Re: Honda CBR 250R
Wat do u think about motul? Right now I'm trying out motul semi-synthetic oil, this morning ,went for a 200km ride, had to keep up with a fz 1, was riding between 110-130 mostly, I was suddenly in the higher rev range for a long time , one thing is for sure, the cooling system on the Honda is top notch, can't argue about that, coming to the smoothness it was totally fine, will see motul fully synthetic from next time out, I change off oil as I said before because of my mixed riding style. Also my bike is due service, I felt like the bike runs out of breath after 130-140, probably because of the condition and my weight and also had a bag, on a earlier ride, I hit about 156-158 in stock form , probably needed a longer stretch to let the CBR climb, either way it was good fun. I'm almost reached 2 years of ownership at 22000kmsOriginally posted by Iam_Hoodi_CBR View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Depends on ones usage, as I've mentioned before I ride 60-70percent sane and rest at a higher rpm,I change my oil as per preference or when I get a burnt smell and discoloration of the oil. You dint have to necessarily change ur oil as per the manual, for better engine life changing it as per ur usage suits the bike better. If your always in higher revs or open your bike alll the time, its better to change the oil at 1500-2000km , like my riding is mixed I change at 3000-3500, or if you ride sane more than 90% u can change it as per the company manual,I can't point out major differences in performance but will have to use motul fully synthetic n see if my engine performance improved, stayed the same or reduced.Originally posted by Manan View Postwhat is exactly the issue with the stock oil, provided that regular maintenance per manual is carried out?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Well I Rode My Bike For About 8000km On Stock 10w30 FS.
Then Changed To Motul 10w40FS. Likes The Color It Gives A Feel That Your Bike Is Running Blood Instead Of Oil.
Made A 3200km Run This Month Travelling To Mumbai From Madurai And Back. At 6.5rpm There Is A Slight Vibration Which Vanishes At 7.5rmp. Well Now This Was Not The Case With Stock 10w30FS.
Now I Plan To Stick Back To Stock Oil.
This Decision Of Mine Is Final As Changing Brands Is Not A Good Idea If You Plan To Keep The Bike For A Life Time. All The Detergent And Agents Used In Base Oil Takes Toll On Piston.
If One Needs To Have A Good Piston. There Should Be Only One Brand This Helps The Piston To Set In Properly In The Cylinder For A Life Time.
And Yes Different Oils Tend To Start Erosion Of Metal From Inside Of The Engine Wherever The Oil Passes By.
This Knowledge Is Out Of My Experience Not From Any Internet Or Mechanic Gaayan...
Bytheway Motul 7100 Means Oil Is Good To Go 7100km Like Was 5100.

precisely without concrete data, I doubt its good to fiddle with the machine.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostDepends on ones usage, as I've mentioned before I ride 60-70percent sane and rest at a higher rpm,I change my oil as per preference or when I get a burnt smell and discoloration of the oil. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Well it's engine oil and I'm still terribly confused , well one person says stick to the stock oil, another says motul full synthetic, I'm on semi synthetic ATM... Also I can buy my own oil and take to the SVC to change right ?Originally posted by Manan View Postprecisely without concrete data, I doubt its good to fiddle with the machine.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
If under warranty they wont allow. One thing you can do is use Honda Throttle FS. It is well for the price.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostWell it's engine oil and I'm still terribly confused , well one person says stick to the stock oil, another says motul full synthetic, I'm on semi synthetic ATM... Depends upon your rapport with the staff at your SVC. But if you don't have some special friendship with them, they won't entertain "such demands" of yours.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostAlso I can buy my own oil and take to the SVC to change right ?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I got a pretty decent relationship with them, even when I had my temporary exhaust on, the mechs at the SVC were very curious and even one of em was enquiring about it, I found it comical, the main CBR Mech was like its very loud and the guy who usually gives the job card and notes the issues also was curious, overall they are pretty friendly and do a good job on the bike. I'm jus immensely confused on the oil, I know its not at all advisable to keep changing oil brands n types. I changed the honda company oil which is castrol at 18000km because one of my mechanics at my uncles factory said it was burnt and it was better to change for longer life of the engine.I am using motul semisynthetic at the moment, I can still go to the showroom and revert back to the Honda oil , castrol is a good brand, but motul is too... I'll keep reiterating this again, oil change can be linked to how uses the bike, I have a very mixed manner of riding , hence I feel better to change at every 3000-3500km, im just trying to use what's best for my engine and I'll stick with that.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostDepends upon your rapport with the staff at your SVC. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guru Kumar, can you elaborate a little as to where exactly did you seal the headlamp or to be more precise, which side of the unit had the leak, so that it can help us identify a potential problem. Did your headlamp unit seep water in as you poured the water in or riding during heavy rains?Originally posted by Guru Kumar View PostMr.Kannan Your Video Was Quite A Help I Followed The Instructions As Per The Video And Removed The Headlight And Did The Water Test Found The Leak Then Sealed The Complete Joint Around The Headlight With M-Seal.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi All,
Sometimes back I asked you guys about wobbling issue after some pointers.
So just an update so far I went to 5 tire shops to check tire issue they all say that since the beading is perfectly aligned nothing to worry.
Went to SVC and changed coneset but the problem still is there.
Is there anything I'm missing ? Is the tire only the culprit ?
Regards,
Mohan

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi Mohan, I got the tyre fitted on the same day I got it. It's very confidence inspiring to have a good tyre at the front, had a great time riding to Bangalore and back the past week. Thanks for that.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostHi All,

I am sure the issue is something else other than the tyre, though partly it's not good to have one bias and one radial tires.
If I may suggest, I had a similar issue where the bike tended to go left sometimes...few days later noticed oil under the front wheel where I have parked it. The right front fork oil was leaking, had that fixed and now it's ok. So checking the forks and maybe even changing the fork oil/seals might be better.

The issue is because of radial/bias combination. It's a known issue.Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostHi Mohan, I got the tyre fitted on the same day I got it.
