It's not recommended but it is possible. Lead acid batteries can deliver high current if required such as starting the engine. I don't know about cbr electrical circuit but in general, if the bike electricals run on battery as in pulsars, then engine idle should provide the necessary current required by the pump. As a safety measure, don't turn off the engine and go for a ride after checking pressures to ensure battery is not drained.

I haven't tested the amps given out by the alternator to charge the battery, only the voltage. Usually, the safe charging current for a 6-7 ah battery would be around 700mah to 1ah.
Thus I surmise that it's better to use the pump with the ignition off, as avs recommended, because the battery would be capable of providing high amp current, but the charging current delivered to battery when engine is on
would not help prevent deep discharge.

Chain lube vs 140 gear oil

Guys, I had a small fall in the slush. The right clip on handlebar is bent, and the accelerator does not spring back when released, it sticks.

Should I replace the handlebar or ask a local mechanic to hammer it straight?

Sorry to hear about your incident, but congratulations on unlocking the Cruise Control upgrade.
I remember having a light fall on my dad's old Kawasaki Bajaj 4S about a year ago and the same thing happened back then. Riding it was annoying initially but became a bliss afterwards as I only had to set the throttle while on the highway and hold the handlebar in a more relaxed manner. I managed riding in the city pretty well too. In fact, I got so used to it, that when dad got it patched up, riding the bike became a tad uncomfortable and boring. 😂
Coming to your query, I'd change the clip-on if I were in your place. I'm not aware of the pricing, but if you find the price of a new one rather reasonable, I'd recommend you get it changed. Pamper your bike and she'll ensure you always bear the same wide grin when you're aboard her.

Might be due to the bent handlebar. Replacing is good. It ll cost you around 800.

                • Buying CBR250R in 2016. is it wise?

                  Hello respected bikers,

i have been for months searching for a performance bike to fit my budget. Zeroed in on Yamaha R15 v2 and cbr 250r..
although there is a huge 100cc gap between the two yamaha looks fab and fun to ride and is updated frequently.
cbr not been updated since launch is my greatest eye sore about 250r leaving out cosmetic changes. my ride would be a mix of highway and city.
is it wise to buy a cbr 250r in 2016? should i wait for an update? or wait to see yamaha r15 V3 ?

(PS: although my heart is set on Yamaha R3 but its way out of my budget.)

Anybody knows if I get a new CBR 250R Repsol edition now, will it be a 2015 or 2013 make?

I was in the same dilemma 3 years back. Looks vs power. In the end, the lust for power won.

Honda India said they have no plans for launching the upgrade. Even I'm in the same confusion. Probably won't be getting a faired motorcycle

Bro, test ride both the bikes and decide. By personal preference I went for the CBR because of the seating position and my height, me being 6,2. If I went for a r15 my bike would have gone for a toss, two years on my CBR and 22000km its good for both city and excellent on highways, r15 is a great bike in its category, but my only advice is test ride both, don't forget to check the ergonomics too.

they are screwing up someone 's bike.
doing this seriously harms the fuel pump.

plz mention the name of dealer and city or others relevant details so that no one among us falls prey to them
