Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi Guys,
I am facing a new issue on my 2 months old CBR...while coming back from office today the speedometer light suddenly went off for 30-40secs but the headlight was working fine....what could be the issue? I am experiencing it for the second time.

Rahul

Well to be honest i really don't know what the problem is, but once i was changing my No.plate light and had one fuse blown, which was for lights & except for headlight no other light was working including the speedo light.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Did both the tacho and the speedo lights went off or its just the digital speedo? Any flickering issues recently?Originally posted by Rahul747 View PostHi Guys,

If so its a common problem with the speedo of the cbr that the LED in it would fail eventually. But AFAIK that was a problem seen with the earlier lot of 250R's and it had vanished in the recently manufactured bikes. Good that yours is still under warranty as you said its two months old. Get it replaced ASAP. That console costs 6k and it also resets ur Odo reading.Ride Safe!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi All,
So far my wobbling issue is not gone completely
Here are the list of parts chaned and things checked.- Rear shock (it was leaking oil so had to be changed)
- Rear wheel bearings.
- Front tyre was opened again and aligned properly.
- Front conset was changed.
- Front shock fluid were topped off due to conset change.
The wobbling was earlier visible above 50 now it has changed to above 65-70
The wobbling is only visible only when the bike is driven with one hand / no hands ( I know it is not advisable but to check wobbling driving without hands shows more signs).
If I hold the handle the front seems to wobble up and down rather than left and right.
I'm planning to go different SVC so far I went to Kun Honda Chennai near to my house planning to go Didar Honda Egmore (I know they are better).
Any advice at this point will be helpful including any better SVC.
Regards,
Mohan

Once while lubing the chain, I did start the engine and engaged gears and gave throttle till the speeds of 50 to 60. I found that the bike starts to shake right and left(little) which is not there when the speed is low. I did try shifting the balancing weight(that came during the purchase of bike), which made the shakes poor/better. so I finalized that its mainly due to balancing, but yet to balance the tyre.
I have not taken any major steps to resolve this issue, but asked the technician to check the bike which according to him is alright. And if needed I need to get the wheel/tyre checked outside, which am yet to do. Since you have already did many things to resolve this wobble, I would suggest you get your wheels balanced if not done already. Please check my above post quoted for the place and price.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Suggesting something rudimentary that you may have already done - swap the front/rear tire (the wobbly tire) with a new one or from another CBR250R and see. Don't make any other changes apart from adding wheel weights (if needed). Maybe the tire itself is bad.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostSo far my wobbling issue is not gone completelyGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Thanks, I'm planning to go check with Didar once before going any other place just to make sure bike is not the issue.Originally posted by Iam_Hoodi_CBR View PostEven I have similar wobble which will not be prominent when both the hands are handle bar but will wobble when single/both hands are off at similar speeds.

We did swapped front tire with one in the SVC still issue was there. Planning to see different SVC one more time just make sure everything is right in the bike will spend a day with them.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostSuggesting something rudimentary that you may have already done - swap the front/rear tire (the wobbly tire) with a new one or from another CBR250R and see. The wobble isn't too much or life threatening but it is bothering me I'm planning to go on a tour I don't want to have any major issues during that.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Since its not the wheel, it can be the misaligned forks, you can find numerous videos on how to align front end, Key point: Correct Torque on each bolt.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostWe did swapped front tire with one in the SVC still issue was there. Secondly it can be misaligned rear wheel or worst bent . Same solution as above

My bike also does the same thing when driven with 1 hand, my rim is out i know that because i went on a pot hole @ 90 km/h.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostHi All,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Please don't throw your entire bike history at me, but I've heard radial tyres offer better comfort and stability at speed. Cross ply or nylon can bear more weight, take more abuse due to increased sidewall strength.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostOK im a bit confused nylon or radial?
