  • Seems like my engine has opened up very! 146 came easily today! Around 9~10K RPM, Seems like ECR aint the perfect place to do more than that!

Just a fellow suggestion to my friends! Please dont use the normal fuel! The heat that comes up from the radiator is immense at traffics! After 2000 Kms, I tired Speed and its worth it! No heat! Not at all! Even at jam packed traffic!

Not here supporting premium fuel and stuff! But gotta say this! They seem to be less adulterated than the normal ones!

      hey, thanks !
tht coming from R15 owner ease my decision a bit . Actually since I read the news about new R15 I couldn't make up my mind. But then R15 feels short n tiny for 6'1" 90Kg bloke. My daily commute is mix of highway n city, and occasionally I go for touring too. Either I could get ABS or Good riding gear for 30k ... tough decision !

PS: I heard from my friend tht his 10 friends from Nashik mass booked their CBR with ABS and got 10k Discount each ! i.e 1.78L Onroad !! Trusting its authenticity can we arrange similar kinda GO here??

      • Did 135 today on NH4 before running into traffic.
Didn't have to rev it in any gear. Completely effortless.
I changed gears at 6 - 7 k. I think it would have definitely gone to 145 plus.

spray wd40 spray into the lock barrel.make some arrangement to cover the hole when key is both present in lock and when locked by using a transparent thin plastic taped to the handle. It is the rain water getting in.when you use oil the water and oil forms a gum like thing and jams it further in a few days.

Get Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70-17 if you can, the best option available in India as far as I know about tyres. Price is around 4k here in Bangalore.

I'll check that out.. By the way, are those Pirellis soft or medium compound?

PS: Is 600 km enough time for run in of tyres.. What I am wondering is whether the wet traction will improve with usage of tyres? If not, then I'll not wait until the 1st servicing, to change both tyres.

I agree completely that the radiator heat is simply unbearable.. Even through jeans, you feel as if you are riding in mid summer (even when it's raining cats and dogs). I'll check out Speed for the next fill up (unfortunately I filled up just today).

Wait till first servicing and then report back if the "heat" is still around

                      • hey guys, i went for my 1st long ride with CBR the route was Mum-Udaipur-Mum Total Km's are some where 1600kms . I came to knw that Bikes Trip meter Resets itseflt after every 1000kms WTF . any way ride was superb i enjoyed every moment of it specially when you overtake some high fandu car and then they try hard to just to keep up with you. Sorry there arent any pics right now i will upload them soon.

                        +Ponts
1> Mileage was 28-31kmpl ( Ripping and sane Riding )

2> Best thing in this ride was when me and my friend were cruzing @ 135-140 kmph for almost 30-35kms and 1st time i touched 152kmph it was effortless to go above 145 but after that bike takes its own time to reach 150 .

3> Superb Stable in Cross and Against/Opposite wind i was riding @ 110-115 kmph in heavy cross winds.

4> I realised that brakes a re not that bad at all they are good but funda is to make perfect gearshif for engine braking and every thing will be under control .

                        5> It's a Paisa wasool Bike for me .

                        - points

1> Radiator Fan catches lots of Mud-muck and am afraid it might get jamed bcoz of this .

2> Chain dries out quickly . After riding 200-250kms in rain i saw that chain was completly Dry .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

Sport Demon is definitely softer than Contigo. Its definitely a better choise, the only constrain is the money involved. The stock tyre should perform better in wet surfaces after being used for a while, so take your time and check it out after about 2K+Kms. Also am not sure if it voids the warranty. Please confirm that before you decide.

One more thing, does low quality fuel induce these kind of vibrations? Does the bike tend to feel heavy when using low quality fuel?
I checked up from yesterday's ride and yes I was mostly border-line on the low RPM range of the 5th and 6th gears! So I tried to keep above that in a conscious effort and it definitely helped

Should I upgrade to a softer compound tyres? Any suggestions?
Wait up I say. I rode on NH4 today with dry, damp and wet patches. Was on curves and doing +80 and the tyre held up nicely though I was being extra careful to not apply brakes hard! I have completed 1200 kms on the CBR and I think the tyre will improve.

OT: I had put the michelin sirac on my pulsar last year and wasn't too happy with the grip for atleast a 1000 kms. Thought it was a waste of my money. Now, I swear by the tyre

                            Hmm...quite strange; 10K RPM + 5th gear, mine does 137/9 Kmph

finally broke the 140 barrier . Did 145 Kmph, but again, with sometime.

But one thing I should admit, there's absolutely no difference in the engine noise before & after the trip, there's no roughness or anything.
Try as I may, but I think the engine feels more noisy and rough after a long ride. Tried yesterday and then today. Both times same issues - loads of noise at the end of the ride!

Where were you? I did see a CBR at lonavala today a black one. Was it you? Me too was on NH4 : Mumbai - lonavala - Mumbai

I only touched 120kmph today - that's the highest I have done so far. Had a pillion with me and with her weight and my weight we were almost over the rated load capacity of the bike :P.

I have never had any issue with heat produced from my ride except for the very first time I rode it home. Odo reads 480Kms now, I ensure that the radiator is always kept clean the best I can, clean it with soap water and soft brush once every week (frequent because of the daily dosage of rain in bangalore) and allow it to dry thoroughly. And I always fill Shell Super, I don't want to fill any other brand of fuel even to experiment!! I would recommend the same to you, try it and see the difference yourself..

same, it exerts too much heat.
