  • Facing very weird problem, from last 2-3 days my handle is very tight and feels like, i am riding the bike on rim without tyre tube, can't lean, cut . I have checked the puncture, tyre air but all is good. I duno what the heck is happened, why she is behaving like this, went to service center but was closed so gonna check in the morning now.
    Any views on it, what would have been wrong ?

      While the waiting period for CBR is so high, time may not be a huge factor. But from my experience, things with the dealer go a lot smoother if you say 'full cash payment'.
      I didn't really need a loan but initially pursued that to get details and there was almost nil response from hdfc for a month n a half.
      Obviously I am not aware if things have improved from the 2nd lot onwards.
      Can anyone confirm if they got their loans worked out within, let's say, 1 month of the booking date?
      If yes, my suggestion goes out the window unless of course the downpayment or tenure or high emi are a problem too.
      Check the rates given when I finally did get the finance details.(booking date: Jan 2 Hdfc response date: April 6)
      I did apply for a personal loan eventually - dont have the cash to put down so much downpayment... i got some sms saying hdfc applicationa accepted -congrats - hope this means loan is approved - and im paying an astounding 18.25 percent... but its for 2 lakhs and Im not complaining - I want the CBR real bad and the extra amount can be spent on some good gear...

        If you had gone through every post here without any second thought you would have pinned down the issue to the steering cone. Most of the owners here face the same issue. Take it to the SVC and check for any rust in the steering cone.


        Anyone here use any kind of mud flap to prevent the mud spary inside the cowl from the front? I am seriously considering to give rest to my baby till the rains are over since I have only mud and no proper road on my new daily route and traffic like in hell as my office location has changed

              and that exhaust part ,, i got it covered by a plastic film of same silver COLOR ,or i dont knw wat to call it ,,and believe me its amazing ,,,Looks like real

                • Hi everyone,
                  I got my CBR delivered on 27th july. I am the first person to own this bike in Bhutan(separate country, if someone has no idea about bhutan, coz i did my B.Tech form india and i know many don't know about my country) which is just above ASSAM. I am at abound 7200ft above the sea level. The bike is performing well even though i am still in the breakin period. The bike has no serious problem but i have a small problem if any of the bike expert can help me.
                  The throttle is so hard that i get pain in my pam after riding just 5 to 10 minutes though the pain goes just after 3 or 4 minutes after stopping.

                    After owning this bike for 3 months now theres just one thing that comes to mind everytime- lousy build quality- esp when I compare it with my 2009 Yamaha FZ ....I faced the same problem and what gets rid of this is WD40 sprayed straight into the small gap between the dust seal and cone cover/body- fact that wd40 can get in just proves that water can as well!!! and while I was doing this I discovered my left fork had an oil LEAK!!!!

                        • RAPID PROBLEMS FOUND

                          -Changed my horns to roots windtone![THE ONE IN SKODA , MERC etc]
                          -changed stock lamp to bi-enon hid projector lamp

                          PROBLEMS-

                          1.ABS indicaton while driving it blinks contineously and goes off ....[re ignition solves this most of times]

                          2.HID POWER VARIES
                          some times hid intensity is quite hight (normal) and some times it goes off for seconds and again goes on . high intensity low intensity can bee easily seen in throw

                          3.ENGINE GOES OFF SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING LOW RPM,S(RE IGNITION NEEDED)
                          While driving using horns a bit and indicator bike some times goes off and needs to be reinitiated by self start

                          4.SPEEDOMETER LIGHT GETS DIM WHILE USING INDICATORS ALONE + HORNS SOMETIMES
                          the display light on speedo gets a bit dim like not getting full power

                          SO is this all due to weak battery ???? is 6AH less than NEEDED
                          [has anyone gone for 9ah??]
                          OR
                          the problem lies some where else . anyone ?faced this earlier?pz HELP!

                            Please check carefully... it says +6% horsepower and NOT +6 horsepower

                            That would mean that it adds a measly 1.4 bhp to the output

                              Ok...do one thing remove all those things you have installed on your CBR like horn and bi-Xenon then Ride on stock setup for 2-3 days and see if this solves issue . I think issue is that when you use HID+Horn there is not enough power to run Fuel pump- ECU and Abs system this is why bike shuts-off @ lower RPM and you need to restart your bike.
                              Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

                              • Touring mods completed and accessories ordered

                                Hello friends,

                                Fellow CBRers would remember my project to improve the riding posture of the CBR. The aim of the project was to make the bike a better tourer than she currently is.

                                The tension bar mod is a temporary solace; I will be training on odds and ends of Perspex with a heat gun with the view to change the shape of the upper part of the windscreen.

                                I have asked a friend in Thailand to get me a nifty accessory - a smart helmet box. Now before you guys start loading your guns, this is a completely detachable one and need not be an eyesore/thief magnet. It is available at thaimotorbox.com. Just go thru the site and the pics of some CBRs with it and most of you would be aggreeable.

                                Initial riding impressions

                                The front has lightened up quite a bit. The pressure on the inside of the palm, the wrist and the lower arm has reduced perceptibly. The posture is now a bit more upright than it was earlier. Strangely, the bike has given up the hesitation (as has been pointed out by a number of online fora) to turn in and now is able to bank into a turn much, much better than it did earlier.

                                I am planning a trip with a small load to Jamnagar in the coming few days and will update the highway experience accordingly.
