Re: Honda CBR 250R
It is not normal. I had experienced the same thing when my bike's odo was just at 3800kms. It was under warranty so i mailed to Honda about the issue and they changed the cam chain tensioner which was the cause of the sound. The svc won't do anything buddy, i suppose your bike is still under warranty so just send a mail to honda reporting the issue and also let them know what the svc guys said to you when you took the bike to them. It could be the cam chain tensioner or the shims. Get it replaced at the earliest. All the best!Originally posted by pushu097 View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Finally after 1 year of noise, got a good ASS, which cured my bike. Now its as smooth as new. If your mechanic cant work on Shims efficiently, the sound will be back within 1K kms. My bike is only 37K old, shim changed twice.
Things changed were 2 shims, both camshafts, LA Tensioner, and some lathe work on head. Total bill comes to 5.5K.
Hope it stays like that for couple of months before I sell it.HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Kothari wheels at tilakroad pune. I get all my work done from there. I have got my shims replaced from there and the mechanic Abdul was just superb.Originally posted by pushu097 View PostThank you
Can anyone suggest me a good SVC in Pune. I am fed up of the poor service from Shanti Honda.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Feels good to be back😇.
I was out of action for close to 1 and half months. While i was travelling to mumbai from pune which is very frequent. A squid just hit me from the front while he was overtaking a bus and out of nowhere came into my lane, on the left hand side of my bike when i was descending from the lonawala ghat towards khopoli.
I fell down and was getting late so i just bad mouthed them and left from there. By the time i reached mumbai my hand had enormous swelling. The next day i went for a x-ray and the doctor couldn't find out the crack, so he sent me for a citiscan of the hand and the result was Schapoid fracture. Rest, my jacket and armours took the impact and luckily my helmet did not take any beating ( no marks of any scratch or anything)
Lesson learnt, no matter how good you are or how well you are protected, there are assholes down there waiting to hurt you and cause pain to you.
The damage to the bike was clutch lever bent and left side mirror broken. And scratch marks on the turn indicator and bent handle bar. All replaced except the indicator which wasn't available
I live this time, to describe this incident.
I promised 1 bloke from the ZMR thread that i will send him the ZMR mirror holders. Bro, i will send it soon.
Cheers & Ride safe,
Sanjay

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I feel you brother, had two accidents in consecutive months at low speeds, nothing happened to me, bike took most the damage tho.. After my 2nd accident when I got my bike back, I had a fear when I took the bike out. Even the other time, I was casually riding, a squid decided to speedup , and I let him pass, but immediately turned cause he reached,I almost lost my head, would have smacked him on the face if he reacted I'm sure I would have had a scuffle. If your gonna overtake like a squid , go ahead, don't cut me off middle of my side..both accidents were bike cutting me of middle of the road..Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostFeels good to be back😇.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The bike-blindly overtaking-bus incident happened to me too. Luckily I honked as soon as I neared the bus so that guy sverved back to his lane just in time. No fun when buses are around : either they don't give u space, or they apply sudden brake for their stop just as you're gonna overtake or else some Clown will try a blind overtake of the bus coz he don't wanna waste 2 minutes to find a straight stretch of road. Now I honk every time I get close to any bus. [emoji19]

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Rattle? If you observe the sound to be like knocking or stitching kind of sound, ideal advice would be check your CCT. Usually most CBRs have a slight knocking kind of sound at around 4 to 5k that is not knocking at all, that's how the engine is. Knocking is something which can be clearly felt and you know it's not right. If you can post a sound clip or something, good members here, will help them the best they can.Originally posted by pushu097 View PostHello guys,
I own a CBR250R from last one year and I am following this thread since then. I have covered 11.5K kms on the odo and i am facing a weird noise from the engine(rattle) since this morning. The noise starts when I rev her above 4.5 to 5K and continues. I suspect that it is from the engine head, might be shims or cam chain tensioner. I visited the SVC, Shanti Honda, Pune and i got a pathetic reply from their side that it is normal on such kind of bikes. Could you guys please suggest any solution to this problem.
Thank You.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes its not knocking. The sound is mostly heard on the 1st gear when i rev her gradually upto 5k rpm and reduces a bit in other gears. Will get the CCT checked once the SVCs open after diwali.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostRattle? One more thing i noticed today,
There is a oil leakage from the exhuast port.
I guess the head gasket or the exhaust gasket has blown. No noticeable dip in oil level. Can it be repaired or replaced under warranty?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I faced the same problem while I was in mumbai I didn't get any good mechanic in my area near malad so called my svc guy guna back to my home town madurai. He said it was Chain Cam Tensioner Problem. So he advised me to carry a simple job that was remove the 8 number allen key nut and insert a tester and give a clock wise rotation to it with spring action it will return back do that 4 to 5 times now take a oil can and just put little oil in there and do that again miraculously the sound stopped and I rode back 1450km back to madurai. Now there is a new development the sound has started again and disappears once I see 3 bars on temperature. I have place an order of Chain Cam Tensioner Complete Set. After Diwali I Will Do That Change And Have A Peace Of Mind.Originally posted by pushu097 View PostHello guys,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Worse it can be both. First I'd recommend washing your that area. Secondly, check if there have been any oil residue at the valve cover area, you can know this by gently dabbing your fingers around the head area, it's hard but, it will let you know if there is a leak in the head gasket if you find oil residue. Either one of them or both can be the cause of the trouble. Only a clean up will let us know. Keep us posted.Originally posted by pushu097 View PostYes its not knocking.
