Re: Honda CBR 250R
guys a small query if anyone can provide some pointers.....i am in search of upgrade from my 2015 fzv2 and after considering my requirments i am tilting toward cbr brothers....i am in search of 150r in my city but before sealing the deal i want to clear some confusions...i am a sane rider but do spirited riding , i tend to cruise aroung 80 or under and 100 is something i rarely cross infact i have driven around 70000kms and in that i guess may be 5 times i had gone to that figure.....my bike is generaly comuting and weekly rides around hills and ghats that constitute of max 300kms....i want to know few things......
1 is 150r enough genrally i ride alone or save more for 250
2 fz or r15 feels very cramped for my height of 5.11..from my experiance cbr has much better leg room..is my observation correct..does 250r differs from 150r in ergos....
3 service expense n period of 150r n 250r...as bikes would be out of warranty...my runing be 1000kms per month so 2 services per year would suffice?
4 any known mechanical issue in 150...i have read the ownership thread nothing extraordinary noticed....
5 performance difference between 150 n 250...i mean 150 is lighter , sharper in handling and has a better refined n revving engine....does owners enjoy riding 150r after their 250r....
these are some queries that is buging me to sell or not to sell my trusty fz v2....may be few queries i might add as i remeber them....

Re: Honda CBR 250R
If you don't want to cross 100 why buy CBR? CBR250 is meant for touring at 120+. Relaxed engine, best in class cooling system.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Postguys a small query if anyone can provide some pointers.....i am in search of upgrade from my 2015 fzv2 and after considering my requirments i am tilting toward cbr brothers....i am in search of 150r in my city but before sealing the deal i want to clear some confusions...i am a sane rider but do spirited riding , i tend to cruise aroung 80 or under and 100 is something i rarely cross infact i have driven around 70000kms and in that i guess may be 5 times i had gone to that figure.....my bike is generaly comuting and weekly rides around hills and ghats that constitute of max 300kms....i want to know few things......

Re: Honda CBR 250R
From what ive heard the 150 is pretty underpowered and the price difference is not that great between the standard models, abs Costs 40k more.I'm about 6ft 2 and two years and 22000km later bike has not given me any back issues or anything of the mechanical sort. The CBR whether its the 150 or 250 lacks low end torque but makes it up in the midrange and top end. Ive had no issues in traffic or with heating , the bike is a highway mile muncher. But if you are willing to spend extra go for the 250 hands down if u also have touring in mind. The ergonomics are spot on. Upgrading from a fz to a CBR 150 doesn't make too much sense. R15 being a great bike but it can cause real back issues In the long run for taller riders.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Postguys a small query if anyone can provide some pointers.....i am in search of upgrade from my 2015 fzv2 and after considering my requirments i am tilting toward cbr brothers....i am in search of 150r in my city but before sealing the deal i want to clear some confusions...i am a sane rider but do spirited riding , i tend to cruise aroung 80 or under and 100 is something i rarely cross infact i have driven around 70000kms and in that i guess may be 5 times i had gone to that figure.....my bike is generaly comuting and weekly rides around hills and ghats that constitute of max 300kms....i want to know few things......

Really! Does the speed figure matters the most while selecting a bike or the comfort and confidence ? As per your recommendation he should only buy a 100cc then.Originally posted by leech View PostIf you don't want to cross 100 why buy CBR? CBR250 is meant for touring at 120+. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Go for 250r abs if you can. One of the best all purpose bike it is. Safety is also added for you by abs. Tall riders will feel like home in it. Also with your sane riding character you'll get good mileage too.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Postguys a small query if anyone can provide some pointers.....i am in search of upgrade from my 2015 fzv2 and after considering my requirments i am tilting toward cbr brothers....i am in search of 150r in my city but before sealing the deal i want to clear some confusions...i am a sane rider but do spirited riding , i tend to cruise aroung 80 or under and 100 is something i rarely cross infact i have driven around 70000kms and in that i guess may be 5 times i had gone to that figure.....my bike is generaly comuting and weekly rides around hills and ghats that constitute of max 300kms....i want to know few things......

In my opinion fzs v2 offers more comfortable posture than 150r and r15. Both these have forward leaning stance.Phoenix Came, Saw and Conquer My Heart, Forever...

Re: Honda CBR 250R
i am buying or rather saving for it for engine refinement six gearrs along with four valve which gives far better cruising comfort than a stressed 2 valve fz...i hope you understand what i am trying to say....moreover for my inseam it is only option which seems to be reliable unless i move bajajs stable...owned a 220 recently , so dont want to go thereOriginally posted by leech View PostIf you don't want to cross 100 why buy CBR? i am looking in preowned market sir so price difference would be 40000 aprox between 150r n 250 abs for that i will have to wait atleast till next year and you know how impatient we are at this age..it is very difficult to get a test drive as none is available , i am just going by what data available on xbhp.i am just going by few rides that had on my friends bike that to a year back....so from that i remember 150 was pulling just alright for two of us....actually i was very impressed with her ..its engine was smoother than say r15 , ergos are sporty yet was so comfortable ...buy so many criticising comments that i read is making me question my decision....Originally posted by Deathwing View PostFrom what ive heard the 150 is pretty underpowered and the price difference is not that great between the standard models, abs Costs 40k more.I'm about 6ft 2 and two years and 22000km later bike has not given me any back issues or anything of the mechanical sort. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Ha ha, if that's the case most tourer who does touring on bikes like duke and RC, are complete joke.Originally posted by AbhiAvvy13 View PostReally! By the way the requestor had mentioned the speeds which he does most of the time, so it can be taken into account when considering the bike.
Well, a product will be criticised even if it's developed perfectly, so leave that out of your mind. And almost all issues can be sorted out to an extent.Originally posted by ronit1992 View Posti am buying or rather saving for it for engine refinement six gearrs along with four valve which gives far better cruising comfort than a stressed 2 valve fz...i hope you understand what i am trying to say....moreover for my inseam it is only option which seems to be reliable unless i move bajajs stable...owned a 220 recently , so dont want to go there

I have not ridden the 150, but it may suit your need. It will be hard to find, but you have to test ride both 150 and 250 back to back to finalise. Being in the second hand market patience is more important, as hurrying things you might end up regretting the buy.
Good luck in finding a ride.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Speed is one of the important factors in buying a bike, otherwise we all would be riding splendors and activas. When he mentioned he rarely cross 100, I assumed it was because of the roads or personal preference.Originally posted by AbhiAvvy13 View PostReally! About comfort, only a test ride can give him the true picture.Last edited by leech; 06-25-2016, 03:20 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
sir i am asking about the torque difference between two when reaching that speeds....about crossing 100 it is just i am not comfortable to do that as road condition isnt good here....biggest grouse with 250 is the soft front suspension..that gives pogoing effect on high speeds...this is impression that i get by going through the ownership threadOriginally posted by leech View PostSpeed is one of the important factors in buying a bike, otherwise we all would be riding splendors and activas.
