Originally posted by Manderzone View PostPlease recommend me a better oil than Honda (One of my friend suggested me shell fully synthetic and Mobil 1) thanks in advance. Change the oil filter at every oil change.

Re: CBR250R engine oil.
I have oil vanishing issues too. Couple of cbr250 owners i know mentioned the same issue in their vehicles. No leaks, no difference in exhaust smoke tone. Oil brand makes no difference. I top up the oil every 3000 kms.Originally posted by Manderzone View PostHello guys, I'm riding a 2012 model Honda CBR 250R and recently I noticed that the engine oil level came down. Re: Honda CBR 250R
As others mentioned, you can use gasket maker or you can remove the oil filter cover, check the O-right for proper seating and then retighten it (but not over tighten). Gasket makers can be used as a temporary solution. If you have an oil change imminent, it's a good idea to change the O ring of the oil filter cover.Originally posted by pushu097 View PostHello guys..
Today i did a oil change on my bike and i noticed a small leakage near the oil filter cover area. I retightened the oil filter cover bolts but the leakage is still there but it is very small. I suspect it to be the oil filter gasket. I have never changed the gasket till date and the odo stands at 20k kms.
Any suggestions what could be wrong here?
Do not over optimistically consider manufacturers oil change interval. For a motorcycle, the engine oil has to go through stress, shear, temperature that is so much higher than a four wheeler and 3 to 4k is max for a FS oil to drag it to. I'd always recommend 3.5k for FS in liquid cooled engines. It's really complicated, oil does evaporate, but not as fast as one thinks it can evaporate. Oil does burn, but what I'd suggest is do a compression check and see if the compression is fine, if it isn't oil maybe getting burned slowly which is very hard to notice.Originally posted by Manderzone View PostHello guys, I'm riding a 2012 model Honda CBR 250R and recently I noticed that the engine oil level came down. The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: CBR250R engine oil.
Manual recommends to check every fluids(engine oil, brake oil & coolant) everyday before riding.Originally posted by Manderzone View PostHello guys, I'm riding a 2012 model Honda CBR 250R and recently I noticed that the engine oil level came down. I GUESS because of higher viscous nature of Honda Throttle 10w30 FS it dissapears/burns(slightly) from the engine. So because of summer, you may switch to Shell Advance 10W40 FS oil. Its a great oil and is comparatively thicker than Honda Throttle 10w30 FS. Do check the engine oil level after every 100 kms, if the consumption rate is towards higher side then only its something to look after.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Tomorrow going to SVC, but before that would like to take some note from you guys. So my CBR has done 20K in close to 4 years. Last oil(Shell 10w40) and oil filter changed just 800kms ago. Now the things are:
1. I'm feeling the bike is not that smooth that it used to be prior 6-7 months.
2. From few months I'm noticing a sound while accelerating and then releasing the throttle for engine braking. The sound is something close to a flat tyre rolling on the road. I checked tyre pressure and it's fine.
3. On this Monday tail bulb got fused and from then I'm getting one small noise somewhere from the front area. Sound is like some grains are being shaked in a bottle.
Few months back when I visited the SVC, the CBR mechanic told me to replace the chain-spoket. This mechanic insisted me to changed the brake pads few months ago and I did it, but after posting here I got to know that the pads were having many life remaining on it. So this time I would like to take advice from fellow owners before I hit the SVC.

Guys my brother's CBR abs has leaked all the coolant due to a leak near the thermostat . Please advise if he can use motul motocool as the replacement coolant post radiator flush.
Also, can anyone help out with the part no. of the seal near thermostat.

Why is he selling?Originally posted by prashnagpal View PostHi guys. Was planning to buy a fz250 but have come across a cbr 250 Repsol Abs 2017 done 500kms only. He is asking for 1.90 & might give it for 1.75L. Would appreciate honesty suggestions
Check all papers, and find out the service record. Visually inspect the bike for any accident marks.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
You can even look in showrooms for BSIII models, if they are available you will get a good discount but they will be registered in the name of showroom as first owner and you will become the second ownerOriginally posted by prashnagpal View PostHi guys. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Also 2 months old & only 500 kms & pics look perfect. If i am going ahead will definitely inspect it well but my doubt is should I choose the cbr abs over the fz25. 1.40L vs 1.75-1.80L?Originally posted by leech View PostWhy is he selling?
