Beautiful. Glad that it worked out well for you, Shan. The receipt if any of the replacement, and the charges if any, keep them pinned. They just might come in handy. Siddhanth Paul - they do the same stuff you do on the bike. What they have to do is written on the back of the manual. But 90% of the time, they just check the outside nut and bolt, change engine oil, brake pads, coolant, brake fluid top ups, wash and clean the bike, ride it around a bit, and then get it back to you.
You can do that yourself.

Rest of you please let me know. I managed to get a look at the coolant level in the reservoir and it's at the lower level. I think it shouldn't have been this way.
(pun intended) Yes, the coolant isn't supposed to be at extremely low level, and check this window after the engine has cooled sufficiently, this way the coolant is sucked back into the reservoir and gives you a clear picture. Keep the bike up right, very slightly tilt towards yourself or the ask the person holding the bike to do so, now check, it should be between the halfway mark. If it is extremely low at the bottom end, top it up.

Maintaining mine for more than 1.5 years! Visit service center for spares only. Tried to get the service done by them in initial days, but the job was not satisfactory. I had SHIMs jingles from the day I bought the bike. They lingered on saying that it was fine and that sound was normal phenomenon with earlier models. Did at home. All 4 SHIMS were out of specs, ordered and replaced them. It runs perfectly fine. Replaced one fork oil seal and put fresh oil in both forks. Replaced chain set at 25K km. Change coolant every 6 months. Have started DIYs on 2Ts and that's the reason I learnt very basics which provided me ample opportunity to go ahead with hand-on-hand experience. Now at 32K+ km and clutch and throttle wires are still in great shape (factory ones). I prefer working on it by myself. My god VJ! You hit where it hurts. True, I couldn't do it the way leech suggested it. So what I did was, First I put the bike in gear, then I got down on my knees, held the passenger foot peg bracket and the gap in the fairing and bent all the way down like doing a very dedicated "pai-lagu"(touching feet) to the bike and checked the coolant level. To my horror the coolant was the lower level. I didn't know that we need to check it when the engine is cold. Will do it when the engine is cold and let you guys know!

Madhav766 - another tip - just remove the plastic cover around the coolant tank, then check the level. It's much easier to see it that way. That black plastic cover has only one screw.
But I don't even check coolant nowadays, I just unscrew the radiator cap, then open it by putting my hand through the fairing and check the level. I fill it up using a picchkoo like device if it's low.
[MENTION=29952]arvstreetracer[/MENTION] - why did your chain last only 25k? Was it OEM chain? What is your lubing pattern?

Because of the annoying noise and considering my 90 km run of 5 days a week. It was OEM. I think it still can be used in emergency and that's why have kept it as a complete set. My bike is a pre-owned one. It was standing for 2 years - they could only ride that for approx 500 km in 2 years and 7400 km in first year of ownership. When I bought, there was plenty of rust on chain links. Just check ur wheel for any dings(bends). I had the same issue of bike feeling unstable. Actually the wobble or the jumping feel you experience is pretty much due to the wheels not dynamically balanced. As always every tire has different radial run out (harmony) due to manufacturing tolerances. There is a yellow red or white dot on most tires.. Usually Indian specs have yellow or white dots these are there so that the lightest part of the tire, the yellow dot matches with the heaviest part of the rim, the valve stem area, so that they weights are balanced. In our case, since the CBR comes factory fitted with weights, for precise balance, I'd suggest you get the balancing done and use the right psi.Originally posted by shan2306 View PostSorry. Hey all. I'm currently at ReflectON getting the bike detailed and coated with a ceramic paint protection film. Sandesh really runs a tight shop here and his attention to detail when working on the bike is simply stupendous. Having fun conversations about MotoGP and environmental responsibility with him while he works on the bike. :P
That's my Suzaku at the workshop. Will receive the bike tomorrow. I'll update final impressions once I receive the bike.

Sandesh working on my bike
Sandesh is a really fun guy to hang around with. Watching him work was really fun. Unfortunately I had to leave because I had to get back to adulting. Already impressed with his work and it's not even done yet. I'm really excited for tomorrow!
The work being done on the bike includes a complicated paint enhancement detailing job, plastic and rubber detailing and finally applying the ceramic coating to give the finishing a long life. This includes work on every single part of the bike - wheels, console, metal as well as fibre parts. The bike was froth washed and air dried as prep for the detailing. Once we got to the workshop, he got to work on the rims, swing arm, chassis, under seat, etc. As I was leaving he begun the paint correction process. All this for Rs.5400/-(a 10% discount is running currently). The work fascinated me to no end. The quality of products Sandesh uses is very evident. I had the opportunity to look at the products and feel them(in the case of the microfibre cloths, sponges and other equipment he was using). Overall, I can already tell this will be worth every penny I'm shelling out for it! The work takes an entire day, a third of which is spent cleaning the bike intricately and patiently. The rest of the time goes into detailing and letting the ceramic layer rest for as long as possible. I'll be picking the bike up tomorrow afternoon or evening. I will be changing my tyres soon to MRF( stock conti still in good condition at 19k). I will be sticking to MRFs which came with the latest CBRs.
