Go with 250r with closed eyes.It is quite torquey and better to ride in City and on highways too. 150r needs too many gear changes. Also the suspension issue of 250r is easily solvable. Contact ironhorse for it, he will suggest a very easy remedy.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello people.
Im pretty new to 200+ segment and confused between duke390 and Cbr250.
I like fared bikes. But there have been no mechanical upgrade to Cbr since launch and i fear its discontinuation anytime soon.
But duke390's power is exhilarating. Im not a fan of dukes exhaust note but slipper clutch, metz, abs and all of dukes package is very tempting.
My ride is mix of city and highway. Please help me choose.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The 390 is a powerful machine, with loads of torque , but if u ride in b2b traffic it will literally cook your legs. The CBR is more sedate, and power arrives only after 5000 rpm and it has strong midrange and top end, but it has the best cooling system coming from experience, I use my bike for everything, commuting or long distance or just going to the market, no issues at all. Duke offers a lot more power a better console, better tyres but, ive come across more issues on the Duke like excessive overheating, radiator fan failing, and such. Both are different bikes, also the CBR has better FE than the Duke for obvious reasons. Do test ride both and see what suits you as a person and your riding style.Originally posted by themachinehead View PostHello people.

What's the comfortable cruising speed for the cbr without loosing it's breath.
I don't want to be gasping when i go ride with 300s and the 390s which my friends own.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
CBR is comfortable at 100-130, I was keeping up with a fz1 the other day, the duke can stay at 140-150 , its a matter of 20kmph more, but once again I reiterate , ride both the bikes and decide what suits you and your usage.Originally posted by themachinehead View PostThanks for input mate.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Cruising speed really depends on the road. Even at 135+ speeds my CbR250 is happy, stable. If you have a long, clear road, then doing 130 all day with occasional 140's won't be a problem.Originally posted by themachinehead View PostThanks for input mate.

You will never catch a duke390, but you can definitely keep up with them on normal 4 lane roads. Once on a Kerala -Chennai trip, an r1 and fz1 kept me company for a hundred kms. On clear stretches they could zoom past 180, but they had to slow down near blind curves and traffic, where I caught up.Last edited by leech; 06-25-2016, 09:06 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Its performance is pretty good in highways. Its starts pulling good after 80kmph. My highest speed is 138 in 150r. Till now no engine or part issues. And the mileage i get in highways is around 48. But yes, you need to do servicing as mention in user manual of bike. For better grip am using michellin tyres and trust me it does its job pretty well and far better than mrf which i got by default. If u want to go for 150r i can definitely say u wont regret. But yes if you want more power 250r is the bike consideing ur options.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Postthanks alot yes your tall riders comfort is what i am looking for n dont want to go for enfields....do you have ridden it on highway i mean the 150r ...how does the roll on feel on say 5th gear between 60 to 100..

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello guys
Finally decided on the CBR 250 ABS.
I ditched the idea of duke 390 for it will be a pain in ass riding in the city. Although it's a VFM product, the metz, abs, 44 horses. Its very tempting but the niggles keep me away.
Plus im not a speed monster. I plan going beyond 120 on Indian highways. And i hope the cbr will be more than enough.
I hope I'm right.
I don't like the color scheme at present. Red looks cheap. Golden cals don't do justice to black. Pearl amazing white is what im thinking of.
Please opine if u think otherwise.Last edited by themachinehead; 06-26-2016, 01:03 PM.

CBR is a no nonsense bike. I would have made the same choice w.r.t duke390vsCbr.
And please don't baby the bike during the run in. I've taken my bike to 138kmph before first service, and my bike still goes to 150+ every time I rip it. Only thing I never do is redline, because the manual says so.
About sticking to 120, that's gonna be difficult. You see, unless you look at the speedo often, you can't really make out 120 from 140.
While taking delivery check if all the tools and owners manual are given. Honda also provides a small Medkit, which will come in handy in case you hurt your pinky.Last edited by leech; 06-26-2016, 03:36 PM.

What color scheme do you prefer as of current.
Pearl white/ black / sports red ?
