Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys, I'm searching for a mechanic in chennai who can change brake pads for cbr250r std model. I would like to change my rear brake to the pulsar 220 brake pads, which a couple members say is a direct fit.
Can some Chennai CBR owners recommend a trusty mechanic?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes, pulsar 220 rear brake pads are direct fit for CBR 250's rear brake, and any normal mechanic who handles disc brake can do the job easily, else you can do it by yourself in max of half an hour.Originally posted by leech View PostGuys, I'm searching for a mechanic in chennai who can change brake pads for cbr250r std model. As per my view, the rear brake are not that great in CBR 250(read 70 - 80% effectiveness) and I feel no change except the low cost after shifting to p220's rear brake pads.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostAre the pulsar brake pads better?
2 days back i noticed that the Pulsar(probably the newer version) have similar Bybre front brake calipers as that of CBR 250's std version, also saw that FZ2.0 has similar Bybre front brake. So the brake pads of these motorcycles can be a replacement of the stock CBR brake pads? Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Have been using the P220 pads from last 20k kms. Excellent breaking, long lasting than the stock. Costs less than 1/4 th of stock.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostAre the pulsar brake pads better?HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3

Re: Honda CBR 250R
IReally please , source me the pricing details n where I can buy it? Honda are charging like 800 per pad or something and the life is very low, I'll be changing the the full chain sprocket set, back or front disc and brake pads soo cutting back on costs will be welcomed also, I'm considering to changing to fully synthetic... Wat are the differences between semi n full, I honestly feel changing the engine oil 3000-3500kms is good for the engine under mixed usage conditionsOriginally posted by sambit View PostHave been using the P220 pads from last 20k kms. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks a lot sir.Originally posted by leech View PostThe CBR is definitely easier on the pocket. Benelli is managed by DSK, who have a good strategy of pricing the spares high, so once you've bought the bike, they can squeeze out a regular income from the owners. Many people who bought a benelli based solely on looks and exhaust note are now complaining about the service costs.
Can the brake fluid be changed without tools, or should I go to the SVC?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I completely agree with you, sir.Originally posted by sman999 View PostIt's more of a personal preference. Try and see for yourself. I tried all the possible oils and came back to Honda throttle. AFAIK it's the best for a butter smooth engine. The only problem with throttle is it wears out almost close to 6000kms. And I don't mind changing oil at 6k kms.
Yes, you can change it with the basic tools. You need a tube to drain the fluid without getting it all over the caliper and plate. Do it if you have seen how they do it else better take it to a SVC cuz if there is air bleed then the brake won't be efficient.
TNT25 when compared to CBR250R is a naked street and falls on the expensive side when it comes to maintenance. You must shell out almost 30%to40% more than the Honda every 5000kms. And most importantly you cant get the spares like you can get for Honda. Service must be done in SVC only.
Thanks a lot of guidance.

Are the front n back brake pads of the pulsar rs a direct fit of the CBR? Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes sir, i have selected cbr with abs. I rode both the bikes. The brakes are weak in tnt25 and there were vibes also. But tnt25 group members are saying that vibes decreases considerably after usage. Brakes are still an issue. Benelli is planning to launch abs version of tnt25 in Sept 2016. Thanks a lot for your input.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostCBR250 with ABS if you want more out of your money and general maintenance and spares will be cheaper compared to Benelli.
if you want to go for Benelli wait for sometime as they are launching ABS version by end of this year.
I hope you took test ride if not pls do so it will give you more clear picture.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Touring is the main purpose for selection of bike. I am happy to get information from you..Originally posted by Deathwing View PostIf u are more long ride and touring oriented , id take the CBR hands down, I have been riding my CBR for almost 2 years and 19000km its a joy to ride Stilll bar the exhaust. The TNT 25 on the other hand is kinda unproven, and Honda spares are a lot cheaper for sure! Have u considered the Duke? Since ur in the same naked category, if u looking for more city commuting go for a naked, but I had the options of d200 n CBR in 2014 went for the CBR because the 200 struggled with me past 115kmph, but its low end torque trumps the CBR but the high end power and high speed cruising CBR is winner hands down, i been using my CBR for everything commuting, long rides and its been fantastic.
Duke has the problem mentioned by you, plus the seats are not more comfortable.
I am very much thankful for your inputs.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have my doubts regarding the front brake pads, that's the reason I have posted here. The rear brake pads of p220 is a direct fit, costs around Rs.200. I guess you can purchase it directly from Bajaj service centers, else look out in the automobile spares parts shops.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostAre the front n back brake pads of the pulsar rs a direct fit of the CBR? Re: Honda CBR 250R
Please keep me posted on the front brake pad replacements, also Honda brake pads are overpriced and prices are high, any idea of better batteries and headlight setup? Someone suggested me 55w xenon.. Any other options? Stock lights aren't strong enough for me honestly and low beam is really pathetic, also rs 200 front brake pads are a fit for CBR, please keep me posted, the rear brakepads of p220 cost around 260 that's almost 500-600 lesser than wat Honda charges.Originally posted by Iam_Hoodi_CBR View PostI have my doubts regarding the front brake pads, that's the reason I have posted here.
