Was out of station for around 5 days and was missing my bike. Came back to Bangalore yesterday and first thing I did was go near my bike and start it. Took it for a spin and that brought a bigggg smile on my face... I just luv it.

My First Longdrive Report on CBR250R
1)
2) I got the overall mileage of 38 KMPL. I maintained 5-6K rpm. Sometime uses to ripping around 8-9k RPM in low gears. This was first time I took engine to 9K RPM after 1700kms ride in 5th gear.
3) Covered distance in 3 hours.
Questions:
Why there was a back pain with jacket? Do I need to change my posture? Or is it because of heavy weight jacket? Please advice.

Which jacket you use i use DSG Nero and i never felt any back pain on this bike even after covering some 750odd kms in a day i was freash and went to my friends house to play PS3 in the night . but there is no connection between riding jacket and back pain .Originally posted by sumantg View Post

@sumantg: People often forget riding on highway and riding on traffic is vastly different. They will often quote traffic experience and assume highway will be similar. Consider this. In traffic, you get break from the same posture every few minutes due to red light, jams, or some one or vehicle crossing the road etc. On highway, you are fixed in the same position for considerable amount of time.

What model of JR do you've? I've been wearing Reactor for over 8 months with both Rx & C250R. There was pain in my wrists initially, but then its no longer there. I would attribute your pain mostly...Originally posted by sumantg View PostWhy there was a back pain with jacket? Do I need to change my posture? Or is it because of heavy weight jacket? 1. You've an existing back pain & you got it cured
2. You're getting used to C250R or long rides
I did over 650+ kms under 9 hours (with over 1.5 hours break at temple) & my speeds were quite more than 125 most of the time & I hope I'm justified to comment
You'll need to reposition your seating often on C250R, keep a straight posture, sometimes forward leaning & sometimes lying on tank & it has to be done conciously. Also sometimes, you'll need to put your weight on the wrists for the body to rest. All of these combinations will help on a long ride.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

There was a price rise discussion sometimes back on this thread, not sure what was the outcome. Today I was at JSP & noticed that the price of STD C250R has gone up by about 2K. When I bought, it was 1.45L ex showroom & now its 1.47 ex showroom.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Guys using Motul/other Chain cleaner and lube , just be careful while cleaning your chain. I have spray deposits on the alloy on my CBR which are turning out to be quite difficult to remove.
Just a tip: Maybe you cover the side of the alloy with a news paper or dirty cloth while you are using the spray so that it does not deposit on the alloy.
Will clean with WD40/Petrol/Kerosene/Diesel and updateWith great Power comes great responsibility

Even if you cover it while spraying the lube, it will still go onto the alloy when the bike is moving!Originally posted by redrage View PostGuys using Motul/other Chain cleaner and lube , just be careful while cleaning your chain. Only solution is to clean with diesel as mentioned by you.
Petrol will thin the paint on the alloys.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

How many kms u done now? 2000 or more? I am around 1300 and I do feel like the bike struggles to get to the top speed. 0-100 comes up in no time though. i have only touched 120 so far!Originally posted by BladeBoy View PostSeems like my engine has opened up very! 146 came easily today! Around 9~10K RPM, Seems like ECR aint the perfect place to do more than that!
Just a fellow suggestion to my friends! Please dont use the normal fuel! The heat that comes up from the radiator is immense at traffics! After 2000 Kms, I tired Speed and its worth it! No heat! Not at all! Even at jam packed traffic!
Not here supporting premium fuel and stuff! But gotta say this! They seem to be less adulterated than the normal ones!

reply in boldOriginally posted by abhifusion View PostHello guys, Abhishek here. I have 4 yr old P220 FI, now its time for him to retire. I'm tempted to buy CBR250R as my next bike
Just wanted to ask you guys few questions to "lock" CBR250R on my radar ...
#1 What is fuel economy?? I would be very happy to get 35kmpl which is close to what my P220 give.
i get around 30 in city riding and 35 in city and highway riding.. my lowest so far is 28..
#3 Is it expensive to maintain? Comparing to P220 ...
i would say normal maintenance is not that expensive.. but compared to P220 it will be expensive..
#4(Most IMP) Is it worthy upgrade to P220FI
Yes IMO it is..
Awaiting replies ...
Yesterday i went for my first long ride (290 Kms) with Black Pearl (that's what we call my CBR as) to Bakkhali, a sea beach in West Bengal.. the road taken was NH117.. It is the Independence Day ride of Kolkata XBHP though very few people turned up..
The bike behaved so well.. no problem what so ever.. luckily there was no rain and the road was dry all through the way.. top speed attained in yesterday's ride is 144 (150 otherwise
).. the interesting sections of the ride are
1. Taking a curve at 125KMPH with full me having full control of the bike and the i will say it was rock steady in keeping the line though there were crosswinds..
2. Overtaking an unknown R15 @140KMPH
...
Overall I am a happy rider now and that puts the doubt that I have on my bike into trash....Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

During city ride i get left elbow pain and everytime i have to strech my left hand for relief. I noticed back pain only during long drives and did not notice in city ride.
May be i have to do some physical excersice to get rid of elbow and back pain. Any riding position suggestions?

So i guess i'll wait a little while longer before making a decision...Originally posted by chicmagnet View PostWait up I say. I rode on NH4 today with dry, damp and wet patches. Was on curves and doing +80 and the tyre held up nicely though I was being extra careful to not apply brakes hard! I have completed 1200 kms on the CBR and I think the tyre will improve.
OT: I had put the michelin sirac on my pulsar last year and wasn't too happy with the grip for atleast a 1000 kms. Thought it was a waste of my money. Now, I swear by the tyre
I was riding just outside of Pune on a Red CBR, though I'd love to meet up sometime.Originally posted by chicmagnet View PostWhere were you? I did see a CBR at lonavala today a black one. Was it you? Me too was on NH4 : Mumbai - lonavala - Mumbai

There seems to be some issue though; Mine was touching the same 120 Kmph mark easily but a question beyond that; Y'day I did a trip to Chennai-Trichy & back & after that, it touches 130 easily & beyond which it struggles. I WILL be checking with HMSI as soon as things work out. IMO, do not wait to hear from me, contact your HMSI engineer or ASC ASAP.Originally posted by chicmagnet View PostI am around 1300 and I do feel like the bike struggles to get to the top speed. 0-100 comes up in no time though. i have only touched 120 so far!
If you don't have any pains before (I mean, you were not involved in any accident or not suffering from any aches earlier), then you need to get used to the bike. May be you need to keep riding it for over 3 weeks continously.Originally posted by sumantg View PostDuring city ride i get left elbow pain and everytime i have to strech my left hand for relief
But again depends how many clicks you do in city & highway. On any given day I do about 21 Km in city, 22 in SH & 26 on NH.Originally posted by sumantg View PostI noticed back pain only during long drives and did not notice in city ride.
It certainly does; whether it helps on riding or not, physical exercise does helps to stay in fit for longOriginally posted by sumantg View PostMay be i have to do some physical excersice to get rid of elbow and back pain.
