Me along with most of the owners are against mods on a single pot. Its never worth the moolah and engine reliability is at stake. Plus you will be cursed for the loud exhaust which is annoying in a single pot, there's no music in it.

The max you can gain is 4-5 hp with extensive mods. Again, not worth the moolah which will only create issues later on.

Its better, to use the machine as stock and save the money and upgrade later.

    Cheers,
    Sanjay

If you can afford it, go for the ABS version. If not buy the non ABS one. Either way, you will be getting a brilliant do-it-all motorbike. No need to be confused here.

The new CBR launch seems as far from our country as the next solar system is to ours. Just like all other motorcycles which make complete sense to be launched here but never are. In fact so shitty is the situation that a even local manufacturer (TVS) prefers to launch an ABS+FI 200cc motorcycle abroad first whilst we make do with the bottom version.

That's true initially I wanted to buy Apache 200v with abs but TVs isn't in a mood to launch very soon. CBR is the clear option with abs, but am just worried abt the launch of new CBR .

Its not going to launch anytime soon, HMSI stated there are no plans to launch the CBR 250rr, 300r or 500r , you can clearly see they are happy with the 250, in my opinion its a tried and tested bike, there shouldn't be any qualms going for it. Tho its a bit outdated, it still is one of the most reliable bikes in the segment, I cannot comment on the apache because I have not test ridden one.

I agree with everything you said, but this ^^
              Why is it 'Outdated' ?
              Are the spares not available?
Is the tech that goes in to the mechanical's/electronics legacy ? Remember it's only a 250cc mill.
Just because it's been around a few years (maybe 2 more than a ktm) doesn't make it outdated. (If this is outdated, then every other bike sold in India is outdated.. i.e. splendors, activa's , pulsar's, apaches blah blah's.. )
The mechanical's/engine is still among the best in its category, the electronics more than sufficient to run that mill and it also comes with an ABS option. The price too is reasonable and perhaps one of the reasonably priced motorcycles from the Honda stable in India and can perform a wide range of duties (city/touring) without a fuss.

I'd have picked up the cbr250, if not for the ktm's. the ktm surprised me with it's peppy, frantic, two strokish nature(which i love, having ridden many a 2 strokers as a kid and as a long term owner of an rx100) and that was the sole reason i went in for a ktm.

Right now I want a relaxed bike but at the same price am getting Rc390. Moreover new ktm's coming , it's a bit confusing right now.

if you want a 'relaxed' bike then look away from the ktm's. relaxed , ktm, cbr , same price you definitely are confused. It looks like you WANT us to say "get the ktm" .. is that what you want to hear ?

What is the service interval of CBR 250 and average cost of service.

With a moderate use you don't need to service it very often but once in a 6 months. And cost is generally under 2K provided you are not changing any parts.

That is good but what about company recommendations. In months and kms ????

Yes Sanjay you are right,But i like to have a fastest CBR250-I ordered powertronics,i am planning to go step by step mods. Starting with powertronics, then later a bigbore and then a performance camshafts etc.
i like to know if someone has tried mods to enhance performancce.

                          Regards

                            Hello there.
I am confused between the upcoming Kratos 400 and CBR 250R.
Although i created a thread and had a lot of discussion on it.
I want to create a poll just between CBR 250R vs Kratos VS400.
Can you please tell me how to create a poll over here.
                            It will be really helpful.

Honda recomends the same, 6k Kms or 6 months.

But for relatively low users 6 months is the cap and heavy users usually service it relatively quicker than 6k Kms due to reduced engine oil performance.

Doesn't make any sense, considering that the kratos hasn't yet been launched/ridden by the common man.
What do you want people to base their vote on? Some random speculation & preconceived notions ?
