Ive changed the coolant now. Used coolant seems perfectly fine. The radiator took about 800 ml of coolant. The cost for coolant is 250/litre. Fair enough for a change once in two/ three years.

I started her with the new coolant. So far no leaks, but I've been unable to get the fan turned on by revving in idle. Will ride later tonight and update.

I didn't put back the radiator cap screw, because the cap seems secure enough, plus the screw hole now faces the wrong way. 😛

Another question on the same lines, do you guys actually remove tank to change the spark plug? Is it that inaccessible?
For clutch it isn't necessary per se to remove the fuel tank, but it's a tight fit in there, removing the fuel tank means the routing is pretty much easy for the clutch, and throttle cable, less fiddling time. For spark plug, yes you are required to remove the fuel tank.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

If you had drained the coolant and filled it again the level would go down 2 or 3 times if you run the engine after filling. Check, shake the bike a bit and then top up before you go for a spin.

Chain and sprocket will last me another 6k kms, I think. Its still in the green zone. This proves that Mr. Chain and sprocket does not care if you put gear oil/diesel engine oil or Honda throttle to lube it.

I'll pick up a chain and sprocket set and update the current prices here.

Think the chain and sprocket set is around 2300-2500, brake discs are about 3000. Will be changing the set for the first time at 21000km

I have a doubt : the coolant level in the radiator has gone down, coolant is no longer visible when I remove the radiator cap.

However, the coolant in the reservoir is still the same level. I had assumed that the reservoir would replenish the radiator if the latter's level had reduced. Am I correct?

Just a quick question. Is there any way stop ODO to auto reset trip meter after 1K kms? Recent while completing a 1200kms ride I faced this.

Read the manual you got with the bike. IIRC, all bikes have an auto reset, but at 10k and not 1k.
                    Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Ah! ZMR has it till 9999 km. My bad - I assumed all bikes have the same trip meter funda. Sorry bro Hypheni.

Thinking of changing my front tyre at 25k. The options are

                          Ceat -2500

                          Michelin made in Thailand -4000

                          Contigo 1850

My front Contigo has never let me down, so in all probability, I'll pick one up.

Not advisable to go for Michelin radial unless you have a radial at the rear.

MRF zapper is much better than both contigo and ceat on the whole. AFAIK only the ceat off roading tyres are superior.

Does anyone have the ceat offroading tyres fitted? Is it tubeless? Button type?

Ceat Vertigo Rage, it's available in TL IIRC. 130/80, if you don't mind the sidewall thickness, forget the grip you'd expect in both MRF or Mich. Can handle abuse really well.

DS, most vehicles I know of get their ODO reset a max of 1k. Even my mechanical ODO on my car resets at 999 to be precise. I think there is reason why they are kept as ODO, if it resets at 999 and not as OLDO if it resets at 10k, just kidding.
