your explanation is confusing.. especially the lines marked in bold
So are you facing air loss or gain?? I have no clue how you could gain pressure (only 'possibility' i can think of is when you check air on a cold tire and then when its warm.. a warm tire will show a higher pressure reading)
As for a leak, there can be a few sources.. tire, valve, rim. A drop of around 2 psi a week is ok.
A good way to spot an leak is my immersing the entire rim with tire into a tub of water and slowly checking by turning it around. A friend recently sent me a video where there was a tiny pin hole in the rim of his 'non-accident' ktm and the air was leaking.

I'm not really sure what's the issue, will see in the next couple of days, and any idea how much is rider and pillion seat cost? My seat has hardened, really need a change before I tour.

Don't waste money buying a new seat, go to pudupet, get the seat re-made with whichever type of foam you like. I've seen the Himalayan's foam available there too! They do a good job, hardly charge you 150~200 bucks.

While I was removing the front brake pads, this clip like thing fell off. Any inputs on what this is, and how to put it back?

This clip (spring) holds the pads from hitting the disc assy by securing them in place. If removed, you'll get a constant khat khat sound while hitting road undulations.

Look at part number 8 in the below pic.

It is very important that you put it back. Check the earlier post for it's location, and if you are still unsure get it done by someone who knows it e.g. svc mechanic.

Thanks, but this clip wasn't there on the rear brakes, when I changed those pads. Is that normal?

I recently shifted to Gurgaon. Any info about good service centres in Gurgaon or Delhi area?

                    Maintenance Query:

To all owners here, could you tell us how much money you've spent for your ride's maintenance? Include costs of tyres and oil as well. Just doing a comparo with other bikes of the same/upper cubic capacity.

I've spent around 57K so far, bought the bike second hand, so that includes restoration as well.

                    • Bike mechanic in Pune for Honda CBR250r shims

                      Hello experts,

                      I own a 2011 Honda CBR 250r (ABS).

I have been facing Shim problems for quite a while and as such haven't been able to ride my bike as much as I would like to.

I had given my bike to the service center twice (Shanti Honda, Pune), however the issue has still not been resolved.

I now would prefer a local mechanic who is passionate about bikes and really does fix the problem. However, I have no knowledge of any such mechanic in Pune.

Can you please suggest a good mechanic who can get the shim problem on my bike fixed for good?

                      Thank you all.

Mines around 17.5k. Bought the bike new, Dec 2012. Almost 4 years now. I'm expecting a chain replacement soon, but my chain keeps going, probably for the next 2000 kms more. Btw, what is the record for oem chain life for CBR250 owners? 33k?

Thank you, but I had to take the bike out for an emergency and the front brakes didn't squeal or make khat khat sounds when I rode without that clip. Should I ride a 100 kms to the SVC just for putting this clip back? I have no idea where it goes. [emoji32]

from what i understand these clips (called abutment clips) are used to avoid wear on the caliper surface or minimize rattle. Your pads contact these clips and due to usage, they would rub against these clips and the clips might wear out, keeping the caliper safe.. Think of them as a shim/sacrificial part. It's easy to replace a clip than to repair a caliper that's had some of its material worn out.
There are other kinds of clips that go on a disc brake system.. like, the ones that attach to the behind of the pad itself (anti rattle clip/shim) and some (like the front on ktm) that help hold the pads in place.
Looking at the picture from the manual , it looks like it goes in vertically aligned and sits in the caliper behind the pads. I guess the side facing up in your pic, should be resting against the caliper with the other side facing the pads.

Maybe these videos will help.. watch at the time mentioned below each video:

How to remove the Caliper and take the pin holding the brake pads in place. Also: how to clean the caliper pistons. Honda and most other manufacturers use me...

In this video you can see how to replace the front disc pads ( C-ABS version ) of CBR250R

I'm at 25k ,didn't maintain my Chain the first 10k km soo if I did I spose it could be 30-40k easily , but I did cut 2 links off, I expect by next service will see if I need a chain sprocket set change for sure
