Ok so i just got back from meeting the Sales Manager at the dealership. The bike is a BS3. I showed him the article in Times of India and he was surprised. Apparently he didn't know anything about it. My query was pretty simple:
    1. What are you doing about it?
    2. Get the Registration done before March 31st or else I won't buy the bike.

He said he will talk to his agent at the RTO and try to push the registration to be done before 31st March.
My downpayment and loan dispersement is already done. So he said that we will refund the downpayment money if I cancel the booking but I will loose money from the Bank. They will not refund the Processing fees and the first EMI will be deducted. Thats about Rs. 12,000 damage overall.

Now I am not sure if cancelling the booking is such a great idea as the money lost may not be worth just taking the BS3 bike and dealing with the consequences. Any suggestions?

Dude, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that the MPSRs are working out for you! I was planning to get the MPSRs as an upgrade to the MRFs, so after hearing a lot of praise from the rest of the world, when you said you weren't happy, I was afraid Michelin quality had dropped. Hope to hear great things from you about the MPSRs.

If the bike is here, I don't see why the next 4 days aren't good to get your bike registered! Is the vehicle here?
Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

      Rides : Honda CB Twister(Feb 2011 - Present) | TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS(Sept 2012 - May 2016) | Honda CBR250R C-ABS Repsol(March 2017 - Present)

Yes the Bike is here. But the RTO will take 15 to 20 days apparently and the bike has to be physically taken to the RTO for registration. (Somethings you can do anything about).

I have also booked the CBR 250 with BS3 engine & I asked the sales person abt this rule. He told me that production of bs3 engine won't be allowed after 31st March but still u can book the bike with bs3.
My loan is under processed & would b cleared on 28 or 29th March. Now this is making me worried.
Can u share that article of Times of India ??

Don't cancel the booking. Let them figure out the registration hassles.
Shoot an email to Honda on this (explaining the same way you did in your post here) and they will put pressure on the dealer to sort it out. Also tell them that you are not responsible for the dealer selling a non compliant vehicle and that you will not bear any losses (booking/loan amounts). Put these things down in writing and it might help you either get the bs3 registered or your entire money back (or a bs4 whenever its available).

Can a owner of a recently purchased cbr250r check their RC smart card and let us know what is mentioned ? (the bs rating is usually mentioned on the rc)

That means that as long as the bike has been manufactured before April, you're golden.

It took a 3-5 days to set in, I was running on a Temp mrf soft racing tyre soo coming from superior front end feel obviously throw me off, as one of the mods mentioned that give the tyre a few hundred km, It set in, I put it in all sorts of road conditions, cornering is joyful now ☺ , cannot wait to hit the highway and the Ghats .

Guys I've recently purchased cbr250r abs bs3 in Guwahati, Assam. The dealer here got my work done pretty quick and I didn't even have to visit the RTO. The dealership has called me to fix the number plate on my bike and the rc I'll get in a couple of days as per their saying. If your bike is booked or purchased on or before 31st March, there is nothing to worry about.

                      Cheers.

Ave2592- go for 2. Extreme vision. Couple of CBR owners including me vouch for it. If you have this, there is little need of aux lights on offroading/ unlit areas.

Feb 2017 sales show ~400 sales for the CBR 250. And 40000 sales for the Bullet 350.

Proof enough of what the average Indian guy wants in a motorcycle. Can be blame Honda then? Can we expect more models from them, when sales figures state that we don't care about actual touring, what matters is the preening?

Actually we can't blame R.E also or the people buy it.

RE guys are RE guys, dont even try to include or compare with their sales, in the near future their sales won't deteriorate .

Now the Dominar is having higher sales than CBR250 right?
So there it is, people need a VFM product in India and Honda motorcycles doesn't even come close to that.

Now the Duke250 is here which costs just same as CBR250, lets see how the sales of Cbr250 goes from now.

It's only gonna go down, no news from Honda, even in the racing circuit there's a Honda team in most of the categories, there's the factory Honda team for group B,C and D and a Honda one make 250 , but they are not present in the 300-400 category which is mostly dominated by KTM bikes, I think Yamaha n Kawasaki are allowed, Suzuki are now only entering group B,C and D soo obviously they dont have a bike in the 300-400cc in the world market itself, now with TVS entering the fray looks likely next year with the akula, Honda will be forced to reconsider their decision to continue with the old existing 250.
